  • Hey Chris, Obama has conducted the revolution you sought. Now look at the results. The way to create equality is with a hand up, not a handout. When every young rock musician wants socialist revolution then they aren't rebels anymore, they are merely the everyday sameold sameold bs.

  • NOT ONLY R WE FILMING THIS 1 TONIGHT...BUT OUR NEXT ALBUM, WILL FINALLY BE A...LIVE ALBUM,,,FROM BLACK SABBATH!!! THAT WAS JUST ABOUT THE FIRST THING I HEARD FROM RJ DIO...JUST IN CASE,,,LIVE EVIL..1981`...BJC666...

  • 2.:35 He's a natural bass, he smokes, and he has a crystal clear G5. That's just unfair. I wonder what he would sound like if he didn't smoke...

  • @srs7593 Bass? Try a High Baritone, standard Baritone in his later years. That G5 is also falsetto, his highest full-voice notes are strained F#5 shouts in Blinded.

  • @Danerage High baritone is a stretch. His speaking voice rests around Bb1. Now it does, anyway.

Everything he does is mixed head voice. There's no reason for him to use falsetto for the G5s and A5s. He doesn't need it and it would be less consistent anyway. I have a similar voice type to him and I can hit these notes comfortably in mixed voice, more so than in falsetto even. The high 4th octave is more problematic and in Tate's early work he tends to avoid it. I'll may start posting videos.

  • @srs7593 Well he became a standard baritone with age, but in the early days he was 100% high baritone. 'The high 4th octave is more problematic' is basically admitting you use falsetto. If you have trouble around B4 but not at A5, you have a very underdeveloped mixed voice (depending on your voice type) and are using reinforced falsetto for your high notes. Geoff is a very impressive singer, but he does use falsetto on his top notes. Falsetto can be impressive as well, as his is.

  • @Danerage It's not admitting anything it's acknowledging the existence of a passaggio. I can slide up smoothly and slowly from my lowest notes to my highest notes and back down but if it does crack it tends to do so around A4. My Mixed B4 is actually pretty strong now. Not like Goddamn Electric strong but it has the same tone as my clear belted G4s. Passages that go across this part of my voice are hard. I guess by your standards I'm a baritone.

  • @srs7593 A 'natural bass' in rock music would be like, Peter Steele, Axl Rose, Ville Valo, Dan Arlie, Warrel Dane, Billy Gibbons. They can all sing 1st octave notes with booming resonance and clarity.

  • @Danerage Axl Rose and Geoff Tate have really similar voices. REALLY REALLY similar voices. Axl just likes the screamy sound. And cocaine. Billy Gibbons is all fry and his speaking voice is higher than Geoff's. I think Geoff could do what Gibbons does if he felt like it. What impresses me about Gibbons is his head voice in songs like legs. I don't think it's falsetto. I thought it was for a while but I couldn't replicate it. It sounds closer in head voice.

  • @srs7593 Billy Gibbons all fry? He has full notes down to Eb1, with insanely strong F1s. I'm not going to argue with you, because it's not going to go anywhere.

  • @Danerage Yes, a bright, strong vocal fry Eb1. You say you're a high tenor? You're right. This wont go anywhere. Take you're pretentiousness and cynicism elsewhere.

  • @Danerage /watch?v=XFlvmK2tBdk when I hear your G1s well talk.

  • @srs7593 *we'll

  • @srs7593 Pretty solid lows, but you sound like you're in subtle fry on the lowest notes. C5 is also falsetto. In full-voice, you cover about C2-G4 there. Now, in a role-reversal, when you can sing unstrained mixed voice F#5s and push up to full Bb5s, you can talk to me. :)

  • @Danerage Yay, dick waving contest :D

The C5 was mixed. You can even hear me crack up into a falsetto Ab5 afterward. I don't think I can make my voice crack from falsetto into falsetto. Had I been in front of a mic I would have sounded more like Billy Gibbons on the G1. I'll be sure to do that next time. I'll also be sure to slide more smoothly on up. My highest mixed voice note is actually a Bb5 on most days. Not a good day, most days. I'll get this done hopefully in these next few days.

