  • love this song i always think of my fist husband! hey old dog you know who you are! lol

  • This song is Meatloaf's best songs ever. I like the way that Meatloaf and the pretty

Karla Devito put on a good dramatic performance together in this video.

They don't songs with charm as good as this anymore. The music world has changed a lot.

  • A classic and one of the best albums from 1977 along with Fleetwood Mac's Rumours.

  • If he eats an actual Meat Loaf is it considered cannibalism?

  • meatloaf his face let me think about smeagol from lord of the rings xd best music!

  • Thumbs up if your in your teens and your parents introduced you to this phenom music

  • i finished second testerday out of aq field of 220, won 400 bucks

  • i play this song over and over as i play poker online...it brings me luck and money!!!

  • Truly awesome! I was 19 when this song came out and it's always been one of my favorites. I read one time that Meatloaf is only one of a handful of people alive today that can sing in all eight octaves.. This is true talent. I pity the kids of today that missed one of the greatests eras of music in history.

  • i think that this song is as relevant to the youth today as it was when first released. Cant beat the music! :-)

  • If i listen to music like this, i feel something inside. I feel real emotion, real fun, real happiness. You know why? Because this kind of music has all those things that i feel. I only have it when i listen tho real music. I honestly never feel it with music of these days. Because all the emotion that the singers had back in those days are gone. Don`t know why, but its just all gone...

They just can`t make music like this anymore.

  • - This needs ssooo many more views....

  • i listened this song for about 1000 times, but almost forgot what a epic movie it is!

  • I always forget that it is possible to be fat and rock!

  • This album nearly killed meat loaf

  • @BobbyD167 uhhh...wat?

  • Come~on ... Just let'em fu{k

  • Still listening to this in 2012 and will still listen to it until the day I die.

  • There comes a moment, a span of time, no matter how brief, where a human is able to reach a level of unquestionable perfection equal only to the thunder of the Gods. Such is this magical breath of life captured in the performance of these two beautiful people. Immortal, timeless, and priceless is this soaring example of the human heart and its passion for life.

  • @dunecigar What this guys said....

  • @dunecigar Ok, Mark Twain

  • press 2 repeatedly xD

  • WOW is she high lol

  • CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND has nothing on this number.

  • i just lost my virginity, so i had to come home and listen to this

  • @originalshamus wow....ok?

  • At that point in his earlier (and heftier) days, Meatloaf looked like a cross between Jack Black and Chris Farley. As he got older (and lost weight), he began more to resemble Tom Arnold. Just an observation.

  • @IAintOverYet i always thought that too lol, and he looks like chucky too haha

  • Trivia for the day: Did anyone know that the female vocal part on Meatloaf's "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" was actually sung by Ellen Foley and lip-synched by others in the videos. Ellen played Billie Young as the public defender on Night Court for one season, and was the love interest of Judge Harry until she was later replaced by Markie Post. Ellen was one great rock/pop singer as well as an actor (and not bad at all to look at either).

  • that is one of the hotest women I have ever seen who is she?

  • @wofmann Ellen Foley

  • @wofmann Voice is Ellen Foley's , but the woman in this video is Karla DeVito.

  • @wofmann Karla Devito.

  • The ironic thing about this video is that Karla DeVito (Mrs. Robbie Benson) is in it, but the person singing is actually Ellen Foley, who did it on the record. The audio is the track from the album, and not the "live" version, in which DeVito would have been heard, instead of Foley. DeVito is lip syncing to Foley on this.

  • @ShadowfaxDave I really didn't see your post before I entered mine. But I wrote almost the same thing about Ellen Foley today, spurred on by some talk on my FB page about the TV show Night Court. I had a crush on Ellen back then. She was one good-looking girl and a great singer.

  • @ShadowfaxDave It's a promotional video. Needs to sound like the album, needs to sound identical to the album. If Ellen Foley and Meat sang this live on stage, it wouldn't sound identical to the album, because the album recording is a particular mix of the various tracks recorded in the studio. "Paradise" almost didn't make the BOOH album because everyone's individual -- and even the collaborative-- mixes were terrible. Finally, John Jansen mixed this masterpiece by himself.

  • Meatloaf kinda looks like Andy Richter!!..Amazing Video!!!..

  • Still a better love story than Twilight...

  • Early Jack Black?

  • He looks like a fucking serial killer.

I think I'll stick to the audio-only version from now on, thank you very much.

  • @kikomiko1 so your stereotyping what serial killers look like? Anyone can be a serial killer im pretty sure there isn't a certain look for them. Btw that "Guy that looks like a fucking serial killer" probably got more pussy than you will ever get in your life.

  • Meat reminds me of Jack Black

  • I know that's awsome too!

  • Bat out of hell still sells 200 000 copies a yr . Its the 4th highest selling album of all time .

  • @spacepete2000 he doesn't get a dime from it

  • @spacepete2000 Its the fifth.....but it should be first. Fucking Michael Jackson having to make good music >=[

  • @spacepete2000 You mean 5th.

  • This is the song played by my Dr during my C-section on 12/20/94, Love me some Meatloaf.

