  • if i attach an external flash to the HS20 does the flash fire with each frame in brust mode?? tnx.

  • That's great video, I recently bought that camera, but i want to know how take pictures frames in continous mode WITH THE FLASH fully enabled. The problem is when i want to shoot in dark place, the flash is always disable. Can someone explain on this on please.

  • @Manblack2011 During Continuous shooting, the flash will be disabled. Flash will not work during continuous shooting mode.

  • Why is there no external microphone socket? I'm sure Fuji lose lots of sales because of its omission.

  • @geoffphuket Unfortunately there is no external Mic Input for this camera. The new Fujifilm X-S1 offers a mic input however.

  • @fujiguys I see Fuji have continued with this madness on their latest renditions; the HS25EXR and HS30EXR. As for the X-S1, I've read reviews referring to it as compact camera in large case - which appears to be correct. With a smaller zoom (26x), and only 6M pixel resolution in the best settings, it's another boring let down. When are Fuji going to produce a camera that competes with Canon, Nikon....or even the new Sony cameras like the NEX7 /A65/A77 ?

  • @geoffphuket How about the X-Pro1.

  • I was looking to buy this camera, so I tested it out first. I was only fiddling around with it for a day and I seem to have a few problems. In video mode, the stabilization doesn't seem to work very well. Also, it keeps going in and out of focus. And lastly for the video mode, the videos are kind of wavy. I don't really know what it's called. In shooting mode, the manual zoom and focus are a little jerky. Is there a way to fix that?

  • @AsianxWu Please have a look at the new HS30 camera. It offers improved AF during video as well as the ability to manual focus during video too. As for the "wobby" effect, this happens with cameras that have CMOS sensor.

  • Can this camera have external microphones ? If not, can fujifilm make one PLEASE !!!

  • @keithieboi No it doesnt offer external mic input but the X-S1 does offers such feature.

  • @keithieboi thank you i'm in the same position

  • I want to buy this one, but there are too bad reviews about this cam, how long can i film with it( is there à limit like 30sec), use other cams also AA bat and is it true that the quality gets worser while the bat getting more empty?

    can someone help me!

  • @MsKandahar You can film approx 29minutes of HD vidoes per clip. As for AA(batteries), they have nothing to do with image quality. If you prefer Li-ion, we just announced the HS30EXR that offers Li-ion batteries.

  • I have just bought a HS20 camera but am dissapointed with the picture quality. I can get better photos from my old 4mp minolta camera. I just cannot get sharp images in auto or manual modes. Any ideas please.

  • @YellowroadsterJ200 For long zoom, ensure you can achieve fast enough shutterspeeds. For instance, at 200mm, you need to have a shutterspeed at least 1/200s to prevent camera shake. Also, in lowlight situations, set the camera to EXR and change it to Low Noise/High ISO mode, then change the ISO settings to Auto (800). Use the flash when it's too dark or shutterspeeds drop below 1/40s. For good days, EXR Auto should do the job but again, remember the inverse rule when zoom

  • @fujiguys Thanks for the reply. Suspecting the refurbished/reboxed camera i had bought was faulty I decided to pay the extra and exchanged it for a brand new item. Unfortunately I am still having issues in that the camera refuses to focus on certain shots when on some zoom. I will of course try what you suggest regarding speed, but in "normal" conditions am I best to use it on manual and set the speed/apeture rather than use EXR or Auto modes. Sometimes you just want/need to point and shoot.

  • @YellowroadsterJ200 For normal conditions, having it on EXR auto should be fine. If you notice you will be shooting indoors for the most part, switch it from EXR Auto to EXR S/N Low Noise mode instead and change the ISO to Auto (800) to minimize the camera from selecting too high of an ISO.

  • @YellowroadsterJ200 I had same probs but it turned out 2b my hand shake. So I use a tripod and my pics are so much better and sharper . Also I got familiar with the settings & it made a huge difference 4 me .I also use a remote switch on mine, which also improved images. Hope this helps, just my experience with my HS20 EXR.

