  • Nice reference for new students.

  • The opening series is Begin Tai Chi, Hold The Ball on the Right, Ward Off Left, Ward Off Right, Roll Back and Press, etc. I learned the form in this manner back in 1975 and have never really thought about it. Today a lot more information has become publicly accessible about Tai Chi, and my observation is that this sequence seems pretty standard ( Terrance Dunn, Earl Montague, Jesse Tsao, et. al.). I have also concluded that variation is to be expected in Tai Chi and there;s no single right way.

  • Thank you for the video. I wonder if you could tell me what the thinking is about doing the form on the left side.

You know, instead of beginning with ward off right, you do ward off left and continue with all the moves on the opposite side.

  • Thanks for the positive comments. Glad I could help.

  • Thank you for this. Very helpful

  • Great Job! Best example of the 37 step short Yang I have seen on YouTube. I will be using this as a reference. Thanks!
