Lower taxes on the middle class is fair, but for someone who wants lower taxes so they can make 12million instead of 10million is not realistic. The fact that the U.S spends almost 60% of its annual budget defence is absurd. Raising taxes on corporations sending jobs overseas and lowering taxes on the poor/middle class would encourage spending and hence help business to create more jobs.

My last comment. The system in place in the USA today is not real capitalism. Capitalism is when the government gets out of the way and lets the markets work. What is in place in the USA today is much closer to corporatism. The government introduces regulation and laws that benefit corporate entities. If government stopped meddling in the markets there wouldn't be such horrendously powerful companies. Liberty will make the market even out and no corporation will become a monster like they have.
I understand the concepts you are talking about but you are too idealistic about the market system, which always ends up in monopolies (because those who have early 'success', whether ill-gotten or otherwise, can always afford better staff, better facilities, better promotion etc., which gives them a huge advantage in the long run). Markets never look after people's welfare, only social programs can do that.

Like i said, REAL capitalism will keep monopolies at bay, the reason monopolies get power is because companies lobby government and get government to disobey the free market concept and put in legislation that indirectly benefits the companies. India, China, and other countries have labor friendly policies that enable much of their population to get a job. And our companies only pay those people so little because they have to cover the other costs associated with outsourcing workers.

Borders can't be "fixed" but there can be harsher illegal immigration laws. Government can't create jobs without stealing from all of it's citizens to do so. Yes it is, but alot of people don't pay their emergency room bills because they cannot deny you ER service. However besides the ER to see any doctor you usually have to pay out the ass, there are some programs like Medicare that help pay healthcare bills and medicine but you have to be very poor to get them and they don't cover alot. Healthcare and Medicine are very expensive in the U.S.

Secondly, if you are referring to unemployment benefit as a subsection of the British welfare state then it's quite simple really; you don't give people enough to be happy. The designer of the Welfare State, Lord Beveridge, said that if you only give unemployed people enough to sustain themselves and not enough to be happy, then they would look for work.

Lower taxes on the middle class is fair, but for someone who wants lower taxes so they can make 12million instead of 10million is not realistic. The fact that the U.S spends almost 60% of its annual budget defence is absurd. Raising taxes on corporations sending jobs overseas and lowering taxes on the poor/middle class would encourage spending and hence help business to create more jobs.

My last comment. The system in place in the USA today is not real capitalism. Capitalism is when the government gets out of the way and lets the markets work. What is in place in the USA today is much closer to corporatism. The government introduces regulation and laws that benefit corporate entities. If government stopped meddling in the markets there wouldn't be such horrendously powerful companies. Liberty will make the market even out and no corporation will become a monster like they have.

I understand the concepts you are talking about but you are too idealistic about the market system, which always ends up in monopolies (because those who have early 'success', whether ill-gotten or otherwise, can always afford better staff, better facilities, better promotion etc., which gives them a huge advantage in the long run). Like i said, REAL capitalism will keep monopolies at bay, the reason monopolies get power is because companies lobby government and get government to disobey the free market concept and put in legislation that indirectly benefits the companies. Power companies and water supply companies are great examples of government made monopolies.

@tassiemarketstall For instance, when a government puts a minimum wage on a market, companies are forced to raise employees wages (a good thing), however, to compensate for this increase in cost they hire less employees (a much worse than just having lower pay). So the company then invests in capital (like automatic friers, robots to build cars, ATMs, machine manufacturing etc..) to replace the need to employ workers. Now this is only one aspect, but if min. wage was cut, employment would go up.

Borders can't be "fixed" but there can be harsher illegal immigration laws. Government can't create jobs without stealing from all of it's citizens to do so. Yes it is, but alot of people don't pay their emergency room bills because they cannot deny you ER service. However besides the ER to see any doctor you usually have to pay out the ass, there are some programs like Medicare that help pay healthcare bills and medicine but you have to be very poor to get them and they don't cover alot. Decreasing regulation, eliminating medicare/medicaid, and taking away laws that require health insurance or that prohibit buying medicine from other countries would all decrease the cost of healthcare substantially. Rather than fix what the government did with more government we should just repeal the laws that caused the problems.

Secondly, if you are referring to unemployment benefit as a subsection of the British welfare state then it's quite simple really; you don't give people enough to be happy. The designer of the Welfare State, Lord Beveridge, said that if you only give unemployed people enough to sustain themselves and not enough to be happy, then they would look for work.

It's not socialism if everyone has to pay into a system that benefits all Americans in the long term. This is DEMOCRACY people!!! It ain't perfect!!! & the government can interfere due to the Commerce Clause he clause states that the United States Congress shall have power "To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes." That people is in our constitution!!! Thus the gov't has a right to make these healthcare reforms and SHOULD!!!
