  • welcome to hell ):0

  • So bummed the studio destroyed these deleted scenes.

  • BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!

    LET THE GALAXY BURN!

  • No worse than the stuff in the hellraiser movies. It actually kind of resembles the fucked up stuff the cenobites do to people, maybe that's where they went O_o

  • You know, one of the most underrated movies i know. When i 13 i was scared shitless when i finished watching.

  • there was no need to delete that was cool

  • After seeing this, I can see why people consider this part of the Warhammer 40k universe. That is Chaos

  • I find this incredibly hard to masturbate to

  • I liked the progression of Sam Neil's character throughout the movie. Almost like what happens to the original crew slowly happens to him.

  • 0:16 i can see nylon packing on his face.

  • Are these deleted scenes on the bluray or just the dvd? Any chance of someone uploading the deleted scenes?

  • Sam Neill at the end is all like, "Yeah, bitch, whatever..."

  • @zionravescene I imagined him saying "Well, that's just how I roll" =P

  • The movie would of been much better....they should of least kept the film....

  • I have the weirdest boner right now.

  • @ZaneBarrow i`m glad thats one horror scene we`ll never see espically on youtube, just reading your post is giving me nightmares.

  • @scissorphilip LMFAO

  • Yeah... I'm sorry, but by that point in the movie, if you were still watching, you knew what you'd signed up for. I'd agree with cutting those scenes from *most* horror movies, but not Event Horizon- and as for trying to get it rated R, honestly, this movie should have been rated X anyway. Though I guess that would limit what sort of places would even rent/sell/show it at all... so, end the end, you should blame the pussy-ass theaters and video rental stores.

  • This reminds me of Hellraizer :D

  • ++++Adeptus Mechanicus reminder: Warp travel without the protection of a Gellar Field is unadvised. All praise to the Omnissiah.++++

  • masturbation material

  • We're leaving.

  • HAD THIS FILM BEEN MADE NOW, ALL THE DELETED SCENES WOULD'VE REMAINED IN THE ORIGINAL CUT.

  • For those who want to know why the scenes were deleted...

The original cut (which had these scenes, and many more but they were lost because paramount felt they were not needed) was too long and too violent for public. Screening tests proved the scenes were too much and Paul Anderson (director) was forced to cut the scenes out. Thus the released version was created.

  • Best,and,Scariest movie ever made...Wow!!!!!

  • They cut around 20 mins from the film, I'm pretty sure all of it appears on the Directors Cut version of the DVD :D

  • No director's cut, the footage wasn't preserved so it doesn't exist anymore :(

  • THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING

  • Why was I deprived from seeing this??

  • Are these te scenes on the special edition dvd?

  • God damn that was fantastic, why the FUCK did they cut this?! I can't believe they cut 20 minutes of soul-shattering sci-fi horror in an attempt to make it more marketable.

  • Well thank god for that, the movie didn't give me enough nightmare fuel the first time around.

  • this is horror.

  • I just can't see Sam Neil as anything other then tht Dr. He played in Jurrasic Park.

  • @mechanism8 nop. sam neil movies, or is a bad guy (watch possession 1981) or the main actor on a fine horror movie.

  • Ohhhh maaaan... i llooooooooveee this movieeee... is really macabre, and i looove the scientific theories made in a movie, that makes me feel sooo goooood...! (Hey! I don't like the violence, but this movie is really great, and im sad about the censure...)

  • "Hell is just a word...."

  • Welcome to the Immaterium! d:

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey This is why we have Gellar Fields!

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey I wonder how many more Warhammer fans are out there.

  • @TheWitnesserer I was until I went the way of the Eight-pointed Star!!!

  • @TheEyez187 Hahahaha, nice.

  • Dr. Weird!

  • Clive barker would love this!

  • I find it quite hypocritical that hollywood cut scenes like this for being too "graphic" yet they have no problem when the kykes produce all their sadist filth such as the Hostel movies, or any of that other pseudo-rubbish tarantino and his pals like to spew out every once in while that get hailed as "masterpieces"... yeah right, go suck on a fat one imdb!

  • @JPeachBand Tarantino isn't even Jewish. His father was an Italian American and his mother was of Irish and Cherokee ancestry. If you're referring to Eli Roth, yeah, his films are terrible movies all around. But I really don't see what that has to do with where his ancestors came from...

