Only 3,5 years !!?? He could kill people! Id give him at least 6 years and would give him possibility to come out after 5 for good behaviour. Who will pay for all of those things? Tax payers - I would force to pay the whole money back with providing him some job for 3p per hour during the prison time! @bloyr cops are exhaustively trained, re-trained and tested in pursuits and respective resolution methods. We take personal responsibility each time we take on such a pursuit and ask ourselves 'can I justify what I am doing?'. When this is no longer the case we stop.

We do our absolute best to minimise danger to the public, but every pursuit has some element of danger. The driver of the stolen car has at every stage the option to pull over and stop. On this occasion he chose not to.

@CambridgeshirePolice Trained or not the video was scary. This wasn't driving it was ballistics and I say that as an engineer. If anything unexpected had happened it would have been a disaster. That is not a criticism BTW, I recognize the difficulty in deciding whether to chase or not. I wish there was a more sophisticated way of catching such people.