  • @srs7593

You can crack in falsetto actually, but I guess I can believe that C5 as super thin mixed voice. Based on that, you're not getting a Bb5 in mixed voice unless it's 'Geoff Tate' mixed voice (eg. falsetto). In Geoff Tate's approach, I can manage as high as E6, but I use real mixed voice in the same vein as Chris Cornell, Daniel Heiman, Graham Bonnet, or Geoff Tate's notes around D5-F#5. I'd rather not get into a 'dick waving contest', as you put it, though. The internet is srs amirite?

  • @Danerage haha I can't get enough of these kinds of things XD

/watch?v=-bQcK3JzrDc&feature=channel_video_title My thickest recorded mixed E5 that is on the internet right now occurs at 10:49 this in this video. Here I'm just making noise, but I can do a pretty clean one with vibrato these days. You see, I acquired a very wide range in a very short time and am in the process of learning to use it. I'll probably do one of those Jim Gillette tributes very soon for giggles.

  • @Danerage Damn we're bombarding this video XD

  • @srs7593 Haha, yeah. :x

  • PMRC is gone... And now rock has no one to "battle" to express the pretend freedom they used to... Queensryche were revolutionary and on several levels far ahead of their time, but they were also a tool of the machine, doing their specific job to create a false rebellion reality. None of this stuff happened, yet the passion behind it caused the listener to believe it was or would in some way... We are all still in the same time bubble/controlled society the system has created for us.

  • I saw them back up Metalica in the "Justice" tour. Man what perfection Metalica was. But Queensryche didnt appeal to me that much then. But front row center a few yrs later, the last time the whole Operatioon Mindcrime was played FOREVER, changed my mind. It was stupendous! I Still shudder to this day. Can't believe I was that lucky to have the best seat in the 17,000+ seat house. I'm very happy my beloved DREAM THEATER worshiped them, and I saw them together. We ar all fortunate witnesses!

  • You Guys Are A Real Inspiration. That Is One The Best Interviews I Have Ever Seen Of You Guys. You Guys Keep Me Rocking All The Time.

  • Yea, that's REAL outside mainstream political rhetoric.

  • weird: I listened to them for years and I never realised it's the warning for the mindcrime, that should lead to rage for order, which would bring us the promised land

  • PMRC = Democratic-lead puppets

The "conservative" government talks about was not existing at the time they wrote this.

The USA of then was FAR more liberal then what we see today with government intervention in all aspects of our lives.

So let's not blame the conservatives excusely... the liberals have proven themselves far worse of late.

  • Chris DeGarmo is amazing and wrote the majority of Mindcrime. I feel that Queensryche took a bit of a dive initially when Degarmo left but they recovered nicely. Still one of the best metal bands ever...

  • geoff's butt at 4:20! DAMN!

  • What is funny is that they are obviously un-happy with the right wing, but the left wing government is swinging so far left with Obama, that this story could apply to the far left as well.

  • And as I just mentioned, the PMRC they mention was fronted by democrats, or the so-called "liberals".

  • OMG! I used to have all the HARD AND HEAVY vids. The cartoons are hilarious. lol!!!

  • I just realized in fact I like Degarmo's solos generally, I mean it! He's a cool guy.

  • Comment removed

  • "Rage for Order" - (Produced by Neil Kernon) is the first masterpiece by this great band. There are very few bands that have done what this band has done. Hopefully some day DeGarmo will rejoin and another masterpiece will be written and recorded.

We need another masterpiece. . . Chris. . . Where are you brother???

  • if you had listen "some people fly" of "hear in the now frointer" you will know where is Chris now

  • Chris Degarmo was the life blood of that band. Damn shame he left.

  • "OPERATION MINDCRIME" is and will always be a master piece!

  • queensryche the whole original band is fucking badass.

  • Ken, buddy, instead of asking me to give you a reality check, why don´t you check all this info yourself? Haven´t you heard of Patriot Act? Military Comissions Act? They will suspend the constitution indefinitely, when the next "terrorist attack" , whether real or fabricated, occurs. Haven´t you heard when they took all weapons from New Orleans people during Katrina? Doesn´t that violate one of the Constitution amendments?

  • 1. often Fascism

    a. A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

  • You failed to cite how the U.S. government has ever fit that definition you posted.

If you support DeGarmo's ignorant allegation, why aren't you providing evidence to support it?