This was 17 yrs ago (or coming on it).

  • I went all the way tonight.....and now I'm spent.

Long Live Meatloaf! You will rock forever brother!

  • love this

  • Giggle giggle this is so 80's :)

My mother listened to this when she was my age, and we had a bonding moment when we realized we liked the same songs on the Bat Out of Hell CD.

  • He looks so much like Chris Farley it's scary.

  • I started to sing this song in class and my friends asked me what i was sing so I told them the band name was meatloaf, They started laughing and asking me what kinda shitty name was that, so I asked them what kinda music they listened to they all said Drake, and i burst out laughing (:

  • @Yournotaloneamber Meat Loaf is a person. He's the guy singing this song. His live band is The Neverland Express.

  • i am afraid meat loaf will eatme ahhhhhh

  • This sounds ridiculously similar to the studio version.

  • @MrJmoak3 It is the studio version. Karla DeVito and Meat are lip syncing to album vocals sung by Ellen Foley and Meat. Promo video recorded just before beginning of the original BOOH Tour. Karla sang live on the tour. Catch her performance on Old Grey Whistle Test posted by Kozmik1000. (One of the videos at the right on my view.)

  • @MrJmoak3 it is, music videos looked like this back then

  • Man that womans got a set of lungs on her, and i dont mean by her beautiful tits either.

  • @MilitiaHQ her name is ellen foley check her out if ya want

  • @puffjon420 Ellen Foley did a version of this song but the woman in this clip is Karla Devito.

  • @MilitiaHQ Elen Foley starred in Night Court too..

  • AND NOW.... I'M PRAYING FOR THE END OF TIME!!!!

  • If they ever do a movie on Meatloaf's life the perfect actor to portray him is JACK BLACK.

  • @Cynbad63 As much as I agree...I disagree....but I do think Jack Black is getting older, maybe he'll be able to do it one day as a serious roll. TenD&Pick,Meatloaf was his dad in that :p

  • so glad that songs like these were made because to songs in the "old days" are absolutely amazing.

  • With tears in my eys : EXELENT brings back all the good memorys from when i didnt have a worry in the world.

  • Carla Devito and the Loaf..! COL!!!!

  • For those of you wondering and don't feel like looking for it @croft84 said "jack black looks like meatloaf."

  • "Oh god, what are they doing with their faces?! And she can't lip-sync!" Just a couple of things going through my head as I watch.

  • I like the theatrics they display. Such passion! You don't see music or performances like that anymore.

  • The greatest song ever

  • this is absolutely amazing.

I am disappointed with the human race because this is not the first suggestion when you type p in youtube.

  • Hahaha jack black is meat loads love child . Sing great just like him too.lol

  • they're all so ugly..

  • his face looks like smeagol xd

  • where the hell is pt. 2?? that sucked not to be able to see the other half!!!

  • He's a scary big bear ;D But I love the song <33

  • Love once it hits 4:31!! :D

  • 29 people fucked up and hit dislike...

  • It is her real voice he sung with her for years!

  • @tonesv77 This promotional video was recorded just before the Original BOOH Tour began. Karla and Meat are lip syncing to album vocals sung by Ellen Foley and Meat. Three other promo videos were recorded the same afternoon. Would be nice to know how many promo videos are not lip sync. My bet is almost zero. The promo needs to sound like the album. Karla sang live on the tour. Videos of Karla and Meat performing live are better than this. Check out kozmik1000 video at right.

  • paradise to the ears a r marvin i know you

  • his name was Robert Paulson!

  • i swear ive watched this more than that

  • fight club

  • @Dancrunch10 How different would the ending be to Fight Club if this song played instead of Pixies?

  • @Dancrunch10 giant bitch tits (if i remember that line correctely)

  • @Dancrunch10

    Best Movie EVER!

    "His name is Robert Paulson" (;

  • she's lip syncing thats not her real voice.

  • Just great

  • who is that gorgeous woman

  • @hanknz01 Karla DeVito. She has a YouTube channel.

  • 2:31 - 3:06

    bliss

  • Still so AWESOME!!

  • One of my absolute favourite songs, love the ending, just brilliant!

  • Zooming down back roads at night in someones mom's, borrowed car, with this blasting out of the radio and all of us singing at the top of our lungs... Ah, those were the days!

  • Unbeliveable. THE rock classic of it's day, not to mention a staple at The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

    What a Tour De Force!

  • I love this. it's fucking like... 5 songs in one. AMAZING.

  • love this song ^^ <3

  • THAT's Karla DeVito.

  • lol its chris farley with long hair

  • the proper response is "yes, i'll love you forever" then when you get some "see ya"

  • she is outta his league :)

  • @angeldevil473 No one is out of Meatloaf's league.

  • Never loses its magic

  • Me and my Mate Arthur hit this song perfect to the beat today at College. Pretty cool lol.

  • Epic!! This is the track which skips on my Bat Out Of Hell CD and also the live version on another CD. Can't believe they were originally going to release a version of this being over 20mins long... something Meatloaf does best.

