omg<The Eighties soap, that was a nice scene with Nicola and David saying goodbye, and even though the acting on this show was hardly going to win major awards, it does make you think there was time and effort put into shows back then, you hardly get scenes like that now.
Yes they were dropped by the new producer, who was told to really get rid and "change it for change sake" they didn't ask him to improve the show. The Hollywood soap never happened as Ronnie was refused a work permit apparently... But they did return and do a few UK shows. Bergerac ect.
Does anyone have an idea what the "gifts" were that they were presented with by Miranda,, and why would Adam say we will look after them until you get back?
Stan Harvey's return was a massive re-write, as they had actually planned to bring back Noele Gordon, as Meg, but these plans fell through when she fell ill
I agree, this was the beginning of the end. Next for the chop would be Susan Hanson as Miss Diane, Kath Brownlow and Benny. By the end the only characters anybody cared about was Jill and Adam.
This really was the beginning of the end for me. I love a lot of what Mr.Bowman did, but it was too much too soon. And as far as I'm concerened Ronald Allen is one of the finest and most well crafted actors it has ever been my privilege to watch.
It was the end of an era for Crossroads and for us fans when David and Barbara were written out!

I recall they both moved to Hollywood to pursue a career there, but it never took off.

At least The Hunters got a happy exit, disgusted when Miss Diane was killed off.
Then in the remake Jill was killed by Adam,no wonder the later Crossroads flopped!

Have you got any more 1985-1988 Crossroads episodes?
soapfunclassics 2 years ago
Yeah quite a few, I'll put a few more bits on.

Can you upload some of the episodes. I would like to see some with the awful Kings Oak theme tune used from Sept 1987-April 1988.
