If you have ever listened to the commentary of this film, by its director/writer Ken Russell, he says he was so pleased by the young actor's performance, he actually had the actor drowned in the tub. And it is quite a realistic performance, too, as he says and does what most underaged teenage boys would do, when confronted by a woman out of his league.

Have you seen his other performances? I have, and this is his best performance in comparison to his other film and TV appearances.
And he does a better job portraying a teenage character than some 20 somethings I have seen trying to portray a teenager. As maybe, he is not much older than his character in the film.

Top acting, indeed! If you have ever listened to the commentary of this film, by its director/writer Ken Russell, he says he was so pleased by the young actor's performance, he actually had the actor drowned in the tub. But, if you have ever seen any of the young actor's other roles, this is probably his best performance. And it is quite a realistic performance, too, as he says and does what most underaged teenage boys would do, when confronted by a woman out of his league.
