Honey are you aware that Cannabis (indica, not sativa) reduces many subconscience reactions. Its the reason I can no longer have dreams (good dreams or nightmares).. But, the conditions I have been saved from is definately worth it. P.S you are a real cutey.

Now I'm curious about the disorder and wish I could help. Thanks for posting your video. And Sarah keep in mind STAY STRONG! Your beautiful and remember to reach for the sky! Pete
I subscribed because of this vid. If we humans had more strong people like you in charge, I don't think the world would be quite the toilet it's turning out to be. Keep being you. the world really does need you.
I can relate to your description. I'm not exactly diagnosed with Tourette's. I kind of have many uncontrollable quirks. I hope you get well, or manage well. I pray for us. I don't know if you have this type of Tourette's but I have found that using earplugs helps me to keep my mouth closed.
Hi! About an year ago i had some kind of tick where i snapped with my fingers every minute, and i feel some kind of itch when i dont do it... now, i stopped snapping, and started rubbing my pointer finger and my thumb together... if i think about it, i can stop, but after 2-3 days i continue... so, is this tourettes or just a habit?
You are such a pretty young lady, and I've watched a couple of your videos and you are very inspring. I think you are wonderful and aweseome, especially for coming forward for making this video to help others. You are so brave. Thank you.
I don't have Tourette's but I have had difficulties socially in the past (I'm 20). I haven't been diagnosed with anything (other than having Crohn's Disease and that has fueled some of my anxiety/depression feelings) but I do understand how difficult it is to deal with something that's out of your control and how frustrated you can get by life and not being "normal" but eventually you learn how to adapt and accept yourself; being different isn't a bad thing, it teaches you how to be stronger
I searched for information about TS after watching an episode of True Life where a girl had the same condition. Your videos are absolutely amazing! You are such a great person - please keep providing light to this subject! :)
Hey - I found this very inspiriational. I have Tourettes and I am a 39 year old man. I could relate to a whole lot of what you said on this video, I know how you feel. Thank you so very much for this video, I am also on medication that tires me and I also get brief flashes mentally during which I feel very negative and depressed for about two seconds. Bless you - this is awesome.
I showed this video to my college class, I found it to be the best video and most honest and from the heart. You are a brave young lady, you will go far in life with this kind of view on life.
sometimes when something crosses my mind of a time when ive been embarrassed, I automatically say something (usually I swear) or I sort of flinch, is that considered tourettes behaviour?
You have excellent videos with good information for youth who are struggling to cope with TS.
Lately, I've been having tension build up in my chest/solar plexus giving me the feeling that I need to shout or scream, only to have the tension go away and leaving me with sore muscles.
God bless you for staying positive! You are an amazing young lady. I think you should write books for children and teens on coping with TS. Thank you for sharing your story. Keep the videos coming :D
Hi Sara. You know how you said that when you're focused on something you enjoy, like playing music, your tics disappear for awhile? When you stop playing, do you find that for a little while your tics are even worse, like they've been building up?

is there a connection between this and being anti social? my bf has this really terrible side where he becomes anti social and doesnt wanna talk to me. And I feel frustrated when I talk to him, its like talking to a kid.
Sarah, I just wanted to let you know that you are so strong and confident. My school is having a science night and I'm doing a report on Tourettes, and I really wanted someone who has Tourettes point of view. I don't have Tourettes, but I respect everyone who does. Thank you so much, this was very helpful.

