Would an EXCISE TAX be a good example of a price floor? Does anyone know the exact difference between an Excise TAX and a price floor? My guess is that an excise tax is one in which, for example, the government can tax consumers for buying cigarettes, as where a price floor is one in which the government tells the cigarette producers that it can't charge less than a certain amount. Am I right? Anyone? Bueller?