  • @tony1ant Thanks for that. Appreciate what you are saying and I will percevere. But while i expect to get a few blurred images may main issue is with the camera refusing to focus in the viewfinder/screen on some static shots. Much of the time I take moving stuff like race cars where a tripod is not possible so I am going to have to find a solution somehow. Never had a problem with my old camera so maybe it is me getting used to this one. Very frustrating.

  • @YellowroadsterJ200

I have the same camera but i have never come across any of your problem. I advice you to use manual mode,it is VERY IMPRESSIVE !! the effects are just awesome. please make some research on the functions of the camera,i mean the way you should set its settings etc. i am sure that you will be amazed

    best regards :)

  • @MasterBoy392 Thanks for advice, I will have to get more practice and experimenting with this camera. Will have to refresh my brain on shutter and apeture stuff. Used to get good results from various 35mm SLR's years ago, and have had no problems over the last 5 years using my digital Minolta.

  • @YellowroadsterJ200

    your welcome :)

hope you will be able to enjoy your hs20 now :)

ohh, minolta, my friend have one,its cool too :)

  • @MasterBoy392 yes I am sure I will get round it by using manual settings, but sometimes it is handy being able to point and shoot on an "auto" mode which this camera doesn't seem to like so much. Maybe it's me. so will try to get some use out of it and see what hapens.

  • @YellowroadsterJ200

i wish you the best of luck my friend :)

  • hxxp://ebasnecu.blogspot.com

some pich with my fuji ;)))

  • hey fuji guys i got a problem with my finepix HS20

well, after 4 months from the of best moments and pictures with my hs20, there's a time when i got busy from the photography that i didnt used my hs20 for about 5 or 7 days.

then when i started using my hs20 again , the problem is when i start using my hs20 now , after 45 sec or a min after turning the camera on , the camera Freeze, just Freeze. then i have to restart it by taking the battery out , and the same thing happens on and on. HELP FUJI!

  • @BullBeatz96 First. Try formatting the SD card using the camera. Go to the setup menu of the camera to do this. If the problem persist, then there is something wrong with the camera. You should contact Fujifilm camera service department for additional help.

  • Can fujifilm make a new firmware for the hs20 with an better bulb mode in manual mode that is more than 30 seconds and better focus in video mode? Thanks!

  • You do a fantastic job, congratulations!! Watch your review over and over, I'm buying it in a couple days, you convinced me guys, you did!!

  • I'm getting this camera for christmas and i want to be useing it for skateboarding.. is it good for that? and can someone link me to a fish eye lens please? :)

  • @gamemaster012345 Should be ok. As for fish eye, we don't offer add-on lens conversion. Try to google for 3rd party that offers such types that fits the thread on the HS20.

  • @fujiguys Thank you ! :) ive just ordered this camera now. i did what you said and searched up 'fish eye lens for HS20.' and a .42x HD Super Wide Angle Panoramic Macro Fisheye Lens came up. Will that be good for photos/videoing skating ? :)

  • @gamemaster012345 Should be fine if it says it fits the HS20. The .42x will make the angle of the lens change from 24mm to around 10mm which is quite wide and definitely considered fisheye..

  • i have a question. Should i get the fuji X10 or HS20exr ? portability is not an issue here. which one gives you more for you money? and which one is better overall?

  • ...and I really appreciate the videos, great learning tool for us visual learning types.

    Cheers

  • Thanks guyz, well good to know, a little disappointing but still love my camera.

  • I love my HS20 guys but have a question for you.

The bulb position does not really work as expected. Even using a remote release cable the shutter cannot be held open for an arbitrarily long exposure - disappointing.

Is this something that could and may be corrected with a future bios update?

Thanks, great camera just surprised and disappointed by this turn of events.

