I just saw one of these at the range last month. VERY neat little gun. Very Very neat. I only gave it a quick glance as I was taking a break. I am sure it was a civilian version. As far as the Remington website, I still see no existence of my 700P in 338 Lapua. Anyways I bought mine at the gun shop today for 1200 US dollars. BTW, this gun owns in CoD.
5.45 is better then the 5.56, at penetrating body armor, cover and because of the design of the round, it will still tumble and the base will fragment in soft flesh, on a barrel lenth of anything from 8" - 20"+. The 5.56 does not do that, it needs a 20" barrel.
This weapon is just a show rifle, it won't help win firefights or do anything marginally better then an AR-15.
It's still using a less then 20" inch barrel. For a barrel lenth of more then 18", bullpup design is better. And caseless ammo is the future, after that lasers.
No point upgrading yet, no point replacing the thousands of AR's in service.

Although the newer 5.45 variant is weak, I would agree with you on that. It's lightweight, but provides less stopping power than U.S. weapon systems.

Remington acr is the design now. The magpul Masada was more of a prototype that bushmaster and Remington now own the rights to and manufacture as the acr.

@MinorCheese777 not really. the M16/ M4 has been used since the 1960's. the US military is not really interested with that because the m16 and m4 is so reliable. the problem with the Masada is there is to many parts to assemble if u want to build the AK or The M16 or just the Masada. the Military expects soldiers to keep all gear on them while on duty/patrol it would suck to carry so much for the Masada the 16. but i totally see how this can easily help are boys oversees.
I'd say that if it chambered the 6.8 it would be perfect. I'm more inclined for a slightly heavier round, just so I would be able to knock the guy on his ass while punching a hole in his armor.
To be honest, I don't know how I feel about Bushmaster as a whole. They seem to give this feel that they hype the shit out of something and what they make really isnt as practical as they say it is. All of these extra applications are extra baggage, and the military already has rifles that are chambered for all kinds of calibers. The whole "leave no trace of who was there" is kind of ridiculous, they enemy is going to know who was shooting who. There's a reason the military went with the SCAR.

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx This video is from 2008. When the military originally asked for prototypes Bushmaster made it for the 5.56 and 6.8 rounds. The military didn't like the idea of spending more for new expensive ammunition and the ACR was dropped and they went with FNH's Mk 16 and Mk 17, otherwise known as the light and heavy SCARs. At this time Bushmaster opened up possibilities of chambering for 7.62 but the military still didn't buy into it.

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx it can both shoot a 7.62x39 and 7.62 NATO. the biggest it can shoot is the 7.62x39. the problem with those is that they have a different affect on the weapon compared to NATO rounds. thats my opinion when i shot it at the shooting range.
@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx it is possible, but you'll have to switch things like the bolt, barrel, and possibly the mag well/lower receiver also, since the 7.62 is a larger round. The scar and acr are basically the same guns, such as reversible charging handles, folding stock, similar trigger mechanisms, etc, but the scar l shoots a 5.56 x 45 NATO while the scar h shoots a 7.62 x 51NATO. All these are very popular among US Army forces since they have high mobility and also very accurate target acquisition
@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx also, the scar and acr are both very easy to disassemble as well. Both guns can be taken apart by pushing out just one or two pins in the receiver and handguard. However, many parts are the same on the scar l and scar h, such as same stocks, sights, and upper receivers. So, if a stock on your scar h broke on the battlefield, u can easily switch it out with your scar l stock. Both the acr and scar are perfect for mounting accessories as well, due to the full rail systems on both

As for rate of fire at full auto, I don't know the exact numbers for either gun. I would assume the M4 because it's a carbine and closer to an submachine gun.

To be honest, I don't know how I feel about Bushmaster as a whole. They seem to give this feel that they hype the shit out of something and what they make really isnt as practical as they say it is. All of these extra applications are extra baggage, and the military already has rifles that are chambered for all kinds of calibers. The whole "leave no trace of who was there" is kind of ridiculous, they enemy is going to know who was shooting who. There's a reason the military went with the SCAR.

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx This video is from 2008. When the military originally asked for prototypes Bushmaster made it for the 5.56 and 6.8 rounds. The military didn't like the idea of spending more for new expensive ammunition and the ACR was dropped and they went with FNH's Mk 16 and Mk 17, otherwise known as the light and heavy SCARs. At this time Bushmaster opened up possibilities of chambering for 7.62 but the military still didn't buy into it.

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx it can both shoot a 7.62x39 and 7.62 NATO. the biggest it can shoot is the 7.62x39. the problem with those is that they have a different affect on the weapon compared to NATO rounds. thats my opinion when i shot it at the shooting range.

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx it is possible, but you'll have to switch things like the bolt, barrel, and possibly the mag well/lower receiver also, since the 7.62 is a larger round. The scar and acr are basically the same guns, such as reversible charging handles, folding stock, similar trigger mechanisms, etc, but the scar l shoots a 5.56 x 45 NATO while the scar h shoots a 7.62 x 51NATO. All these are very popular among US Army forces since they have high mobility and also very accurate target acquisition

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx also, the scar and acr are both very easy to disassemble as well. Both guns can be taken apart by pushing out just one or two pins in the receiver and handguard. However, many parts are the same on the scar l and scar h, such as same stocks, sights, and upper receivers. So, if a stock on your scar h broke on the battlefield, u can easily switch it out with your scar l stock. Both the acr and scar are perfect for mounting accessories as well, due to the full rail systems on both

@xxxCRAZYLOVExxx it all depends on the shooter at semi-auto, the bullet travels at the same speed because both guns use the same bullet(5.56NATO). As for rate of fire at full auto, I don't know the exact numbers for either gun. I would assume the M4 because it's a carbine and closer to an submachine gun.

To prove whether they really did commit suicide or if they were killed by the Romans is impossible to tell.
