woww! Just watched this video, I have been on all of those rides that is showed on here! That is Rockaway Playland, that's for sure! Been there so many times during the early 60's every summer. I have home movies of me and my siblings on all those rides, it has been transferred to a VHS tape, now I will have to find out if I can transfer them to a CD, If I can, I would def post it here!
Rockaway Playland surely rocked back in the day, every kid's fun times!
i lived right i mean RIGHT next to playland on 97th street growing up, i miss those days alot. Just watching all the clips pf rockaway makes me tear up, I miss it alot. i remember the closing of playland and what it became now is incredible what happens over time. I remember my 18th birthday we started at 116th street and went down to 88th, we hit 20 something bars bars in that sort of a distance. Rules didnt apply to rockaway as they did the rest of the world
Although that is Rockaway, I do not think it is Rockaway Playland. That is one of the small kiddie amusement parks near the boardwalk at around Beach 4th Street. I used to go there all the time in the early 60's and have similar home movies. It was right near Jerry's Knish's

Wow. I remember "driving" one of those boats as a kid. Many, many fond memories. Thank you!

Yes, that's Rockaway's Playland. We have home movies of me and my brother on some of the same exact rides around 1965.

Damn, that brings up some memories. If I think about it I can remember how it smelled- cotton candy mixed with ocean breeze.