lol it was really funny when u said hm. mm mmm *eyebrow flex* , lol your tics are way better than mine. I scream and I like open one of my eyes and close the other one and twitch my head and make grunting noises.
you hang on in there i have the same thing basically exept im in the earlier stages schools a fucking nightmare even hanging out with friends is difficult
I learned about tourettes last semester in health and I just feel so bad for the liitle kids and all the people who have it. I have many physical disabilities so I know how u feel about going into school with new people and stuff. I have glaucoma, spina bifida, hydro sephilis, regre syndrome, and one other thing I can't remember at the moment. I just started watching ur vids and I already love watching ur them
Hello, I'm a medical student here in Brazil, I watched your videos and loved it. I did more research on Tourette syndrome and found it very interesting how people can live with this disorder. Congratulations!
I really liked seeing your videos on TS. I was diagnosed when I was around your age, maybe a few years younger. That was about 20 years ago. Much of what you say reminds me of how I was when I was younger and what I went through. Thank you for talking about your TS and sharing with us.
my lil bro has tourettes. its not severe or anything. he has facial tics. he usually blinks and shakes his head but its not really noticeable unless your looking for it. it dont seem like it bothers him to have tourettes and he gets along great with the neighborhood kids and kids at school. tourettes hasnt affected him at all, at least thats my opinion.
Thanks for sharing this video. It helps/educates me. My daughter who is 10 was just diagnosed with TS but, we have noticed it since she was about 7 years old. She's had the humming, blinking, lip smacking, skipping, throat clearing, arm extending and now she is having the head jerking, shoulder rolling and hopping. If you have used the 7 day patch could you explain how it made you feel and did it help you? We are thinking about using it if the Clonidine doesn't work as well. Thanks!!! Michelle
This video is so informative. I'm currently working on a research project for my Psychology class and my topic is tourette's syndrome. I was just wondering if you had like a two minute video describing the positives and negatives of the syndrome, and the physical and emotional toll, that I can possibly show my Psych class, with your permission of course?
wow, your very hot, please dont feel bad you are a very wonderful person very uplifting and happy. i hope u do well in life, and be well. id like to just hug you and tell you it will be ok, hugs...thanks for sharing your thoughts.
wow, your very hot, please dont feel bad you are a very wonderful person very uplifting and happy. i hope u do well in life, and be well. id like to just hug you and tell you it will be ok, hugs...
It's amazing the way you inform people about TS. Many of us don't know about it, and listening to someone explain it as well as you do, really helps us understanding all it involves. I suffer from a different condition that people really don't get as well: vitiligo. Even when it's only a skin thing, it's really difficult to deal with, psychologically speaking.
This young woman is admirable. What is shameful is the fact that someone feels the need to criticize her. "Me thinks" she is out to spread understanding.
I just had a situation at my job with some guy calling me a faggot under his breath. Owners say he has this condition. Is this for real or is he insulting me?
@robinbirdslife, I thought exactly the same thing. Sarah, I know it's tough, hun, but lots of us are seeing that you REALLY have some real pottential in motivational speaking or counseling for people, especially kids, who have a hard time dealing with TS.
What is the diagnostic criteria for tourettes? I'm becoming more and more convinced that I have a mild form but I can control it to a degree. I'm 26 by the way. I've always thought I'd had 'habits' but when I stopped one, I would develop another. I used to curl my upper lip towards my nose and sniff when I was at school. When I stopped (through conscious effort) I started twitching my eye. I also roll my shoulder blade and make noises with my throat. The difference is, when I'm aware I can stop.
hi. my name is marcos. i wanted to know if there is a cure chance of a for it, or if its something that can't be helped? i know it has to do with the brain, but that's about it. if u can plz write me back at madtrolllepper@yahoo.com thank u for your time.
I think you are an amazing young lady! You have such a sweet personality, and I just wanted to say thanks for having the courage to help educate people. Keep up the good work. And stay strong :-)
I'm wondering about how you handle dating. There, I said it. TS isn't one of those thing that brings the guys running to the front door. I mean, how do you handle it. How do you approach someone....take it off the table and just be you and not.....you and your TS? Just wondering.....your pretty.
All of this is true. I had fun watching your video. My Tourettes and OCD are both a curse and a gift, but I think more a gift than a curse. Thanks for the video. I'm looking forward to your next videos.
wow, i am 17 and i was just recently diagnosed and watching videos like these seem to be really helping me so thanks for being brave enough to pt this out there in the world :)
You are so brave. I enjoy watching your videos you explain a lot in them. I will keep you in my prayers, and i'm sure very soon there will be something close to a cure.
I don't have tourettes and I dont know anyone who does but you have taught me something. I now I have a little bit better understanding of the human condition as a whole an therefore myself. Because we are all connected so I feel like I just learned something new about myself. I know that sounds weird and I dont even know if I get it myself but Thank You.
Hi, first case is that I'm from Europe, so I' m sorry for language mistakes :( When I saw Your video I dont won't laught I was sorry .. I realy admire You, you're courage to talk about you self on you tube and gives people answers to their questions who they dosent want to do ... I hope You will be video taping your life and helping people with the Tourettes. I see You're playing guitar - I do to - I would like to see You play and sing. Greetings from Europe :) Go girl !!!
so you can get rid of tics that you don't like.. so why don't you get rid of all of the tics.. deidcate yoursel to meditation and pray to Jove.. he is Jesus's father ..Our father and mother. .. pray and pray..you wil find healing.. only God can heal your mind and body..
It was really nice to watch your video and understand more about the TS. You are a very special person, it's nice of you to be yourself and show it to everybody. You're strong and smart. And a beautiful person too.