    Webster's Dictionary:

Fascism -- a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

  • Cancelling Habeas-Corpus, trampling the US Constitution, waging war without declaring it, implementing "free-speech zones" , violating the Logan Act... Dude, are you american? Just for the record, I´m brazilian, and I´m well aware of these things.

  • Since when does Habeus Corpus apply to non-U.S. citizens? Particularly terrorists and enemy combatants captured on FOREIGN battlefields during war? Be VERY specific in your answer.

How has the U.S. constitution been "trampled on"? Again, be specific.

"Free speach zones" and "violating the Logan Act"? How so?

    Yes, I'm American.

And while I'm willing to debate the aforementioned allegations you made, I'd also like evidence of supposed "fascism" in 1990 when Chris said these things.

  • The Bilderberg meeting, for example, are chaired by non-US citizens, and they decide every major economic tendency that will affect the US. Hillary Clinton attended it , for example. And the Logan Act prohibits that. Also, this debate is complicated regarding to "fascism". This term has been changed to "corporatism": when big corporations/State are mixed, and you can´t really find the line that divide them. Example: Halliburton. Dick Cheney used to work there. And they got all contracts in Iraq.

  • What on earth do the Bilderberg meetings (yes, I know of them) have to do with habeus corpus for non-U.S. citizens or alleged fascism on the part of the U.S. government?

Quote: "Also, this debate is complicated regarding to "fascism". This term has been changed to "corporatism ...."

That's quite a spin. Ever considered a career in politics? You'd make a great liberal Democrat. You got caught falsely alleging that the U.S. government is "fascist," and you offer this absurd defense?

  • Oops ... I read your post wrong and now realize your mention of the Bilderberg meetings related to the Logan Act. My mistake.

There may in fact be the violation(s) you allege (by both Repubs and Dems); I dunno -- I haven't studied it in depth. Regardless, how would violation of the Logan Act be "fascism"?

Halliburton gets many of the contracts it does -- under BOTH Repub and Dem administrations -- because it often is the only company with the technology, equipment and know-how to do them.

  • Oh, now I got what is upsetting you so much... is this partisan BS... Does it really matter? By the way, I don´t agree either with Chris when he says "right-wing, Republican fascists" because both parties have people engaging in violating the constitution. The FED is unconstitutional!! How come you don´t see the government is criminal? Have you ever heard Eisenhower denouncing the military-industrial complex? You are too caught-up in this rep vs. dem BS. YOU would be a "good" politician...

  • First of all, for my part I'd like to ratchet down the hostility a bit. This sort of topic elicits strong emotions, but we can disagree and still carry on a civil discussion.

The "partisan" issue is relevant for two reasons: 1. Because Chris DeGarmo specifically bemoaned supposed "right-wing, Republican fascists"; and 2. The allegations of "fascism" and the sort of wrongdoings alleged by you have been aimed at the Bush administration by leftists for the past 7 years.

  • "Violating the constitution," the government being "criminal," and the "military industrial complex" may be valid topics for another discussion, but the original debate was whether or not the U.S. government is fascist.

It's been my experience that leftists love to make wild allegations based on false perceptions, Kool-Aid consumption & misguided emotion and then change the subject when they can't support their position with facts. Intentionally or not, you changed the subject from fascism.

  • well... It seems you are an adept of the right/left paradigm. I´m not. I´m not a liberal/democrat. You were asking for evidence of the mixing of state/corporations (fascism/corporatism), and I gave you several, but the main one: a former US president admiting that same point decades ago. I already said that I don´t agree with Chris when he attributes that to Rupublicans (Bush administration) exclusively, that would be naive. Where do we disagree?

  • I wasn't asking for evidence of "the mixing of state/corporations," which you are equating with fascism for some reason. They are entirely different things. Where in a dictionary definition of "fascism" is "corporatism" or the "mixing of state/corporations" mentioned?

Hitler was a socialist (as ANTI-corporatist as could be), yet that cretin was arguably the biggest fascist ever. Similar could be said of Saddam Hussein and other tyrants.

  • Explain the differences between fascism and corporatism... I thought they were the same thing.

Hitler was anti-corporations? Oh yeah, that´s why he sided with Thomas Watson from IBM and use their machinery to catalog all those people who would fall victims of that regime...

Man... will you keep calling or inferring that I´m leftist all the time? Can´t you see that this is exactly what the establishment wants so we keep arguing with each other over mindless stupid details?

