  • Depression may sound not serious but it leads to serious problems. We get depressed when our own expectations are not met. Come on, you can think better than that. We have to be level-minded.

  • psychiatrists are rediculous, in a few years they will have to shut up shop

  • Hi, you've already uploaded this video on the 4th of Feb.

  • Maybe not everyone saw the commercial ad cleverly inserted in the lecture.

  • Gazillions of neurons, hehe. I've been looking for a program like this for a long time. This is great! I love learning more about the brain.

  • Didn't we already see this video like 2 week ago? What's the point of reposting it?

And as interesting as it is, I can't help to notice that he's advertising his own private practice in this video. How ethical is this, medically and educationally?

  • @renumeratedfrog I have difficulty accepting much of what the Psychiatrists say. I am Bi polar diagnosed 22 years ago and have been living a productive and stable life without medication for 3 years now. While taking all meds I never stopped rapid cycling but now I no longer rapid cycle or face serious lows or full blown mania. For Psychiatrists to say that this is possible would be the same as telling there patients its not necessary to come and pay them anymore for there services.

  • @bonzaibb12

How do you manage your condition?

  • @adolthitler Let me first say I am not cure and I do not believe there currently is a cure but my condition is I'd say 90% improved in comparison to my 20+ years on medications. The detox period from meds was extremely difficult and lasted almost 1 year. I do take Lorazapam but rarely I've had the same bottle 1 year . I use unrefined Fish oil from Alaska, Kava Kava root, avoid tap and bottled water, eat unrefined organic diet and avoid stress like the plague.

  • @bonzaibb12 I use OTC and prescriptions only when absolutely necessary and try to use natural remedies whenever possible. The way I eat is the Weston A Price method look up WAPF. It is Only good carbs (unrefined) , heavy on fish oil, and basically the foods we used to eat traditionally before lets say 100-200 years ago . I also married a very supportive husband who understands my limits . I had to stop being friends with people who brought to much stress or drama to my life as well.

  • @adolthitler are you a student ?

  • @bonzaibb12

    No not a student.

But I have dealt with depression for long periods.

I find vitamnin B complex supplementation very good for me. I was wondering if you use the same method. I also shirk stressfull friends, but I always did that my whole life. I think its a key part of being happy - don't allow your life to get swallowed by silly things so you can truly enjoy yourself.

  • @adolthitler Yes you must let everything roll off your back to deal with a condition like this. I use to take B complex and a host of other supplements when I first started my journey off meds however when I learned how the vitamins were made and the politics of the supplement business I decided to get as many of my vitamins as possible from food sources. Many of the biggest brands have had lead contamination and use soy (linked to hormone disruption) as there mane source to synthesize vitamins.

  • @adolthitler Salmon oil that has not been refined ( I use Vital choice) contains Vitamin A, natural D, omega 3, and DHA this is my most important supplement. Almost all fish oil now uses added synthetic vitamins .

Synthetic vitamins do not benefit the body in the same way as vitamins that occur naturally in foods and many new studies are now showing that that the formulations for Multi vitamins are so conflicting they can cause harmful depletion's.

  • @bonzaibb12 I do use probiotics since healthy digestion is important to mental health, I use milk thistle to keep my liver healthy after years of too much medication and my labs have show a dramatic improvement since using milk thistle, I make some supplements myself at home since I have about put 2000+ hours worth of studying into herbal medicine.

  • @adolthitler When it comes to herbs though I am very conservative , I am all about the evidence so I use websites like the University of Maryland, Mayoclinic, and Pubmed to see studies and how well they worked. It is so important though to see a reputable alternative medicine Dr or a Regular Dr who understands natural medicine and regular which is called Integrated medicine , many Dr's who graduated from Osteopathic Universities are very knowledgeable and helpful in this area.
