  • I'd tell the goverment to get fkd.

  • i wouldn't want anyone knowing what my troops were wearing for armor either...

  • @calebrainwater They dont wear Dragon armour the Military banned it and never used it , Our troops use whats called interceptor armor, Do a bit of research before you assume something, The reason they want the armor back is because they dont want the ppl to know they give our troops inferior armor due to a contract ! Understand now ?

  • @TheCSXGUY would you want the other team to have your playbook. no... deny you have a playbook. do YOU understand now?

  • @calebrainwater Look they did not use it for a fact because they are in a contract , what part did you not understand ?

  • @TheCSXGUY The Army uses Iterceptor Armor what did you miss ? Its 10yrs old.

  • @TheCSXGUY @TheCSXGUY sounds like a bunch of bullshit. first they ban it now its because of a contract. so what happens if they break some contract with interceptor? even if anything would happened what the fuck do they need a bunch of dragon skin for the only people we're fighting right now are a bunch of 3rd world countries who's favorite thing to do is blow themselves up. why dont you bitch about how little our troops are paid or something that makes sense

  • @calebrainwater My point is our troops deserve to have nothing less than the best. And they dont always get it.

  • @TheCSXGUY well then you would have to arm them all with dual fully automatic shotguns and a fucking jet pack too so get on it

  • @calebrainwater LOL

  • Dragon skin is still in the making, the armor failed at high temperatures and low frigid temperatures. So it was a set back for them. Hopefully they will perfect it.

  • Thought you lived in a free country? Nope.

  • @mattressmaniacs sorry mate but you stated the armour consisted of a "steel plate." This is without a doubt one of the dumbest things ive heard. a steel plate has no where near the balistic protection of current Us forces.

  • 1 - How expensive is that? People seem to forget that budgets are important.

2 - How heavy is that? and how hot? and can it get wet? how long does it last? I honestly never saw this info anywhere...

3 - What kind of ammo can it stop? I've seen of video of it getting shot by a AK-47. But since it was a discovery channel thing... I have my doubts.

  • @josecarlosamador I had the exact same questions about Dragon Skin and could never find out the info either. On top of that it's never clear exactly why the body armored failed the tests. The only info that seems to make sense is supposedly out of the number of armor sent for testing not all of them failed, but a fair amount did noting that quality wasn't consistent and may be a manufacturing issue. It's been a little while sense I found that and don't know the accuracy of it.

  • @josecarlosamador Dragon skin is better than any body armor in the world, its only con is that it cost more than the interceptors our troops wear.

Also, about your first point. People seem to forget that lives are important, more so than budgets.

  • @generalshrooms Ok. Why are they better than any body armor in the world? Honestly: why? It's not just the hability to stop a projectile that counts...

Lifes are important, but so are budgets. Or lets just screw the economy to buy a better armor? No.

Beside that, in 7/8.000 years of human history, the State most important goods have been wealth and property. It's not gonna change now...

  • @josecarlosamador Don't be ridiculous. If you can't afford to outfit your soldiers with the best equipment possible, then you can't afford to go to war.

  • @generalshrooms Clinton, Bush and Obama have proved otherwise...

  • @josecarlosamador you obviously don't understand what I'm trying to say.

  • @generalshrooms I did. I'm not saying you are wrong, but it's not gonna change. Sorry.

  • Basically Dragon Skin is expensive and folded flags are cheap.

  • wow, the US government really just shit that guys money for a Ballistics vest

  • lol @ FAILED COVERUP

im joining the army and i think its messed up that theirs better body Armour out there

  • The Dragon Skin didn't fail, it's that another manufacturer holds the contract for body armor for the US military, so that manufacturer is going to try its hardest to keep said contract. I wouldn't be surprised that these failures have been falsified considering Dragon Skin is lighter, more effective at outright stopping rounds, lasts longer and isn't compromised or deemed unsafe when a few rounds have been put in it. Apparently a soldier's life isn't worth the initial extra cost. So sad...

  • off to eBay!!!!!!!

  • I want one now :/

  • if the guy wants some nice armor, let him have it, damn feds.

  • He should have set it on fire and taken a shit in it before turning it in, not paying him for it, pfff they deserve a burnt contaminated peace of evidence coming back at them.

