  • aren't the 1500s still running

  • what year were the 1500s,1600s, and 1700s built

  • The 1500s and 1600s were built from 1969 to 1970. The 1700s were built from 1987 to 1989.

  • when are we going to get new orange line trains

  • Soon...very soon...most likely by the beginning of the next decade. The next heavy rail order will be a combined order for the Red and Orange lines.

  • what's the other train called in the red line that is also used today?

  • The 15 and 1600 series are nicknamed the "Silverbirds." I'm not sure what the 1700s are nicknamed, though.

  • These trains used to have red cloth-style seats. But in the early 2000s they were replaced with black leather seats.

  • Thats right, 01469/01480 and 01470/77, but are no longer work trains, they are now used for Transit Police and motorperson/attendant training. Also keep in mind that 01450/55, two more, are at Seashore Trolley Museum.

  • The "T" sometimes run the P-S 01400 SERIES on the Red.

  • The 01400s are LONG gone. They last ran in revenue service in 1994. There are a few left, but they are used as work trains.

  • I mean they still use the 01600's and the 01700*'s for the Red.

*01700's built by UTDC (Builders of the TTC subway, streetcar, and RT cars for Toronto.)
