this was just a couple of months after the 434 game in south africa. SL were chasing 320 odd runs to whitewash england in a 5 match OD series which they eventually achieved in 37 overs. had they batten on in this vein, the 434 wouldve been easily surpassed. pity it had to end.

An Aussie supporter, but jayasuriya is one of my favourite players to watch. He hits the ball with awesome power. Square cutting sixes is very hard to do, but this guy makes it look so easy!!. By far my favourite innings i have seen other than the 82 of ball half century against england in the world cup in 1996