  • I think this COULD be a wonderful vest for NON-COMBAT use, the major problem it has and will always have until technology improves is WEIGHT, it is 46 freaking lbs, when a military member wears this along with all their other combat gear it is TOO MUCH to carry even for Rambo. This is a SWAT officers vest.

  • @KeninMT thats a lot lighter than the army's standard issue body armor. they issue a big steel plate which doesnt stop bullets and weighs almost twice as much.

  • They test more then just stopping bullets they also freeze them and they heat them when that happens the plates start shifting around leaving gaps in between them or they crack. Another way they fail is that when soaked in oil they loose the ability to stop rifle rounds I watched some show on them about a year ago if they can make them stand up those test I am sure that one day our troops will be using them but till them the Military is sticking with the Armor that is proven.

  • @timw421 Dont judge till you know all the facts yes they stop all arms fire under normal test conditions.

  • @timw421 When is it that you actually soak your vest in oil? When you say 'freeze them and heat them' are these the same 'real world' tests as soaking them in oil for 2 weeks? Because bringing ceramic plates to -100 degrees then dropping it in a 200 degree oven would probably compromise structural integrity of just about anything short of tungsten steel. From what I recall - they did this after it spent 2 weeks in oil... in the desert... in the sun. Ridiculous.

  • @Brajabu74 Im not sure if they test real world or like you said about the -100 to a 200 degree oven but about the oil think about mechanics guys they work all day in oil and grease and some have to do this in there armor more so if they are out in the battlefield fixing something that has to move now. If the way they do test them is in the order you pointed out that would be ridiculous.

  • @timw421 who the fucks going to be SOAKED in oil? the test you say you seen sound fucking stupid

  • Corrupt army

  • the AMERICAN government makes hi profile visitors to the mid east wear this level 5 dragon skin vest but they do not spend the extra money for the common troops to have it,,,,they have contracts with other companys that are cheaper and do not work with rifle rounds ! "trama plates" its all about money !! and the public can not buy level 5 dragon skin because it works so good they treat it as if you need a class 3 to have it,,,,

  • I don't personally own any weapons, I don't personally own any body armor, and i'm glad to say I've never been shot. I was never in a fire fight during three deployments. Here's my question, though: How much testing has Dragon Skin gone under against interceptor one on one in extreme temperatures and while being impacted by rounds from different angles (e.g., head on, 45 degree right or left, 45 degree top or bottom) and then, how does it continue to hold up when going through changes in temp?

  • I'm not saying I support one or the other, but if i'm going to go back over there, i'd like to know which works better in real world situations... Iraq goes from extreme heat to extreme cold every year, so the armor has to withstand the impact of multiple rounds in both temperatures, even after having gone through the extreme change.

  • Its completely legal for Civiliians to buy Body armour, why is there an investigation? unless someone stole it and sold it,

  • that maks no sense man the goverment does what to use it and it would save so many lifes they are stupid. Oh well im going to join the army anyways.

  • @Nike8pro

Dude, I have no idea what the hell are you trying to say!

    Care to clarify?

  • In Georgia it's legal for people to wear body armor but if your using it to committee a felony then Georgia adds more charges on top of the felony your committing..I see no reason why DOD wants the vest back that they say fail there testing,,Crap give vest to me I will see if it really works in my armory of firearms and I have some nasty stuff like my AK74,AK47,m16 Saiga 12 Gauge with 00 magnum buckshot,,My 5.7 FN,303 enfield , Remington 700 in 308.454 Ruger Redhawk,Mosin Nagant 7.62x54r & CZ52

  • @jakeblack1982 i bet you have none of these guns you speak of. no one thinks your cool because you named of some guns, why do people lie about the dumbest shit in the world. if you have them then put a video up untill then no one will believe you. someones been playing too much video games and watching videos of weapons.

  • If someones falsifying test result to help some company sell their wares over troop safety ,they should be put to death for high treason.

  • @w5a dumb fuck police are civilans

  • Is it legal to wear body armor under your clothes in the U.S.

  • @tom2000136 It depends on your location (good luck walking into a government building with Kevlar on) but lighter variants are almost always legal in most places as long as you are not a convicted felon. Also most places have stiffer penalties if you are caught committing a crime while wearing body armor. The really heavy duty stuff however (plates able to stop normally armor piercing rounds, bomb suits, etc.) are normally restricted and not available for private citizens to use.

