Blistering hot huh? That means severe inefficiency in electrolysis, thus you are creating a lot of water vapor with the waste heat with your apparent gas production. I believe the water vapor has a lot to do with mileage improvement, not so much the tiny amounts of hydrogen. They used water vapor injection in airplanes in WWII to do this very thing. Will be doing an experiment with 150w catridge heater vs electrolyzer.
Also, run multiple tests on multiple days. A car can easily get 10% (or 2 MPG) increase on the ride back. Depending change in weather, tire pressure and temp, slope, turns (better left turns than right), road conditions, etc.
You really need a dyno to run a true test. And even then, variations in engine efficiency have been known to cause MPG to change 15% or more. That is why the EPA does its fuel economy tests dozens of times over several weeks.
For a better scientific test, have someone turn it on or off for half the trip and NOT tell you. This would be what is called a blind study. You cannot know whether or not the HHO is on while driving as driving style is the #1 biggest factor in MPG. The placebo effect is very real and unless you put your bus on a dyno, you cannot help but influence the results.
You should upgrade to steel, if that broke under pressure it could be trouble. But, tottally love that you doing this, love that your doing it on a VW :), lots of VW vintage video's on youtube ;).
Ive watched your whole series, great work. I would reduce the electrolyte, drawing less amps may reduce the heat in your cell. You are ahead of me tho, Im just starting to build a cell for my VW Syncro Westy...lots to learn!
I am suffering technical difficulties with Unit 4, non-responsive machine shop had my sheet metal for 3 weeks with no work being done. Unit 3.5 is under construction with salvaged Unit 3 parts as a filler until Unit 4 gets up and running. just check back every couple of weeks thanks.
tHE ONLY THING i CAN THINK OF IS THAT YOU CAN LEAN THE HELL OUT OF A CAR USING PART HYDROGEN AS IT WILL STILL RUN ON VERY LOW PERCENTAGES OF H2 AND 02.. bUT THE ENERGY IT TAKES TO MAKE THE HYDROGEN FAR OUT WEIGHS THE BTUS OF THE HYDROGEN GENERATED. BUT VERY INTERESTING AND GOOD FOR YOU.
but as someone else said, it's all about the final MPG rating. So he's using more energy, which means the alt/gen will burn out sooner. You weigh the cost of a replacement vs. the money spent on gas, and the replacement cost is less than the money that would be spent on fuel.
does that mean Endex Finger In Electronics? In my 500 mile update video, I show how I adjust the fuel injection system. No need for a real EFIE as there is no O2 sensor to worry about. Ahhh the beauty of L-Jet technology. Based on that video I have now moved the cog ring 16 clicks.

Building the HHO units easy, testing hard!

17.1 to 19.1 = 2 MPG increase not 7.

shit, my bus has on 15mpg...i wonder how i can push it to at least 17 without hho for now...?

well your engine is sure carbon build up free since the hydrogen turns into steam when burned.
so in a way your engine is getting a steam cleaning every time a combustion is made in the cylinder.

is your bus running on 100% hho? or a mix of hho and diesel ?

so... when is the next video going to be?

Do you know the Liter per Minute output on that cell at 20 Amps? Please clarify.
sirHOAX 4 years ago
no I don't, I do know that at 9-10amps its 170mls/min. when I run it on the bench cold.
sorry I don't have better data.

Glad to see someone is actually posting results! The whole "my generator bubbles more than yours" is getting old.
Great job!

My generator bubbles more than his.
ChrisPCrunchy 4 years ago
Mine as well, but I like the fact that numbers are finally posted. Not just bubbles.
gagekko 4 years ago
I just like the bubbles, Why spoil it with a heap of complicated numbers???
ChrisPCrunchy 4 years ago
Because bubble can be misleading. After all, it's all about the end result, better MPG - right?
gagekko 4 years ago
My Missus just likes the fact that the bubbles arent coming from my butt for a change.

My condolences to your wife :P

Just jokeing with ya. The Missus said to say she a lucky woman.

Great work!!
Is that a plastic container???
I'd be astonished if so because of the high temperature... how can it withstand?!