  • Webster's Dictionary:

Corporatism -- the organization of a society into industrial and professional corporations serving as organs of political representation and exercising control over persons and activities within their jurisdiction.

See next post for definition of fascism.

  • Fascism -- a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Corporatism and fascism are entirely different things.

Because Hitler used IBM machinery to catalog victims, that makes him pro-corporations? Huh? Check your history -- the Nazi party was a socialist party.

  • Nazis did not simply used IBM machinery - Thomas Watson was an admirer of Hitler and supplied the equipment willingly. US has been heading into a dictatorial direction for a long time (one of definitions of fascism you took from Google) and that´s the point of this discussion... but I´m afraid you will never admit that... until there is a military boot on your face... have you researched those free-speech zones yet? Research FEMA concentration camps on Google...

  • Quote: "Nazis did not simply used IBM machinery - Thomas Watson was an admirer of Hitler and supplied the equipment willingly."

So how does that mean Hitler wasn't a socialist?

Quote: "US has been heading into a dictatorial direction for a long time (one of definitions of fascism you took from Google)"

I didn't take any definitions from Google -- the definition I used is from Webster's Dictionary (online). Do you wanna challenge its validity?

  • Man, you change subject all the time. Now you want to debate whether Hitler is a socialist or not. You are in DENIAL, won´t matter what I say. US has become a DICTATORIAL country a long time ago, this is the original point of this fruitless and useless discussion. You sound like a spokesman for the US government.

  • Quote: "US has been heading into a dictatorial direction for a long time ... and that´s the point of this discussion."

No it's not the point. You have evaded the points you can't answer and have instead tried to change the subject (or "point"). The point is whether or not the U.S. government is "fascist." And since the existence of our congress, coupled with free elections, precludes dictatorship, you are again wrong.

"FEMA concentration camps"? No hyperbole there. *rolls eyes*

  • Ok, so let´s change the subject. Is US dictatorial?

What´s the problem with FEMA concentration camps videos? Regarding the elections, there are tons of documentaries showing how Diebold systems are rigged.

  • Why change the subject? Because you can't support your allegations that the U.S. government is "fascist," which was the original subject?

Re Diebold, wow -- you really drink the Kool-Aid. This ridiculous lie started after the 2004 election when the Democrats needed another lie to stir up their base after losing to Bush again. MUST have been voting machine fraud, huh? *rolls eyes*

Funny how the same Diebold machines were used in the last congressional elections won by the Democrats.

  • Free speech zones are necessary and not in any way unconstitutional, any more than it is to prohibit yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre.

The existence of free speech zones is based on U.S. court decisions stipulating that the government may regulate the time, place, and manner — but not content — of expression. So where's the constitutional violation?

Would you allow potentially dangerous zealots to berate heads of state and dignitaries at close range, and even threaten their safety?

  • The FEMA camps -- like a myriad of other facilities in countries all over the planet -- could be used for legitimate purposes (a massive exodus of illegals over the border from Mexico, for example) or nefarious purposes. The same could be said for football stadiums or aircraft hangers, so are they "fascist" facilities too?

The are not "concentration" camps, which is disingenuous hyperbole. Regardless, I have no fear of ending up in one because I am not an enemy of the U.S.

  • I wasn't inferring you are a leftist. I suspected that in the beginning of this dialogue, but I take you at your word that you're not. My subsequent references to leftists or "the left" weren't directed at you personally -- they were mentioned because your allegations mirror -- exactly -- the venom that is directed at Bush and conservatives from the left. Lying, delusional nut jobs like Olbermann, Soros, Rosie O'Donnell and their ilk make the same sort of allegations you have all the time.

  • Given Webster's Dictionary's definition of fascism, I see zero evidence of the U.S. government ever being fascist. The problem as I see it is that leftists throw the word "fascist" around whenever they perceive a disliked conservative political figure exercising authority in a way they don't like. They are misusing the term.

The striking irony to Chris's allegation is that in the same stream of contempt, he cites the PMRC, which was headed up by Al Gore's wife. Was/is she a fascist?

  • Actually, I would probably make a terrible politician. Both the Republican and Democratic parties today disgust me, so I wouldn't be very popular amongst my colleagues. The exception would be genuine conservatives, but until the Republican party gets purged of its sellouts and self-serving greedmongers and returns to its core principles, there won't be enough to govern.

