barbaro! had his life not become a media story nobody would have remembered him, thats just how people are. in this game your still remembered for one thing, and one thing only and that is called GTEATNESS.

Exactly, this poor horse has alot to live up to. Of all the three year old's racing, only one wins the derby, just one. That pretty long odds even with the same breeding. Barbaro was one of a select few who captured hearts both on and off the track. Those kind of champions don't come along every day.....racing is a tough game.

Horse racing is littered with full brothers/sisters to great horses that are'nt much good,its not a big thing,although he still might be worth a few quid at stud.

We don't get a horse like Barbaro very often, and I think it's a little unfair that we all judge Nicanor just because he's not what his brother was. He's doing VERY well, considering the fact that this is only his second race, and not many racehorses even do as well as this. Maybe we'll see more out of him as he gets more experienced :) Either way, I've got to say, he's more of a looker than Barbaro was (and that's really saying something coming from me, Barbaro's biggest fan).

Good points, his jockey says he's still a little green, just messin around, watchin the other horses. He'll mature, maybe he'll race as a 4 year old :)

Are you people nuts!?Nicanor is far better than he is showing! Do you really think that Matz will let it all hang out in his second race? I dont want to see you people jumping on the bandwagon when he shows his other gear.This horses will be way more than a sprinter.Youre just being predjudice and biased because of Barbaro!I understand that!bBut it is way too early to say that he gasses out too early.

I think he might be a "late bloomer" and could eventually go on to be a great handicapper, but I'm not sure he's fit to run in any triple crown race.

By the way he ran this race, I know he's going to get even better. I know he didn't win, but it was only his second time out. There aren't a lot of horses who win their second race. He did a great job.

Good for a second start, but not impressive. He's going to stay an allowance horse. I know he's a brother to Barbaro, but in most cases you don't get the same result, the same talent. Barbaro was a one-of-a kind horse. Sorry to break it to you people, this horse isn't going to be the next triple crown winner.

I totally agree. I was hoping he would be but, it look's like he could be a good handicap horse like Seabiscuit. Maybe his next race would be better.

I totally agree. He could be a sprinter. He's no distancer like his sire, Dynaformer, and Barbaro. There is never going to be another Barbaro (maybe when Lentenor races, but we'll see). There is one horse like Barbaro every 30 years and the last time there was one like him, it was when Ruffian was racing.

he is improving i dont know if he is a derby horse threre is twenty slots but over seas horses are gonna get a couple slots. i think he will run in the preakness not alot of derby horses make that quick 2 week turnaround

If he gets in a graded stakes and wins it matz mite consider the derby, hes only a three year old one and he probably won't win but he could look toward the arlington milion or the travers
