  • Thanks. I could do regular muscle-ups (high rings, maximal kipp) first time I tried (after learning about the false grip), so I'm not really qualified to offer advice.

    If you could gain access to higher rings I would advice learning kipped MUs first. 6 or 7 would give you a L-hang automatically.

    Otherwise, do negatives to strengthen up/aquaint yourself w/ the transition. Also spotter should work well with strict MUs, you get to practice technique and the spotter can tell how far of you are

  • Excellent work. I have the same set-up as you - door chinup bar and a set of rings. I'm trying to work on my muscleup, but my technique/strength isn't there yet. How did you develop into doing muscle-ups from the L-hang?
