if you know what you are doing, it's easy to change but it's time consuming. The tensioner is between cylinder 2 and 3. Both cams have to come off and the sprokkets too.
it took between 5 and 6 hours on mine, but I am also very carefully.
mine has a strange rattle after is get hot 80 c degrees between 2000-3000 rpm,a friend told me that isn't the tensioner that make the noise.i don t now.
There is two other chains in the engine one to the generator and starter, and one to the oil and water pump. Thay can rattle to but thats pretty normal for this model
The tensioner is easy, it's just a matter of bolting it of. If you want to change the chain too, it's easiest to split the old one and tread the new one in with the old. And then join the new chain with a special tool
That rattle can be gear noise. When the engine is running it pulses the main shaft back and forth. It can sound like a rattle.
It shouldn't be present when going down the road.

I bought mine at a dealer in Denmark. But you have to find some sort of parts dealer. Where are you from

I have some parts, but no thermostat. But you should find one original, it should not cost so much.
