I have more ram now, this no longer occurs but I still get random issues. The 9800 GX2 is useless. I might upgrade to a 5870 or GTX 480 in the future.
Nforce chipsets are a bit buggy, I've seen problems from micro-studdering, to crashes with heavy anti-aliasing on multi-GPUs, to straight up non-posting and booting. The 790i however seems to be a stable chipset. Maybe not enough RAM to suppply 2 video cards with enough data?
crysis engineers suck for not releasing a patch that addresses this issue, i use 2x8800 GTXs and get SERIOUS microstuttering when my frame rate goes below 40fps.
wait what do you mean single gpu video cards??? i have a nforce 750a sli motherboard with a 9400gt but when i disable the nforce onboard gpu its still there.=[
micro stutter suks man, you spend thousands of pounds/dollars/euros whatever, on a nice system that uses 2 or more GPU s and what do you get, high framerates that look like low framerates. What a complete con!
Micro-stuttering doesn't matter when you've got like 10 fps.

it looks like an HDD is doing something besides loading the game
gandrurass 1 year ago
first of all your only getting 10fps.

doesnt look like MS. You just need a better card I think. And if you want 100% assurance of having no MS get a single card setup.

your drivers crash that why idot

This is NOT micro stutter.
You have extremely low FPS IS ALL.
Hell 5-17 fps is your problem.

nvidia recommends directx10 to avoid the stuttering.

get more ram
Timbojones0123 1 year ago
THat's not microstutter. That is problem with lack of ram or one very shitty HDD that needs a serious defrag.

A 9800 GX2 and a quad core extreme should have no problems running crysis:warhead, or at least not as bad as this.
E1025 1 year ago
Maxed out it will lag the entire time, full AA and everything will make a overclocked 295 lag to hell.
dirtbikeryzz 1 year ago
I'm only running it on high (NOT very high) with no AA at all.
A 9600 GT can handle this.
E1025 1 year ago
@dirtbikeryzz i max crysis Full very high got about 38+ FPS with a GTX 260 core 216 SC with no AA 60+ FPS

when you play at 10-15fps you cant really complain about microstuttering, if it was above 30+ and you saw odd slowdowns then yeah, you would have it.
df1rools 2 years ago
how can you keep your game from microstuddering?
forsakenfallenangel 2 years ago
Dual-gpu video cards cause the problem.
if you want to get rid of micro-stutter, use single-gpu video cards.

This only happens on certain cards, I've never had this happen on my 9800 GX2