    Stephen

    sgbridgett@gmail.com

  • @MrStephenGB The maximum length of Bulb mode via the "Manual Mode" is 30seconds on the HS20. By holding down the shutter button, you can achieve exposure between the time you press the shutter to a maximum of 30secs (using ISO 100). If ISO200 (max bulb is 15sec)

  • You guys are awesome. Thanks for making these videos! :)

  • how many photos can it take in one held press of the shutter button?

  • @teenagerReviews In the continous shooting mode, you can capture 16 photo's. At full size, it would be at 8fps, at 8MP, it would be at 11fps up to 16 photos.

  • Fuji HS series new year wish lists ( improvement over the current HS20 model ):

~image quality ought to improve, badly. Especially color saturation & noise issues.

~quicker smart on speed focus and smoother hardware zoom tube.

~True Dynamic EXR at 16 mega pixel instead of 8.

  • I bought the hs20 and dust was under the lens in two weeks! I returned it and got another one and dust was under the lens in two days! It's a nice camera for the money. But to think how bad the dust would get over time and the effects on the auto focus? So returned it and went with the Nikon d3100.

  • @candyflossgurl12 Thanks. I love technology as well as photography so it's a bonus when i get to try out all the latest cameras.

  • hi billy, need help with the MACRO, for the life of me, get close to the subject but can't get a decent macro even with tripod. It zooms in on the background : (

    help

  • i've just buy an HS20EXR (29-07-2011), first use there was no problem with it, but few seconds later it become "Hang" after i take a picture, the LCD doesn't go ready for another take...then i try to shut it down, but it doesn't work, the LCD still staring at me, even the button was turned off...then i take out the batteries.

then i try to turned it on again and check the firmware, it is version 1.01 instead of 1.00 ? i decided to turn it to the store...

i hope fuji guys could help me on this..

  • @060109558 Hi. Sorry to hear you are having problems with your camera. 1. Reset the cameras setting via the Setup menu (Menu/ok), choose the "setup tab" and scroll down to "Reset" the camera). 2. Format your memory card using the camera prior to using it. 3. Ensure your batteries have a good charge. Recommend picking up Low Discharged NiMH batteries like Sanyo Eneloop. 4. The latest firmware is 1.03, you can try updating it from our support website on Fujifilm.ca

  • @fujiguys Hi fujiguys. i had the same problem. and i have tried your solution. its doesn't work. i only can took two picture after following your procedure(s), then it hang again. please help me. i love this camera. thanks.

  • @orence69 I would check with fujifilm service centre in your area if you continue to have issues. Canada 1-800-461-0416. US, 1-800-800-FUJI, everywhere else, check your local fuijfilm website for contact numbers.

  • it's got everything like SLR But the replaceable lens , why we can say it's SLR ?

  • @BullBeatz96 It's because the one thing that makes a SLR and SLR is the fact that when you look at the eye piece, you are actually looking direclty through the lens (optically). With the HS20, you are looking through the lens however it is an electronic representation of it instead.

  • @fujiguys

there's DSLRs with an Electronic view finders , like the sony alpha A55 and A33 , how is that ?

  • @BullBeatz96 Sorry, your correct. They do offer an electronic viewfinder. I guess the line from Bridge-camera and D-SLR are getting more blur these days. Lets than say that an SLR has a mirror that flips up to reveal a image sensor where as the HS20, it does not have a mirror.

  • @fujiguys From wiki "A single-lens reflex (SLR) camera is a camera that typically uses a semi-automatic moving mirror system (hence the name "reflex", from the mirror's reflection) that permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to pre-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film."

  • what does greg do except telling that its awsome??

  • @clickerstickz It also says "wow".

  • Hello! first of all tks for your answer.

i made some tests recording and taking pictures without my memory card and the same problem appeared... so i sent the camera to technical support this week.

But i will keep in mind your recomendations.

    thks again!

  • This camera is making me crazy ¬¬ i have one and it always present problems after recording at full hd or even HD movies... i can't even turn off with the button.. i have to take out the batteries to turn it off.

