  • Brilliant !

  • Best band ever! Seen them all over the world. Can not wait to see all shows in OZ in December 2010.

  • Great Concert 2 U!

    U2 ...... NO. 1. Always!

  • I was at this concert right on the barrier in front of where this was filmed and the girl up with Bono was standing next to me. She is a Brazilian girl, absolutely stunning I might add.

The crowd was so loud that night Bono struggled against our cheering and changed key often to get above us. AWESOME CROWD!!!! AUSTRALIAN CROWDS ARE THE BIGGEST AND LOUDEST.

  • U2 wrote "Miami"

  • Also, listen to Still havent Found from Rattle&Hum, vs. the Rock and Roll HOF induction. True, the 80's performance had more power. But, his voice was much sweeter in today's version, which made the song very beautiful. In terms of New Years Day, I agree, the Red Rocks version was amazing. But... don't discount Pop-Mexico City '97. "say its true it's true..." was never sang with more power or range... EVER. That performance was mind blowing.

  • I love it and this is real live, its every time little different and unique, some performers even improvise a little bit (like Alphaville). :)

  • The one goal in my life was to see them playing "With or Without You", live, you know. But I'm not so sure about that anymore, whether I really want to see that. I mean, I really love that song. In fact, in the last two years there hasn't been one single day on which I didn't listen to this song. But his voice is just ... gone. I've seen some vids where it sounds really terrible. But at least The Edge still rocks this song. So, I think I'm going to see them live.

  • A big part of his voice not having as much octave power is, yes... the smoking over the years. In 97' he had to quit according to his doctor or else he would have a medical problem concerning the voice/throat and may not be able to sing at all if he didn't quit around that time. "Mixing it up" is what he's doing mainly because he can't sing high vocals as well as he use to, so it's as if he had to mix it up that way. Basically, U2 was best in the 80's hands down, early 90's were good too.

  • You guys are actually incorrect in these comments. His voice is top notch. Didn't you listen to the new album. The vocals on those are extremely difficult, and the fact that he pulls them off at age 50 are remarkable.

His voice isn't "gone." His voice wasn't ruined by smoking either. He had serious allergy issues which created polyps in his throat along with many other problems. Read their autobiography and you'll get the full picture. It also details the exact moment when he got it back

  • Vocals from earlier albums are harder though, I mean I can't ever see Bono pull off Lemon again, & well Bad just isn't as good as well as many other older tracks that are more raw than today's U2. Around Pop his voice was strained and his smoking was heavy through the 90's, which led to him needing surgery, which means his voice won't ever be at the same power or pitch it was before Pop era. His voice was top notch during 85'-93' , not now. And Robert Plant is 60 & even he's more remarkable!

  • I understand your point, but I disagree. Again, his smoking didn't cause the surgery. PLease refer to the autobiography for more details. In that, he states that his voice retained it's "Bigness" when he recorded Kite. It came back as he sang, "I'm a MAAAN." Lemon refers to falsetto, and not power, so that's actually not a relevant argument. In terms of "Bad," I ask you to please view the Saitama, Japan concert from '06. It's as good as it has ever been.

  • And as I was about to say before space ran out, the thing is his voice is changed ever since around Pop. You can listen to any U2 song of 2000 on or something older and tell a complete difference... His voice sounds very similar in Kite as it does with many U2 songs today, & unfortunately it is more redundant for that reason. His voice used to vary more, and had more "Bigness" when he'd be up on his heels. And I know even his doctor cautioned him to stop smoking around Pop from its cause...

  • I think many of you are confusing the fact that his voice isn't as "deep." with it not beign as good. They are two different things. Please listen to Miss Sarajevo from this year, as well as "one" from 2003 Dublin. Also, listen to Beautiful Day from the Letterman Concert; all top notch, all great vocal power. In response to the comment that today's songs aren't as tough vocally, I would ask you to pay attention to "Breathe," "Kite," "Vertigo," and "Stand Up Comedy; an amazingly versatile vocal.

  • I think you are misunderstanding that his voice and performance is not as consistent. Falsetto and power are two different things, and I think you misunderstood when I brought those up together. Like you keep saying watch this video and watch that video from 2000 on, well I'm telling you to watch a mid 80's performance of Bad, and then one of today. Or a Two Hearts Beat As One performance, New Year's Day, Gloria, Pride, etc. Those 80's videos you can find a better PERFORMANCE with more PASSION

  • TWern, I appreciate our debate here, and am enjoying it thoroughly :-) I have watched plenty of mid-80s performances. That's how I became a fan of U2 actually. I will give you this: WOWY, is not nearly as good as it once was. I think he sings pride better today, technically. But it definitely had more power in years past. That being said, Bad still gives me chills. Compare Bad from Rattle&Hum movie vs. Bad in Saitama Japan 2006. You will see that 2006 was better. He hit "wide awaaaake."

  • R & Hwas taken from several parts of the Joshua Tree Tour, which means vocally not all of the songs there are performed at the same level by Bono, because his voice was going as the tour went on. But With or Without You from R&H is often considered the best live version because it was filmed when his voice was 100%. Bad was mediocre because it was filmed when his voice was somewhat weaker during the tour... In my opinion, Bad Live from Dortmund 84' is the best version; most passion in that one.

  • And on Pride, I feel that the studio version is best. The live versions just don't seem to replicate the ambient guitars and drumming. With Bono, his mulleted days are when he seemed to have the most energy, and when the Joshua Tree Tour came he was more like a man with the world on his shoulders, and he had found an extra octave step up in his voice. Of course J. Tree was somewhat a change to a more spiritual sound. And the best 21st century version of WOWY would have to be Sao Paolo 2006.

  • his voice its not so strong anymore because he smoked a lot at the 90s

  • He sings it this way because its easier on his voice, this song is a killer

  • He hasn't lost the passion, he is choosing to sing it this way. If you think he's lost it check out some of the vertigo tour performances of Miss Sarajevo and Sometimes you can't make it, he still got the passion, you just can't sing the same song the same way for 20 years, you have to change it up.

  • Bono's voice may lost the power and depth, but not the Passion and Emotions which makes this song sound so good everytime they perform it live...

  • Agree with all of the previous comments, U2 doesnt change with time, Its way ahead of its time, They make very powerful music, lyrics..

Without a doubt the greatest band ever..

  • I second that

  • When I say I love this band this must mean I love my self because this damned band became a part of my soul. Go on guys!

  • My best groupe, this video is a great show experience, it is like being there.

  • WITH OR WITHOUT YOU

    b€$7 $0nG €v€r

  • very very beautiful love song

i love you little beautiful girl

  • beautiful song!!!

  • damn, I love this band.

  • true walkin shoe, u2 was doin music in the early eighties wot was way before anyones time. u2 dont move with the time, the time moves with u2. the greatest , most humble band in the world. long live u2!!

  • U2 is the only band in the world who paints in new colours all the time when other bands are following the same old boring pattern.