Event Horizon is a decent horror movie. Don't get your racism all over it.

...And it's spelled "Kike". Just... I don't even...

  • @Slobinitiate I cant be that racist then can I? if I cant even spell the damn word right! look I wasnt being malicious I was only crtiticising them...oh yes even that can get you locked up nowadays for being "antismetic"...haha funny that, you cannot deny the fact that hollywood is both run by jews to benefit the jews and that most of the stuff it produces today is damn right awful and degenerate garbage with poor social consequences whether you liberals like it or not. My argument is rational.

  • @JPeachBand I dunno if I'd call Eli Roth part of Hollywood, dude. The guy is a bit too despised to be popular in the circles of vapidity.

And on another note, I haven't really noticed an overabundance of any particular race in Hollywood.

And on a lesser note... I'm not even a liberal. I just... I don't fucking EVEN...

  • @JPeachBand

Well this movie did come out before Saw, which pretty much introduced Hollywood to mainstream torture-porn like Hostel. And fuck that, Tarantino is great.

  • Resident evil 2 licker????

  • Can totally understand how the previous generations saw this and were appalled. That being said; Fuck Censorship!

  • the shortest distance....is zero you gotta post that scene

  • That scene it's pretty disturbing if you consider that the film was released before gorier films like hostel or martyrs, but on the other hand if you enjoy this "visions of hell" stuff ,go check the hellraiser saga

  • There's a lot of deleted scenes from "hell" but they were cut to shorten the film and because they were to graphic and violent and sadly all that footage was either lost or destroyed.

  • I live by certain rules for films:

    Never too much suspense

    Never too much dakka

    Never too much gore

NEVER TOO MUCH GORE GOD-DAMN IT!!!! I WANT MY GORE!!! FUCK YOU PARAMOUNT!!!

  • What kind of pussy ass bitch motherfucker deletes scenes from a HORROR MOVIE because it's too fucking SCARY?! It's a fucking horror movie, you're supposed to be fucking scared, you're supposed to piss yourself, squeeze your buddy's hand so tight that it comes off. If a horror movie isn't scaring the living fuck out of you then it's not doing it's fucking JOB. Talk about using some BACKWARDS LOGIC, paramount.

  • @catastrophucked That will be the type of pussy the shitty hollywood gay director paul w anderson is, c'mon the man raped resident evil games and thats fucking tabu

  • @catastrophucked the movie was cut for the gore aspect, not the horror. They had to cut the gore in order to get the R rating, so blame the pussy-ass bitch motherfuckers who hand out film ratings, not Paramount. That's not backwards logic, that's how it is.

  • @catastrophucked It's pretty obvious, dude. They were looking out for the bottom dollar just like people do in any business. The only "backwards logic" is assuming they just did it on a whim.

  • @RedPirateLord Same reason At The Mountains Of Madness didn't get made. Del Toro wouldn't budge on an 'R' rating, and the exec didn't think an 'R' movie was profitable.

Hey execs: see A Nightmare On Elm Street.

    =/

  • @catastrophucked It's not about the scenes being scary, but too gory. It's a shame they did delete them and most of them are lost forever.

  • @catastrophucked Plus it seems like the people who raise hell about movies being too graphic aren't the fuckers who will see the movie. They just want things their way, period.

  • @catastrophucked 35 minutes of film was deleted, so much potential lost :(

  • @catastrophucked They were deleted because leaving them in would've gotten the movie an NC-17 rating, which is the kiss of death as far as profits are concerned. Their logic is perfectly sound.

  • Most were deleted because they were counter effective, in the commentary the producer said at certain times the scenes would take the audience from the fear and put them just into disgust. Like when Peters sees her son it originally had a part where there were maggots in his legs but the test audience just wasn't scared any more when it went to the maggots and just sickened.

  • @catastrophucked

horror movies are supposed to be unsettling not disgusting, there's a fine line between scary horror and excessive disgusting gore, it's the same fine line between a tasteful food or a food with too much salt in it

  • @OurBestMusicChannel Wrong. They're supposed to be effective and scary on multiple levels AND they're supposed to make money. In any case, these scenes were not "excessive" by any means. Seeing these scenes makes me realize why I liked that movie and how cool it could've been, a real classic.

They could re-release this movie, a director's cut with the original footage, and make a quick $20M or so in DVD, cable and streaming revenues. And make its mark as a true horror classic.