It's a lot of problem for a 2 weeks of use camera

  • @alexknot Hi, Please ensure you are not deleting images from the camera when connected to your computer. This can cause such issues. After download your images, try formating the memory card using the camera. And when deleting images, use the camera to do this while disconnected from the computer.

  • The Fuji gays..!

  • @DaMatta11 Finally!, it took almost two years for this comment happen. i thought it would have been the first hour when the Fuji Guys videos were first posted. :-)

  • @DaMatta11,

    LOL

  • is this a dslr or just a point and shoot bridge camera?

  • @selfpotatoguy87 Bridge camera. Not an DSLR

  • @fujiguys thanks but that kinda sucks i was hoping it would be a cheap dslr

  • you lack humorous approach guys .....

  • In my experience,Fujifilm is a very nice Prodact camera , but what makes me sad in some part is about the Battery.

Really confuse that Fuji ,after all those great prodact , still we have to use AA battery.

I Really would love to buy a Fujifilm HS20 , but some how I dont feel confortable about the Battery.

Hope Fujifilm can change this part soon.

  • @typicalgold Should try the new Low Discharged NiMH like Sanyo Eneloop. They are very good and last typical longer than normal NiMH. AA are offered since this camera is taken on travels a lot. You forgot to charge, or the batteries dies, you can pickup AA anywhere. They are also cheaper to replace. Li-ion has its advantages and i would like to see a hybrid system that takes both in the future.

  • @fujiguys

Hello Again! Is that true Fujifil want to increase the Price? Dont you think the price is alreay High for this Model and several others of Fuji product ?

  • @typicalgold The tendency actually is a price decrease as the product life grows and not a price increase.

  • hi! I have the F500 exr can you make a video of some of its top feature and how to take a good photos. and what's the big difference of HS20 and F500 except for the long zoom ? thanks!

  • @rommelhp Ok but first, can you check out the F550EXR top features video. F550 and F500 are the same except for a few minor things like GPS only on F550, RAW shooting only on F550, and slightly larger buffer for continous shooting on F550. Other than that, performance are the same.

  • FujiGuys, Has there been any answer yet from Tokyo about the video camera 'hunting' to lock onto an image? I keep trying to get help - or some sort of reasonable answer - but have gotten nothing that worked. This is a great camera but I am really starting to get upset that Fuji would release a flawed product and then do nothing (satisfactory) to address this problem.

  • @Tampalocators I will follow up again. In the mean time, try setting the camera to the "P" mode and selecting the Movie AF to "Centre" when filming video. If in EXR mode, the focus seems to continually adjust and not stay put.

  • few weaknesses. The zoom tube seems pretty mechanical. I've to apply some Teflon to make it feel like real SLR zooms. Multiple shots in high resolution mode is a little slow to store. Although this 16 mega pixel camera in way better than HS10, but quality still need to improve. The zoom focal anti-blur anti shake tech in this camera is a little disappointed - lag lag and lag. Last but not least, the switch on mode still room to improve.

  • Hi, I'm still waiting for the EF-42 Flash to come out.

Do you have a release date?

My decision to buy the HS20 will be greatly affected by the review of you'r TTL system.

    Thanks.

  • @DarkQuasar88 It is available now (well at least in Canada).

  • Hi, I have had the HS20 for a few weeks now, I did have an issue with slow start up which you advised to format the sd card which worked.. however a week later the problem has returned. Would this be a sd card or camera fault?

Also agree with the comments re the poor video quality/focusing

  • @rosstyle1 Try formating the card again. Secondly, when downloading images from the camera, ensure you use the camera to delete images and not the computer. When unplugging the camera, ensure you use the safe method of ejecting the camera (PC, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the bottom right of the screen, for Mac, in the finder, click the "eject" button that pertains to the camera.