And until the Democratic party purges its closet Marxists and blame-America-first ilk, it will remain intractably corrupt.

  • In most countries, the procedure of habeas corpus can be suspended in time of national emergency. (Source: Wikipedia.) Abraham Lincoln did it, and for good reason at the time. Whether or not any part of the constitution will be "suspended indefinitely" upon the next terrorist attack is speculation on your part. We'll see.

And if your "fabricated" remark is a reference to 9/11 being a hoax or somehow orchestrated by the U.S. government, you're too far gone to even try to reason with.

  • The guns confiscated from citizens in New Orleans were taken by LOCAL law enforcement officials, not the Feds. So where's the fascism?

The word "fasicsm" has not been replaced by "corporatism" in any dictionary that I know of. The only place it has seems to be in your mind, so to evade the challenge by making such a preposterous claim only insults my intelligence (and that of anyone else reading this thread).

I asked for evidence of how the U.S. government is "fascist." I'm still waiting.

  • One more thing: You provided a list of alleged wrongdoings supposedly committed by a U.S. administration (I assume your referring ot the Bush administration). Yet even if your allegations were true, I fail to see even one that results from fascism.

List each of your allegations again and, for each one, explain how the alleged wrongdoing is characteristic of fascism.

  • To you cowards who gave my comments a thumbs-down:

If you have the facts to refute what I said, why don't you post them instead of anonymously giving me a thumbs-down and then running away like a spineless coward?

Oh, that's right -- you're leftists, so being spineless & dishonest goes with the territory, doesn't it?

In your response, state the definition of the word "fascist" and cite, specifically, how the U.S. government has ever fit that definition. Either put up or shut up.

  • It's a shame Chris doesn't know the definition of the word "fascist." If he did, he would recognize that the U.S. government -- PARTICULARLY under "right wing" Republican administrations -- has always been the exact OPPOSITE of fascist. Prioritizing the individual over the state, freedom of the press, the very existence of our Congress, and free-market capitalism are all characterists that are the EXACT OPPOSITE of fascism.

Oh, and the PMRC was headed up by a DEMOCRAT: Tipper Gore. *wink*

  • "I mean we've got nothing about right wing concervative fascist governments that run the united states"

    Greatest... quote... ever.

  • DeGarmo saw that the QR tank was empty. They had peaked on both artistic and then commercial levels with Mindcrime and Empire. He had another dream..to fly..he had the funds to finance that dream and he was like "rock star been there, done that" Wise choice IMO. QR is now playing small venues, every night must be a disappointment for them as well as the fans.. proof that they are done? attempting MindcrimeII w/out DeGarmo, that's desperate. Go Chris, run as far away as you can!

  • Why did DeGarmo leave and become a charter pilot? Seems like he threw away his God-given talent on guitar, and Queensryche stinks without him. Him & Geoff Tate had some magical chemistry onstage and on the early albums. Everything after "Empire" really stunk, though....after I heard "Promised Land", I knew they were past their prime.

  • I like empire and mindcrime very much, but all the albums after those are really weak...are their other albums of them which are good, or do you know an other band with such great melodies as queensryche?

  • "Empire" was great, but a little too glossy and not very morose and depressing, which is what had made us the happiest w/ the Ryche! haha. i do like "Promised Land". after that, ive enjoyed "breakdown" but little else.

  • Degarmo left and the band is a cheap comparison to the Queensryche that was. I have seen Q.R. live since they opened up for Metallica for and justice. Every time i see them with out Chris I am always disapointed.

  • Yes the band will not be the same without Chris and you are right some of the band members are not that appealing to look at but they must have something going for them, their fan base loves them. I used to really like their music until it started to stink. Needless to say I do not listen to them any more. Oh how I miss the music of the eighties and early ninties. Sometimes its best to know when its time to move on like Chris did.

  • Chris and Geoff definitely had this magic chemistry goin' on between them on stage.

As far as I'm concerned, it WAS a marriage made in heaven no matter what difficulties they may have had on a more personal level.

I miss Chris, he was my fav!

Joesalinas1990; nobody seems to know exactly why Chris left. All we know is that he now works as a private airlinepilot. Too bad for us.