Just for the record; I approve of people defending me. however, I do NOT approve of people cursing at each other in my defense. Not ok. Kids watch this.
@lotsofcurlz36 Sarah, I know alot about Tourette's but I also know nothing. I have several forms of tourette's, and my brother has higher degrees of mine as well as coprolalia. Tourette's SUCKS T_T. and about the pills. they do nothing. I did develop a tic where every one in a while when i take meds i say "Grabbin Pills"
te expreso mi reconocimiento para usar este medio de de manera positiva, y a travez de tus vivencias podamos comprender las caracteristicas del T.S,,, te exhorto a continues con esa actitud ante la vida,,,sigue adelante.
Hey! I just wanted to say Great Video. Although I have not been diagnosed with TS (yet), I can relate to a lot of things you said and did. I myself have my own issues, and I know they are very frustrating and tiring, but who's aren't? BTW, you did one of the many things I do that I always thought was a tic. I have a habit of snapping my fingers and then clapping my hands. Thanks for showing that I am not as weird as I thought:)
Sarah, you are wonderful and you may have a future in motivational speaking about you and your TS - and speaking to all of those many, many people who have TS & all of the family members who love them. You are going places, sweetie! -Robin
Great video, you're a very mature, young woman. We all probably have some compulsive thoughts or tics we may not even recognize but living consciously with all this built up compulsion within yourself that forces you to tic and you can't help it must definitely be exhausting. That's why your will to enjoy life may truly be encouraging to anybody. There are always ups and downs in life but people like you show us how to stand our ground.Wish you enjoy all the colors of life.Good luck.
Awesome video! :D I had a friend with Tourette's, but he just had a few facial tics, a few grimaces and a blinking tic. But I find it quite interesting nonetheless. I can get pretty frustrated too since I have Asperger's Syndrome, so I don't really fit in socially, but I'm getting better at it! I know what you mean about medication, for example, I would not take medication for my Asperger's because it is a part of me. And I hope you feel the same about your Tourettes.
extra extra random comment: your mouth and way of talking is SOMUCH similar to condombaby's (on YT and gaia, ever heard of her?) xD uhm also you both come across as adorable.
Your a very intelligent and beautiful girl. If anything the touretes you have helps people also it sound stupid but I think your bids make it seem that even beautiful people aren't perfect either. But you are very beautiful and intelligent!! I nay not have touretes but thanx anyways
Your doing an awsome job. Your strong, intelligent, perceptive and very in sync with your emotions and its an honor to see that truly beautiful people still exist. I wrote something awsome. but I just lost it. I live in LA so dissilusioned with ugly-beautiful idiots. Your the real deal. Keep on growing, in every way possible. F the haters.
it`s like a muscle tension build up to a release, and the twitch is the release, it can be quite painful but yet so satisfying at the same time, diagnosed at 8yrs old and now I`m mid 30`s, it`s great to see someone so young being able to deal with it in such a grown up logical way, it sure does make you appreciate the little things in life and realize how much people really do take for granted, I wish you well
In "The Stranger Within" documentary about tourette's one segment featured a girl who always would yell out. The doctors once injected a thing called botox directly into her vocal cords to freeze or paralyze them. At the end, they said this method was unsuccessful however. I'm guessing it affected her normal speech or whatever.
I have tourettes to where I get tics in my neck, ankle sometimes, and other places...more of a mild case then anything but still tourettes...This video speask the truth and I know how you feel especialy, when I do something I like I don't tic as much..like track and cross country for me...Thanks for the cool video
Your courage is so uplifting. For you to make a video like this and to post it on the internet for everyone to see is very courageous of you. This really helps people understand what it's like to have this disorder. You are a very strong girl. Keep it up :]
for everyone who has tourettes, don't like idiots who make fun of you get you down. My best friends brother has tourettes bad and i can see the emotional abuse people put him through and its just cruel and heartbreaking. Just keep being strong and don't let the low self esteem jerks get you down
When I was little I'd fight my tics by holding a weird position; like wrap my legs around each other, or tuck my arm behind my head.
The best way I control it now (in my 20's) is by imagining my tics as alive and they feel the same way about this as I do. So if "they" can just keep it together for the few hours I'm at work I can go home and let them twitch and squeak all they want. It's like I'm working with my body instead of fighting it.
But I don't know I fidget till someone calls me on it.
You are a wonderful, strong person and I admire you very much for making this video. I actually got teary watching it. I do not have Tourette Syndrome but I have 7 motor tics, OCD, and my therapist thinks I might have ADD, too (which I don't think I do) But this video gave me a lot of hope because you seem like such a nice and kind person and I know you and I are dealing with similar things. People see me tic and they are like "woah do that again" and it truly breaks my heart. God bless <3
thanx for putting ur self on u tube. u helped me understand my friend better :)

It's amazing the way you inform people about TS. Many of us don't know about it, and listening to someone explain it as well as you do, really helps us understanding all it involves. I suffer from a different condition that people really don't get as well: vitiligo. Even when it's only a skin thing, it's really difficult to deal with, psychologically speaking.
You have a bright future ahead, hun!

This young woman is admirable. What is shameful is the fact that someone feels the need to criticize her. "Me thinks" she is out to spread understanding.

Edited the video at 6:35 to skip a funny tic. -.-

Joe.

it`s like a muscle tension build up to a release, and the twitch is the release, it can be quite painful but yet so satisfying at the same time, diagnosed at 8yrs old and now I`m mid 30`s, it`s great to see someone so young being able to deal with it in such a grown up logical way, it sure does make you appreciate the little things in life and realize how much people really do take for granted, I wish you well
