I prefer this ending to the other one because it makes it clear that Michael doesn't really have a motive for killing his sister he just wants the chase her around. He's just playing with his victims because it would too easy and boring to just kill them right away. This ending also establishes just how indestructible Michael is, he takes all those shots and still lives(in the other ending he got shot only a few times and fell of a balcony like in the original).

In a lot of ways I like the alternative ending better than the one they used in the movie. I felt like crying when it showed Lori crying when she was a baby :[ And I wanna find out why Michael stepped forward after he dropped the knife.
