hell, they look cool too. they are warm. they make wearing goggles more comfy. and they save your life... and when i look around on the hill, i think most people wear them. even if you dont do much on the ramps, going fast is dangerous too, i was bombing a trail last year and i hit a patch of ice. lost balance on the heal carve, fell on my ass (which hurts like hell) and went right off the edge of the trail and slid 20 down the hill on the other side. almost had 2 leave my board behind 2 get up
i watched my friend crash after getting cocky with a big jump. i thought he died when i saw him hit the ground. droke the end of his board, stripped the screws on a binding and broke an ankle, broke a few ribs, got a concussion, he was driven away on the gernie behind the snowmobile. hes fine now. he still has whats left of that helmet. a third of it cracked off, goggles even had a crack in them. the ground where his head hit had a crater. we made sure we all had a helmet after that.

Good advice I had a similar accident in 07 while mountainbiking. My helmet saved me. It was smashed to pieces, but my head was ok.