  • @razurrrr

you can disagree with them about the choice of cutting those scenes but it's not like that was a simple decision like "oh, they're too scary". It actually was a decision based on "balance" that every director should make. A movie needs an equilibrium between right and too much, an horror movie expecially needs an equilibrium and avoid that point where horror becomes disgust, because that's when an horror becomes actually less scary

  • @OurBestMusicChannel Hard to argue with that. But seeing these deleted scenes, and reflecting on the vibe of the movie as released, I think if they had included this more extreme content, the movie wouldn't be stuck between genres, between between sci-fi and horror where it's been relegated, and would instead be regarded as an all time horror classic.

  • They should've kept that part in where Weir is climbing down the ladder with the blood coming down. Creepy shit.

  • awwww this would help lead to dead space

  • Does anybody know what exactly was cut? That "hell" video was bad enough. I wonder what other horrors the director had in store haha.

  • wow

  • Where we're going...we won't need eyes to see.

  • @garretts431 i think you'll be missing a little bit more than that when she brings you back.

  • These aren't deleted scenes! I had this movie on DVD and this was all in there. =\

  • Vocês são muito ingênuos. O filme foi cortado por questões financeiras. A produtora prefere agradar ao maior número de possível de espectadores, ao invés de satisfazer a vontade de um pequeno grupo que gosta somente de gore.

  • Actually red CGI Sam Neil crawling head down the ladder was far scarier than over the top gore... FAR FAR SCARIER. DX

  • Hell is only a word...

  • Event Horizon was good, of all the movies that rely/ied heavily on as a centerpiece Event Horizon pulled it off the best. While the movie never scared me it did put me on edge, but I was disappointed that the pay-off moments were so few.

I read that around 40 minutes were cut for being "too distressing". After seeing a sample of the footage I can say that Paramount stopped a good movie from becoming great movie.

  • that view at 0:50, shame that wasn't in the final cut.

  • 40k mixed with Hellraiser much? Not that I'm complaining, I love the idea of all three being somehow connected.

  • At the end he's like

"Is what I would have done to fuck you up, if I hadn't got rat arsed."

  • Whoa! Those scenes would have made the film more like Hellraiser in space!

  • 1 person was in the test audience.

  • Aw, poor test viewers, scared by horror movie. Jesus christ. We'll never get to see what this movie should have been.

  • How it would be great if this haven't been deleted from the film ...

  • Holy Fuck!

  • awesome scene when Sam Neil is climbing down the stairs with all the blood.

  • @DaneTheConquerer, is the first version of this film available on DVD?

  • @12bulkhead

no :-( and it probably never will be

  • @12bulkhead Its too bad, that scene alone would have made Event Horizon worth seeing. Very very creepy.

  • The music is the freakiest

  • ah yes. god is in his holy temple. i use that as ringtone.....and by god, i have no idea why the people in the subway look that freaked out when somebody calls me

  • probably the best and most successful sci-fi - horror combi hollywood ever made..

  • It's so strange that within 10 years Hostel and Saw are mainstream hits, but this gore was unacceptable in 1997.

  • @gensu3k1 - Event Horizon is actually frightening though. Modern horror films are just good for violence - the script/atmosphere has taken second place to effects. Why bother calling them horror films any more?

  • wow thats some sick shit. i wish they would just show the whole video of what happened to the crew. they all attacked each other like animals, yet the captain was untouched. he tore his own eyes out. he probably finished them all off and tore them to pieces(as we saw them on the ships bridge).

  • such an insanely disturbing movie, but i LOVE the idea, it's really original!

  • This certianly isn't Aliens.

  • For Chaos!!!!

  • @1000thVoice FOR THE GLORY OF THE IMPERIUM, CHAOS SCUM! EAT MY BOLTER!

  • I wish they'd kept these scenes too... especially the stair one, it gives me the fucking creeps. I would have had a heart attack if I saw it in the film but it would have been totally worth it.

  • its spiderman!

  • Duuuuuude

  • Does anyone know the name of the music? It's absolutely incredible.

  • Fuck Paramount and fuck censorship. They ruined all the gore scenes in this movie.

  • @x225w it's not censorship, it's commercial imperative - they wanted a movie that would sell (as they saw it). Event Horizon has some good points, but also alot that is hackneyed and poorly written.

