the smart cover is a load of shit. i bet apple forgot that it was meant to protect it and instead they made it was a thin, magnet cover and all high tech and all that shit. i bet it dosent even protect it. it hardly cleans the screen, and if you dropped it from waist hight, it might not look like anythings happened, but maybe something inside is broken. dont buy a smart cover. i did and i regret it. get a case there are plenty out there that r much cheaper. they want £35 for it!

hey, just telling everyone the cover sucks because when you fold it back it doesnt actually hold it up like it does in the video and it leaves little smudge creases from the folds and it only covers the front. The best one I've found is the Bear Motion one and it completely covers it and turns on and off just like the ipad cover so yeah, its much better

Well, I purchase the smart cover and it did nothing to protect the glass on my iPad 2. A small slip to the side and the glass is cracked and my warranty voided unless I pay 385$ to replace it. stick to a case!!

i think the smart covers are cool but i prefer cases. steve jobs should have made the smart covers and a case. the case would look like the one for first gen ipad but have the magnets. of course cases are gonna ad a little weight and thickness.....................­.thats what cases do................ and the also protect the ipad all around and not just the front