  • Chris and Geoff are one of those marriages made in heaven. they had such an affinity with each other none will ever reach the same quality as misicians as they do together, being separated.Just like Ian gillan and Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Astburry and Billy duffy, or Flea and Anthony keidis, billy gould and Patton, Sambora and Bon Jovi etc etc.

  • Not saying that you're wrong, but one of th emain reasons that deep purple broke up in the first place was that gillan and blackmore never could come to a single conclusion. In the end they nearly couldn't be in the same room together.

  • Youre right. its even very evident in the who do we think we are album, if you take the lyrics to "Smooth dancer" gillan is reffering to his difficulties with Blackmore. during the recordings they would go to the studio on diff days. having said that, their joint venture produced superb material,"In Rock" and "Machine head" went down musical hist. gillan heavy duty partying played key factors in their differences. blackmore is a grand master guitar player, morse is a joke to me.

  • Fertile creative pairs often didn't get along well: Lennon-McCartney, Rose-Stradlin, Daltrey-Townshend, Stills-Young, McGuinn-Crosby, Buckingham-Nicks, Hetfield-Ulrich.

Chris DeGarmo was Queensryche's musical center. Unfortunately, the alchemy was gone near the end -- Hear in the Now Frontier and Tribe were mediocre even with his involvement. One rarely mentioned aspect he took with him was backing vocals. Geoff Tate lost a very effective, high-harmony foil when DeGarmo left.

  • You are SO right. Nobody ever realizes a singer is only as good as the guys backing him up.

  • I have a friend who is mostly a hip-hop and black-music fan, and even he was hooked onto this band's Unplugged performance, specifically the acoustic-guitar harmonies on "I Will Remember". He also said he was shocked when he heard DeGarmo sing the "The star that came tonight" line in the last chorus. He'd thought Geoff Tate had somehow managed to sing with himself.

  • yeah its that case with alice in chains, layne staley was up front but jerry cantrell played a huge pary with his background vocals as well

  • loved AIC. still feeling the loss, after all these years.

  • why did chris leave the band? can anybody tell me

  • This band will never be complete "for me" without Degarmo, he was such a central part of that unique queensryche sound and the absence of his song writing is so apparent, Geoff is a great song writer, but when he and Chris were sharing the writing duties the albums were just better.

  • Why am here and for how long?

  • I sometimes wonder if Chris DeGarmo ever looks back while he's flying planes now and realizes how much of an important part he was to Queensryche. I wish he'd just do SOMETHING. We lost a pretty damn good guitarist and songwriter.

  • Chris DeGarmo in fact WAS Queensryche. There is no progression for Queensryche without Chris. He is responsible for writing all of the "melodic hooks" and classic Queensryche flow that we all know and love.

  • Lol, that album was above the PMRC's heads.

  • Chris Degarmo made the band, Queensryche is NOT the same without Chris. Too heavy, not melodic or lush tones. Now it's very heavy and not at all interesting. Geoff is fat.

  • I agree 100%. They willNEVER be the same without Chris.Good comment...

  • I also agree with you, too. I hates to say that much I love Queensryche, but, their music isn't the same anymore.

  • Some of the band member are fat and awful looked as well.

  • Great video, brings back older memories - thanks for sharing :-)

  • It's so funny how DeGarmo tries to explain it, when Tate actually wrote the story.

Don't believe me? Check the booklet in the Operation: Mindcrime deluxe edition.

  • The Ryche are playing the entirety of Mindcrime I and II in the UK in June 2008. Can't wait to see this amazing 3 hour concert. Ryche rool!

  • LOVE the sarcasm....it's so True, though....what they say....

  • I can't believe his voice was so good and he smoked. Don't do it kids!!

  • Operation Mindcrime 1 is the best fucking album ever! There isnt a bad song on the entire album!

  • i when to London in 2005 for only 5 days(first time), and was soo lucky i found out Queensryche was playin the next night, so i went, tkts where all soldout, not even one scalper outside!!!amazing. With my sad face a girl inside waitin 4 someone, came down the stairs and hand me her extra tkt! just like that...then rushed inside and had the time of my life, British are soo different havin fun, drinkin, smokin inside, climbin walls, sidewalls, just to see them, it was awesome, just awesome.

