Last year I attended this event at Monticello. Sam Waterston gave a speech that was inspiring!

This year filmmaker Ken Burns was going to be the speaker. It's a real shame that Bush exercised the longstanding offer to the sitting president to speak at this event. Bush knew that his presence would create strong protest. Bush wrecked this event.

It would have been fitting if Bush had been arrested during his speech. Jefferson would have been relieved that justice had finally been done.