  • What I heard was that it failed because if shot from a low angle where the bullet would penetrate up, then it pierces but I honestly doubt it's true. Just our army trying to save money instead of lives

  • so fucking what? whats wrong with buying body armor?

  • @803brando yea , quite bullshit.. Soo they're saying he can go and fight people with no body armour, buuut if he wants to use some theen no. Pretty redundent. You can buy a can to kill but not body armour to protect.. only in the U.S.

  • Why doesn't Pinnacle just sell their armor on the market?? they are under no control of the US gov. This is a free market and they have every right to sell it on the market. This whole thing doesn't smell right at all.

  • the guy should use during shtf

  • Look for those of you that are not in the know....they tested the Dragon Skin Body Armor and it did not fail. In fact it did just as well as the IBA system we use now the main dif between the two is weight. The Dragon Skin is much lighter then the IBA with plates. It all came down to price the D/S cost more so to save some cash the Feds went with the IBA it works just as well but is heavy as shit.

  • @ded1454

Yes, it is too do with cost, but also because the US gov already had a contract with the company who makes the IBA vests for X number of years. They don't care that Dragon Skin is a better vest and will help our soldiers more,, they only care about the contract.

  • see prof the feds faked their tests

  • Armor saves lives, how ever it should be used by us ( Law Enforcements), not by criminals, or civilians.

  • @w5a I understand the criminal part but why shouldn't civilians own it??? Maybe because it would put the Gestapo in jeopardy??? I mean hell if the "civi's" aren't too afraid of your guns then no population control huh?

  • @w5a oh i like or the civilians part just proves you a socialist imperial.

  • @w5a So LEOS have more of a right to live and defend themself than us common serfs wait a min LEOS are civilians you jackwagon. Your badge is not a crown. Its pigs like you that ruin it for all the good cops.

  • Soldier: My life is at stake!

General: My future Job is at stake.

  • Surprise, Surprise! The US Army is fucked up beyond all recognition like every other Federal Agency. Is anyone actually shocked by this story? Let me ask a question: what has the Federal Government ever done that has not been a complete waste of tax dollars? I was honored to serve this Nation in Iraq, and I LOVE the men and women I served with. However, the Army bureaucratic bullshit got in the way more than once, especially in combat. When peoples lives are on the line, cut the shit!

  • Hmm... got a used piece of armor that was supposed to have been failed catastrophically during a military test... thirty rounds and not one punch through. Wow some failure. I mean seriously would anyone want armor that doesn't fail after being hit thirty times? *sarcasm*

  • i saw a test done to this armor posted on youtube, it was a grenade. the bloody thing was resting against it.. .. and the vest passed!!

  • @Spiritrunner6 The only failure is that it costs around 5,000 bucks

  • @Spiritrunner6 small arms fire most likely was used in the test not ak rounds or other big stuff. But either way the vest had compromised integrity because of the roudns it recieved. each plate that is struck by fire is compromised when hit.

  • @RoughNeck205

You've obviously never seen Dragon Skin in action have you?

It doesn't become compromised like other types of body armor... There are no "plates".

They tested one of the level 5 vests (highest grade available) against a frag grenade, by sitting the vest on top of the grenade, not a single puncture, the inside part of the vest (the part touching your body) looked brand new.

There is no question that it's vastly superior body armor to anything out there now.

  • Of all the things you wouldn't want to buy off ebay, lmao.

I'd always rather just pay a bit more for my seatbelts/bulletproof vests/airbags/life jackets etc... and purchase them from somewhere a bit more reputable.

  • I think the problem with the Dragon Skin was it didnt pass a Heat test. The disks that compose the vest started to slip out of alignment, leaving exposed areas on the chest and back i believe. Im not 100% sure tho.

  • @ChewbacaChunx

Yes this is what I heard also. But then where is the proof? we only have their word on that. why didn't they just say so and what comments have Pinacle to say about it in response?? I haven't heard anything. Very odd. Why isn't this armor being marketed to LEO's yet???

  • any more on the story? i would like an update!

dragon skin should be on our troops~!

  • @spikes2020

Too expensive too put on a jarhead.