  • @x225w it's not censorship, it's commercial imperative - they wanted a movie that would sell (as they saw it). Event Horizon has some good points, but also alot that is hackneyed and poorly written. Good horror is often about what you *don't* see.

  • @Exeunt26 corporate censorship is STILL censorship. paramount is forcing the creator of the film to cut out parts they think wouldnt sell well. they are actively censoring his expression, even if they do it in the interest of making money, it is still censorship.

  • @antijavi

I believe that is Lieutenant Starck, that blonde chick that survives in the end.

  • Comment removed

  • there wont be an extended cut.. the footage that has been cut is lost.. thats what anderson said...

  • @JoeGroomlake Then where the hell did this footage come from! This IS cut footage, and it's being shown here on Youtube so it obviously exists somewhere, and could be re-inserted into the film.

  • @FireTiger941 i think it is some bad quality left-over vhs chunk that anderson found and wanted to put on the paramount dvd. obviously ALL HE FOUND, because he went looking for those 30 minutes he had to cut for paramount and its mainly all just gone.. thats what i read from an interview. i still hope, somebody will, someday, come up with those lost 30 minutes, somebody is gonna restore them and make a event horizon directors cut with a beautiful 2 hours plus length. peace

  • Heh, Poltergeist II soundtrack. Nice. "God... is... in... his... ho-ly... temple. Earth-ly thoughts be si-lent NoOow." ;p

  • wow, those were some cool scenes. loved the dude crawling down the ladder :D (i forget his name ): ) shame they had to cut them.

  • @megastephatron

that's Sam Neill (Dr. Weir) :-)

  • @DaneTheConquerer ah, thanks :D

  • @DaneTheConquerer You mean Dr. Grant.

  • Who's that woman being tortured, was she part of the original Event Horizon crew? She kind of looks like the woman who was having sex on the table at the start of the video log.

  • The excellent novelization of this movie includes quite a few cool little scenes and dialogue that were in the original screenplay and first cut of the film and gives you a really clear idea of what it would and should have been like had it not been as tampered with by the studio as it was. It's a really great read for fans of the film and i can only hope that a fully restored director's cut version is released someday that is closer to what was originally intended than the version we now have.

  • So they deleted the most elaborate and probably hardest to shoot scenes? Why? This is a horror movie, so what's wrong with those scenes?

  • @CvijaFaQ Cause they were too hardcore. Its called censorship. Welcome to the modern world.

  • @yuyudude1112

I realise it's censorship, but censorship in a horror movie is pants-on-head retarded.

  • @CvijaFaQ companies are more worried about not offending people than artistic integrity. Welcome to hollywood.

  • 0:42 Steak Kebab!

  • @MrThamaniac

Watch it at night, by yourself. **shudders**....with a good surround sound system...in high def.

  • I wish I was one of the test audience members to see the uncut version of this film because not only could I have seen this movie in its true form, I could have spat on the weak little cunts who said "it was too extreme." Event Horizon is a sci-fi/horror masterpiece, and probably the only film I ever watched that gave me mortifying nightmares for months.

  • Where did you get this footage dude? You bought the DVD or bluray or something?

  • @skytyler This footage is available on the "special edition" DVDs. Go get it if you haven't already since they're dirt cheap (I only paid $10) and the extras perfectly complement this great movie.

  • Man, I wanna see more of the original crew once they'd gone into Hell. Those scenes on the video logs of the crew killing each other were so hardcore, you could tell Anderson wanted to go further with it.

  • Test audiences are pussies!

  • @NekroWolf616, the ones for this film definitely are.

  • event horizon has to be one the the scariest movies i have ever seen!!!

  • @midgetgirl5

Me too! It scared the crap out of me! And I haven't even seen any uncut

    footage yet! Too scared too!

  • wouldve made hell alot more terrifying if they kept this footage

  • Some crazy shit right there. A shame the pansies at Paramount cut so much stuff out.

  • cant believe they cut that part when wier crawls down the stairs that was cool! between they should have made a video game based on this movie! this did scare the living shit out of me when i saw it the first time LOL

  • I agree with you the movie would have been more gory and better without the editing. but, you have to consider that if it was not cut there was a chance it could be banned in many conservative countries. also, it could have lost its R rating, the studios could not take a chance. this movie was for me the best horror movie since "the exorcits" and remember that the exorcist was banned for a while in some countries like England

  • Whats the name of the song and who by x

  • @UnderworldLycans123

it's the track "they're back" from the soundtrack Poltergeist 2 composed by the great Jerry Goldsmith

  • I cannot believe Paramount ordered Anderson to cut the film by 30 minutes. I would love to see all that was deleted. I'd want to see more blood and gore in this movie.