  • @rosstyle1 If the problem persist, try with a different SD cards

  • @fujiguys

How smooth is the manual zoom? I've read some reviews and there are claims that zooming doesn't allow smooth transitions in video mode especially... I've used Nikon D3100 with kit lens and zooming down that barrel feels really really pleasant and no irregularities are found...

  • @stanosijek Yes, the zoom is a little more stiff than DSLR cameras. However if you are looking at filming, typically, Zooming is avoided in the movie industry. They work on clipping various scenes together vs recording a scene then zooming in during the recording. Same thing for panning, cutscenes are used vs panning the scene.

  • @fujiguys Thanks for the quick response! One more question... Is zooming on the HS20 stiffer than DSLR-s all the way through zoom from wide-angle to full telephoto or can I experience "bumps" on that road where I could feel uneven resistance from the lens?

  • @stanosijek No, the zoom feel is the same all the way from wide angle to full telephoto on the HS20. It's just not as smooth as some DSLR lenses.

  • @fujiguys It may help applied some Teflon coating.

  • Hey , I got my Fuji Hs 20 today. I am really shocked by the awful performance especially when in video mode it seems out of focus . Overall i think this camera sucks and fuji did nothing to improve the video focus from the previous Fuji Hs 10 .

  • @lex79924647 Sorry to hear you are having some difficulties with the HS20. The photo's are very good from this camera. We are checking on the AF during video to determine AF performance on the HS20. Our findings will be forwarded to Tokyo for examination. Thanks

  • @fujiguys thanks a lot. I hope that next time the product's weakness would be addressed , because its such a shame that it takes great photos but low quality videos. take care and sorry if i sounded a bit aggresive in my earlier comment .if the video auto focus is addressed i think it would be the best camera on the market right now.

  • Hi guys, thanks for your wonderful information. I got my HS20 this Friday and *YES* it is faster than HS10 and pictures are better. However I have been experiencing overheating warning after 10 minutes of continuous use.. then after that shows camera to hot and turns off... using video it also heats up fast and when hot losses focus.. Called amazon and they offered to replace it , been reading reviews of other that have bought and they have experience the same.. is this normal functionality.

  • @siemprefine The manual indicates the following; The temperature of the camera may rise if it is used to record movies for an extended period or if the ambient temperature is high. This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction. However, 10 minutes seems to me a little short time to over heat. Let me check with Tokyo on this. Thanks for the information

  • @fujiguys

    Is this a DSLR? Thanks!

  • @RonanChromy100 No. Due to the fast that the lense can not be interchanged. Secondly, the eye viewfinder is an Electronic viewfinder vs an optical on a DSLR camera. The HS20 is to give consumers a excellent all-a-round camera with DSLR like features, controls, functionality but offer a complete package by having a lenses that covers most of your photographic range. From Super Macro close-up (1cm), and zoom with 24mm to 720mm (30x zoom).

  • Hi fujiguys,

I have read manual but I have some questions.

    1. Is it possible to change shutter speed/aperture in SN EXR mode?

    2. Is low light response better when image size M is selected? (in other words: does the camera use advantages od EXR sensor when M size is selected in P,S,A,M modes?)

  • @az65535 1. No. In EXR mode, exposure is controlled automatically. 2. I have been asked similar questions for older models like the F200, F70, F80 as well. I never got clarification from Tokyo as every time i ask the question, i get a completely incorrect response. No matter how well/clear i write the question, Tokyo comes back with an answer that does not even explain this. I will try again.

  • @az65535 you would have to manually adjust the settings to get better low light shots. For example, in low light situations, you would want to set your aperture to the widest it could go, and set a shutter speed slow enough that it could gather enough light for a good shot, but fast enough to not induce camera shake. if your using a tripod, then you could keep the shutter open for longer times allowing for beautiful night shots.