  • Sweet :)

  • You know what? I'm a conservative & my politics are completely contrary to the anti-American, whiny, simpering, socialist, liberal agenda of the musicians. Despite that fact, this album is brilliant. It is the most complete package I have ever listened to. An aural adventure, a modern epic, like the Aeneid, the Iliad, or Oedipus Rex set to music. The themes were way before their time, that is why they are still relevant & topical today. Genius!

  • Good news for you: a Mindcrime movie is in the works.

  • Thanx Doggman. Glad to they're doing a movie. Seems like I've been waiting for it forever.

  • Queensryche rule!!!! What the hell was De Garmo thinking when he left??? Nevertheless Qryche still rule the universe!!!

  • Take it easy man! Grab yourself a beer. Go get a chair. Sit down.

Now tell me what's troubling you son!

  • Oh yeah, never get tired of Queensryche. LEGENDS. I got to me Mr Tate recently. Nice guy.

I wish Chris had never left, he was integral.

He's a pilot now ya know...

  • Twenty years on, this album has even more relevance than when it was released. They didn't play "SPEAK" on the Melbourne 2006 tour. Inciting Violence/Terrorism is now an offence here too. "Right wing fascist governments," there everywhere.

No matter how often I play Operation:Mindcrime, it always sounds like the mindblowing first time. Do you remember your first time. he he.

  • Operation Mindcrime is the best album ever.Period!

  • "We're writing about cars and women. We got nothing against conservative, facist governments that run the US", (obvious hair metal diss :P) LMFAO...

  • I just fell in love with Chris all over again.

  • Great Interwive!!!

  • Indeed. Gorgeous

  • smoking did hit his voice a bit. But geoff was on and off of it from 86-91 from what ive read. He was hooked during PL times and continued until HITNF tour. I think he was on and off after PL, but he did enough to permanently change his speaking voice to a groggy tone. Luckily he quit during HITNF tour and his voice in my opinion is just as good as what it was minus anything higher than the high e sung in take hold (cant do blinded screams anymore, big deal)

  • It's not smoking. It's time. He got older, so did his voice. Everyone passes throught it, except mr. Coverdale.

  • What year did he start smoking?

  • Probably when he was in junior high...

  • I'm sure you can get the video from their website

  • Its the smoking that ruined his voice it all started there I hate cigarettes!

  • Smoking does indeed suck. Agree with you totally. QR rocks. Top ten bands, without a doubt.

  • no animals were harmed making that cancer stick.

  • surprised to see geoff smoking. he doesnt seem like the type

  • yeah i noticed that on the videocrime dvd, i was like "whoa wtf! how does he sing so awesome AND smoke!?" heh

  • lol! i was thinking the same thing:D

  • I can't believe it either. He smokes, he has such depth in his normal speaking voice, but has an absolutely incredible vocal range.

  • ...he smokes and here's the thingy: He doesnt swallow!

  • No he use to smoke alot, geoff became very strict with his health on the road after falling ill and missing alot of the Hear Now in the New Fronteir album.

  • Awesome!! How did you get the video?? I wanna get it!!!

  • I think now more than ever Operation:Mindcrime is the reality of America in 2006. Obviously during those times you didn't have unjust wars, a failing economy, a lying/greedy President who uses the war for his own gain, high gas prices, no healthcare, and etc....

So I firmly believe Mindcrime and the concept is very much like America today.

  • EXACTLY. It's been getting more and more evident by the passing years. Resist The New World Order! (Look into who Alex Jones is, and what he does. Do a search.) WAKE UP, AMERICA!

  • Alex Jones is a loon.

  • And you are an ignorant MORON. What's new? Your kind obviously knows nothing of importance worth anything. Just keep living with your heads in the sand; you'll be the first to go when that certain day comes. (David Icke is even better at exposing things.) Anyway, people actually looking into issues of Truth know what's really up, like (as a little example here) 'CSETI' and the 'Disclosure Project'. ( 2010 - 2012 )

  • Very true.

  • Nobody asked a boot-licking scumbag such yourself. Label us whatever you want, fools; you are going to get yours' in the end, paying for your stupidity and ignorance. Enjoy slavery..

  • Nobody asked a boot-licking scumbag such as yourself. Label us whatever you want, fools; you are going to get yours' in the end, paying for your stupidity and ignorance. Enjoy ultimate slavery..