  • @8470alpha - The original script is online, and it gives an indication of just how freaky the original cut would have been.

  • i like this music

  • I have to say... that was awesomely freaky. Thanks for uploading this, mate! =D

  • Weir crawling down the stairs is the fucking shit nightmares are made of. I've love to see an extended cut of this film. Paramount, Anderson, get to looking for that footage!

  • @litrium87 I'm DYING to see a director's cut!

  • @litrium87

Sounds like The exorcist where the girl crawls down the stairs...rip off?

  • Watched this film so many times, bout time for a directors cut me thinks, with all the hardcore gore that was cut out, put back in xD

  • They really should've kept the extra scenes in. Dr. Weir crawling down the ladder was bad-ass.

  • Shame on Paramount, SHAME ON PARAMOUNT. They rushed Anderson to finish the movie at a certain deadline, and after that they had test audience screenings. he had to cut the movie twice, because those fcukhead of test audience were too freaked out buy it. Anderson had to cut about 20-40 minutes of footage, with a lot of gore, from the movie. PARAMOUNT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. EVENT HORIZON WOULD HAVE BEEN IN INSTANT HORROR CLASSIC, TIMELESS MASTERPIECE. I SUCK ON PARAMOUNTS BALLS. IM REALLY ANGRY.

  • the sad thing about it is that event horizon is not the only case which was drimmed by the studio. There are a thousand other cases where the same thing happened. Movies would have been much better then they maybe are now.

A new company should concentrate on finding and restoring old film material. They should take it back in the movies and release them, it would be a dream!!

  • @DaneTheConquerer look no further than CLASH OF THE TITANS, the studio got another guy to recut scenes change lines, and changed established shot story ideas which made zeus the villain and sought to make him a doubtful fatherly figure, so the reshot the film and changed key scenes, freaking evil.

  • @JoeGroomlake They did the same with the original Day of the Dead. George Romero wanted it to be his masterpiece and had it filled with gore and bloody violence, but the production company made him cut most of it.

  • @JoeGroomlake You mean you want paramount to suck your balls right? i think you were so angry you accidently said you want to suck on paramount's balls. LOL

  • did you get that info from Wikipedia?

  • @Kingopersia

no, in the making ofs you get to know a lot, the director talks about it. I think it was cut down for a couple of times and the third version is now the film we know.

  • @DaneTheConquerer did the director say why it was cut out? those were some intense scenes that would've been good for the movie.

  • @legendarywar1 Anderson said that there was one version (the first) which had all the brutal and gory scenes in it, then there was a second version which was trimmed down considering the gore and then there was (is) the third version which we all know as Event Horizon which was trimmed down again, all the cuts where made by Anderson himself of course by order of the studio, but he is totally satisfied with the intensity of the cinema version,

what a lier, the cut scenes are awesome and .....!!!

  • @DaneTheConquerer of course the studios have to control the movie, those were awesome bits. they weren't even that violent, they just showed sort of the effects of self violence on people, they didn't really show what they did to themselves.

  • @DaneTheConquerer IIRC the reason was that Universal didn't want to put something like that in theaters when it could be given a NC-17 rating, so they told him to tone it down. Then tone it down some more, just to be safe.

  • imdb trivia states he's sorry he had to cut them out

  • @DaneTheConquerer Actually, he said he regretted cutting it down so much, it's just that all the gore made viewers uncomfortable and he had to cut out the worst scenes. And the studio hardly kept any of the footage so even the special edition DVD barely had any of the cut material.

  • Comment removed

  • @JoeGroomlake I agree with you! I could only imagine how much cooler this movie would have been if the lost footage was included. The Test audience was obviously a bunch of Sissies, its a shame the cut footage was lost.

  • @JoeGroomlake Exactly the same here. I only watched that film recently and i thought its the best horror movie ive seen in ages. Just because audiences can't take abit of gore they have to cut it. I'l never watch a Paramount movie again

  • i wonder how pinhead would handle the other dimession

  • gut, sehr gut!!!