  • when is the part 3 coming out, im eagerly waitin to see how the camera performs on field, nevertheless it a gr8 camera

  • @aristomendis1 Will post for April 1. See the "Getting Started" video for now, youtu.be/Db8Jzrd8ghA?hd=1

  • @fujiguys , yup did see it , nice video, detailed

  • Will we EVER get part 3 or you decided it was not worth the product! Am starting to have some doubts!

If the Polish manage to get online a "pirate" review 10 days ago why are we still waiting for our friendly Fujiguys???????

Man! We are just asking you to sell it to us!

  • @Helldiver18 Sorry, i know, its taking a while. Aiming for April 1 (i am not fooling you). check out at least the "Getting Started" video for now, youtu.be/Db8Jzrd8ghA?hd=1

  • @fujiguys

April 1st, today..... You are sooooo cruel to let us wait so long for part 3. ;-)))

  • @CCLSC Sorry, Had trouble filming the back of the LCD on some cutscene demo's. Need to do them next week so i can finish part 3 (probably inside instead)

  • @fujiguys

Thanks and have a good w/end!

  • @fujiguys

    R U still working on part 3?

  • @CCLSC :( Sadly, i am stuck on some cutscenes where i need to record the LCD screen, but i can't film as it's too bright. Aiming for this Friday however.. Thanks

  • One the fatal flaws of this camera seems to be the manual zoom. When filming videos, the zooming is jerky and introduces camera shake forcing the need for a tripod for movies - isn't this true? On standard cameras you can zoom in smoothly while filming. Any replies?

  • @Pothila Yes, zooming during video, there is a good chance to add shake however it is not different than most DSLR that offer the video mode. On a DSLR, when you film and use the zoom, you will also hear sounds recording of the lense moving in and out. Movie functionality is not too much difference than so DSLR. If you are looking for quite zoom during video (and video is your number 1 priority), then please look for a dedicated Video camera.

  • Thank's for your reply.

  • Does the HS20 have the 2x digital zoom that is available with the HS10?

  • @fujiguys Thanks....

  • Hey guys, why did you decide against the 2x digital zoom that is available with the HS10?

  • @CCLSC There is no real reason for not offering 2x digital zoom however cropping can be perform within the camera after you take the photo (which is basically digital zoom)

  • hi guys, thanks for sharing your knowledge....

I have the HS20exr on my shopping card not sure if buy. I had the HS10 for 3 weeks only and sold it because 3 not desirables features

1 the time between shot and shot

2 when multiple shots "burst" it disable the camera after for a few seconds untill it process the images and saves them.

3 when deleting a picture it goes to the beginning of all.

for the rest the camera is grate or i wouldnt be buying hs20

please advise if this has been corrected?

  • @siemprefine 1. Faster than HS10 but not compared to a true DSLR (interchangeable lens). 2. Similar but benefits of CMOS allow for faster read/writing. 3. This was fixed via a firmware for the HS10. Not a problem with HS20. Thanks,

  • when is the part 3 coming out, im eagerly waitin to see how the camera performs on field, nevertheless it a gr8 camera

  • When can i buy it? When's the release date?

  • @FSAG007 Fuji Authorized retailer near you. Check the Fujifilm website for Where to buy. Available April 1, 2011

  • Would The video quality improve? because thats what im looking for in this camera.

  • @bulldozerHW Yes, especially in low light, the quality of video is much better, even against our competition.

  • does Fuji plans to provide any battery grip to S series camera ? especially to HS 20 ?

  • @vl10xpc No grip accessory however i recommend a good set of Low Discharged NiMH for HS20

  • does this camera film with autofocus ?

  • @vl10xpc Yes, but you can also set Manual focus. With MF however, it can only be set prior to shooting and not during.

  • Hello. A few questions. When is the release date for Europe? More presicely, for Portugal. And what's the price? I saw it on amazon at 499,95$ but what price is planned for Europe, should i convert to Euro, and the result represents my price?

  • @Jorginni08 I can't say exactly however it will be available in the US/CAN in beginning of April. Price is usually higher in Europe even when you convert to Euro (higher taxes i presume).

