  • This is what I'm talking about. :D

  • I see here many people speaking and critisizing Alexei, but I'm not sure that they can do even 1% of what Alexei did. Besides, here he played with a broken finger and even so he didn't really have any problem with the speed. Instead of looking for mistakes pay more attention to the music, the interpretation and the emotion expressed by the pianist. RIP Alexei

  • @Definidramin So you suppose we musn't write bad things about his perfomance because he was a concert pianist, genius ect., and we are just people, maybe musicians?))

  • Hypertrophy!

  • and this was even before van cliburn competition. so he's younger than 19 here. a boy

  • @Verityseo here he was 16!!

  • Even from this excerpt, this was actually pretty messy. I want to hear pianists that can play it accurately before they speed up to impress. Thumbs down.

  • @kdlm99 Have you ever considered that "accuracy" doesn't just include getting the notes right?

  • let's hear your version

  • the timming is perfect and the interpretation are perfect... altough at min 1:36 i played a wrong key but that's the only problem. This ending is greatest i every hearded ;).

  • It was awesome. The passion that he put into this piece was magnificent. It is true, certain parts he could have played cleaner but however in respect to the end, this is the speed that Bethoven inteded it. I play the end exactly the same speed that he played it. Obviously some people play it slower but it was intended in this speed.

  • wrong notes? i was on the edge of my seat watching that.

  • too much speed, wrong notes

  • How did he get away with hitting so many wrong notes?

  • The same way he did by hitting even more correct ones.

  • It's probably because the audience doesn't know the difference.

  • Notes don't matter; music is emotion not pitch.

  • That has to be the dumbest statement I have ever read on youtube.

  • Are you a fucking idiot? You asked a question and I gave you my answer. Music def. The art or science of combining sounds to produce form, harmony, and expression of emotion. I would have been an idiot to state an opinion without support, but I didn't. You did though, so your just an ass...

  • "You did though, so your just an ass"

Uh....it's "you're," and not "your" you uneducated idiot.

  • Fuck face, I know what a contraction is. All you have on me is a syntax error?

*Eminboztepe, said: (It's "you're," and not "your" you uneducated idiot.) "and" should not be in your sentence. Why? It makes the first clause incomplete. Your correction of my sentence is one single thought, not two! Second, there should be a comma to break for the second clause, because it is a new statement. As corrected:

It's "you're" not "your," you uneducated idiot. What now bitch?

  • No, you do not know what a contraction is. Otherwise, you would have typed "you're" instead of "your".

By the way, my sentence is grammatically correct. Nice try, though.

You uneducated idiots need to spend more time in school and less time on youtube.

By the way, resorting to childish name calling like "fuck face" and "bitch" doesn't help the little credibility you have left.

How old are you, 12? Sheesh....

  • Your rebuttals have been based off of simple errors and assumptions. You have not written anything related to the original confrontation. You have just been dancing around avoiding the ultimate truth, that you were wrong. You made a criticism without support; That's how you were wrong. I don't care if you think my opinion is stupid. Now you know where I'm coming from.+Your sentence is wrong. If it really isn't, explain how it is correct. Without support, it reads like ignorance and denial.

  • I made a valid critcism; you just chose not to accept it. By your logic, I could be considered a great musician by merely banging piano keys in some random order as long as I displayed great emotion.

Now go back to your comic books.

  • I hope you realize that man played for Horowitz privately on many occasions. It was not a valid criticism. A criticism is an analysis and judgment of the merits and faults of a literary or artistic work. Where the was your analysis? You just said I was dumb. Are you even out of school you little squat? Where the hell could you have gone if you even passed high school english and writing. ITT tech?

  • "I hope you realize that man played for Horowitz privately on many occasions. It was not a valid criticism."

Uh, yes, it was a valid criticism. You just didn't like it. Playing for Horowitz doesn't change the fact that he hit so many wrong notes.

Again, go back to your comic books.

  • You could be a great musician if you appealed to a large enough audience, and guess how you do that? Through hard work and determination. I bet you have never have gotten a chill listing to anything. When you respond how about you actually debate me instead of making assumptions

  • "You could be a great musician if you appealed to a large enough audience, and guess how you do that? Through hard work and determination."

    Another dumb kiddie statement.

I could play pro-football in front of thousands through "work and determination," but it doesn't prove that I am a great football player.

Really, these kiddie arguments are starting to bore me.

  • Dude, if you want to think that way... Just crack open a Bud, get a wide screen and settle for a fat, bitchy wife. While you do that I'll be nailing the all the good lookin' bitches...

  • Yep, you must be 12 years old.

    Have fun on myspace.

  • As for your advice on how to spend my time? You can shove it up your ass. Are we responding back and forth on a video of someone lighting their farts on fire? No. This is a video of great music, played by a great performer, which a small % of the populous listens to. You tube is an immense asset, if you use it for your advantage. If you have anything to write that is worth while, I'll listen....

  • "You can shove it up your ass."

Another intelligent response. I can only assume that you are some 12-year-old adolescent who has to resort to childish insults when you don't get your way.

Go back to myspace. You'll find that you will fit in there better.

  • Excellent final...

  • I like the judge that yawns as he gets to the coda....

  • very good, plus he was up to speed

  • I heard him in Warsaw Chopin Competition. He played Fentasy on the polish theme so beautiful.

  • Nil nisi mortuis bonum. But why do so many pianists try to show off by playing this piece at a speed they can't handle?

  • @slobone nerves.

  • he is so good! i just hope he could be a little bit careful in his playings though

  • So talented he was. Tragic he died so young,at 35. He was so great, no wonder he won the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition!

  • And what's so funny?

  • Learn some english dude.

  • have you heard this guy play at the van Cliburn.he is impressive.

  • I heard him in Pasadena right after he won the Van Cliburn competition. Wow! I have loved his playing ever since. His Mephisto Waltz by Liszt is perfection! I was so sad to hear about his death.

  • It' not a club..