  • They should have used protection. Then he wouldn't have to be praying for the end of time to hurry up and arrive. Besides, any guy who needs to "sleep on it" when 1970s era Ellen Foley is staring at you going, "I gotta know right now, what's it going to be boy, yes or no?" I'm sitting there like, "ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yeah."

  • i bought those fukcin sponges

  • yeah the song's amazing

  • I think you should see this first, then just listen to the song by it's self. The thing I love is, okay first let's be frank, Meatloaf ain't no adonis. But he sure as hell makes up for with a passion and Great body language, my favorite part is when Ellen stop the "Climax" so to speak and start's telling meat loaf to promis she loves her, you can see what meat loaf as the character in the song is thinking "Ohhh Crap I didn't see this coming! Oh shit shes still staring at me, think damm it!"

  • @Lazysupermutant That's very funny, and a very good point. When Meat opens his mouth and sings "Lemme sleep on it..." she leans away and mouths "Lemme sleep on it..." as if to say, "Shit! He wants to SLEEP on it??"

  • @silverpilot1979 anyone knows the following prt from this song

  • The bimbo is not singing. That's Ellen Foley's voice.

  • @SBMPLYMA

she is singing, the camera is picking up her voice when there's a close up of her but everyone else is just hearing who you said

  • @hurmpfff Karla DeVito and Meat Loaf are lip syncing here to the album vocals sung by Ellen Foley and Meat. It's a promotional video. Promo videos are lip sync 99.999999% of the time. (Video needs to sound like the album.) Videos of Karla and Meat singing live on the original BOOH tour are better than this. Check out Old Grey Whistle Test and Rockpalast performances in 1978.

  • @bruiseraa Logical.

  • @hurmpfff Okay. I stand corrected. She is singing, But that's Ellen Foley that we are hearing.

  • Their performance on stage makes this song even better!

  • I'd like to see the version where Rizzuto is onstage singing and Meatloaf does the play by play voiceover.

  • That hand thing Meat Loaf does at 3:40 when he kisses Karla De'vito is unbeliavable cool!!

  • This will be listed as Immmmortal rock n' roll

  • Easily one of the best songs for putting a smile on your face even during the darkest of days. Brilliant

  • i LOOOOOVE.....

  • 24 people are vegetarians..... just sayin.....

  • That chick is doing the worst lip sync ever.. That or she's attempting to eat the microphone :P

  • @RAVENxFLIGHT she doesn't lip sing. she is just naturally that talented

  • This is one of the greatest songs of all time, if not the greatest song of all time.

  • The passion of this video matches the passion of a couple of teenagers by the dashboard lights. It is so ture to life!

  • Classic rock and roll

  • Is he chewing gum? O_o

  • @HillariousMassiveJoy He always chews gum!!!

  • I love seeing paradise by the dashboard light, or any light!

  • I have found a wide range of people with different taste's in music that liked this song that I have recommended to them over the decades.

  • I think Carla may be lip-syncing this. Sounds more like Ellen Foley.

  • @bt51 of course it's Ellen foley singing "It should have made her a superstar, but another woman replaced her in the video, lip-synching to her voice; Foley refused to tour with Mr. Loaf: “Who wants to deal with that?”"

  • @mattkinska Ellen was Meat's girlfriend when BOOH album was recorded. They broke up before the original BOOH tour began.

  • Oh man! she had to ask him that! hate when that happens... -_-'

  • Classic.

  • why watch if your gunna hate on it

  • jack black looks like meatloaf.

  • @croft84 meatloaf is jack black's father. They lived in a little town called kickapoo before dio told jack black to go to hollywood to form a rock band.

  • @croft84 meat loaf play JB's father in tenacious d pick of destiny

  • @croft84 and Lowell George

  • @croft84 no wonders he played his dad then ;)

  • @croft84 He may have the looks, but certainly not the succes

  • @croft84 why do you think he played jack black's father in the pick of destiny genius

  • @croft84 biopic of meatloaf's life starring jack black much?

  • the soundtrack to my 1st marriage LOL

  • its great but phil makes mistake you would never have a sucide squeez play with two outs

  • For someone special

  • love meatloaf. loved him as Eddie. hated him in the cell phone commercials. dont sell out dude. Please?

  • @sidhes626 Hey, people need money. Can't live off his rock money forever XD

Besides, I thought those are hilarious D:

  • An absolute classic.

  • 8D

  • 7:36 Meat Loaf definitely looks like Jack Black

  • How does this only have 670,000 views? Justin Beber has like 500 million. WTF?

  • @mcnameer1 ....that means the kids are on the computer way to much

  • @mcnameer1 -- Eh kids are stupid, the fact that this song has been around this long while Bieber songs have a shelf life of a few weeks proves this.

  • meatloaf....is there a better old school band? no didnt think so lol

  • How epic is this song? The definition of epic. What a performance. Thanks so much, Elconquistador.

  • Hahaha I love it . I love singing along too

  • I loved reading the information about the song while litening to it. Thanks Uploader!!!

  • Ahh young love... reminds me of my ex-girlfriend... we're still friends... Atleast she hasn't said we aren't... hasn't said much to me... :/