  • Is the tripod mount metal or plastic?

It's a pity that the tripod mount is off centre of the lens.

  • @arrow501 Hard to tell as it's black however placed a magnet on it and it stuck (so metal)

  • @fujiguys Great, that's good news. Thank you :)

  • Where can I buy this?

  • @mthfckooo9 This camera will be available first week of April, 2011 at most Fujifilm authorized retailers. Check out our website fujifilm ca to see where to buy in Canada.

  • wheres the 3rd part of the vdo :(

  • @1994kaushal Working on them, I have changed Part 3 to be more demo's and less of us talking. It's cold outside so looking for a good day to finish the demo portion of the videos. Next week hopefully. Thanks for subcribing.

  • If you've got money for the 550D, just go for it.....it has nothing to do with the Fuji. Obviously is a much better DSLR for double the price....Thus, you cant compare these two camereas, since is not a like with like.

  • forgot to mention his feedback about diferences between HS10 (that he owns too!!!) and the HS20 (blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ctqcc450/23984716.html#23984716): " I do not feel the difference of the image quality so much because there is no change in the lens.

However, the auto focus performance and the high sensitivity performance improve greatly."

PS Fuji guy times to deliver!!!!!!!! :-)

  • a Japanese friend bought the HS20EXr and posted some zoom sample on: blogs.yahoo.co.jp/ctqcc450/23984716.html#23984716

  • Seems like the Polish started the show of the images samples: fujiklub.pl/viewtopic.php?p=206374#206374

    zoom works nice!

  • does it have an external mic plug? or could the hot shoe be used for a mic?

  • @MrWillwalker No external mic plug. Hot shoe can't be used either for mic input of any kind.

  • for the one desperate like me to get the HS20 here one more video from the 8th of Mars coming from Digital Camera.com: youtube.com/watch?v=fiY6MFRW1rU

  • does it need batteries

  • @mikescoob94 It includes 4xAA alkaline batteries. We recommend you purchase a good set of rechargeable NiMH batteries. Low Discharged NiMH are ideal similar to Sanyo "Eneloop"

  • nice videos, i have three questions, though (maybe you mentioned it, but I hope you reply nonetheless :) ):

1.) Can you zoom while recording video with sound? I believe to remember som issues there with the HS10

2.) You didn´t show it: Does the HS20 have no flash at all? It has a shoe for external flash-attachment, but what about built-in flash?

3.) HS20 has manual focusing. Does it have the manual zooming that the HS10 had, too, or just mechanical zooming?

    thx!

  • @MFauli 1. Yes, It has a manual controlled zoom so you can zoom during video recording. 2. Yes, HS20 has a built-in flash, there is a button on the side to pop the flash up. 3. Yes, manual focus using the manual focus ring on the lens and also manual zooming.

  • @fujiguys thx for the quick reply :)

  • I just heard from Fuji France that the HS20EXR will NOT be delivered with the Lens hood! In January only the Chinese market was going to miss the hood! Now Europe too??????

  • @Helldiver18 Some my notes, the Lens Hood is included in all regions except for China and Japan. Please re-confirm with Fujifilm France as my notes are dated Jan 17, 2011 and things may have changed.

  • Any word on when the HS20 is going to be released? I heard it was sometime in March. I want to buy this camera BUT it needs to come out soon or I will have to move on to a different camera.

  • @GreatSunsets First week of April 2011 in Canada.

  • What is the maximum aperture on 35mm eq: 35, 50, 80, 135, 200 and 300mm ?

I'm curious if this camera can come in handy to portraits and such.

looking forward to part 3 :)

  • @GunnarLoeb These numbers are obtained by setting the camera to aperture priority and then zooming out to each focal lenght, 24mm: f2.8, 35: f3.2, 50: f3.6, 80: f4.0, 135: f4.5, 200: f5, 300: f5, 500: f5, 720: f5.6.
