  • @rapistmurderer less reflective screen...Yes, faster loading page...No, better scrolling....Depends on person (iPad scrolls more slowly but more smoothly which is the best combo in my opinion)

  • i noticed that when i record my prime with my phone that there is screen flicker that my prime doesn't have.

  • The ipad 2 has a much less reflective screen, faster page loading and better scrolling.

  • I've just put ICS on my Samsung G S2 and I have to say Android 4.0 is phenomenally beautiful

  • @EvansAdam100 We think it's a very mature mobile OS. enjoy on your S II!

  • What OS was on the prime, because HC doesnt use all 4 cores.

  • @Phoenixis the Prime was using Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

  • Ritchie, I noticed the Prime's screen has those annoying lines like in CRT/ LCD screens while the iPad doesn't...why?

  • @survivorproject You are looking this video on a laptop? Because the lines you notice I saw them when I watched the video on my laptop, now I am on my desktop and I don’t see them… they are probably caused by the contrast of the refresh rate on the Prime screen and your monitor… just guessing!

  • LOVE THE 90's PORN Music!

  • @Danhnrtz23 It's a sexy product, need the appropriate theme music :-)

  • Cool tablet but gay music

  • @dikslap32 We try to please everyone :-)

  • @RitchiesRoomTV "We try to please everyone :-)"

    amazing reply, loved it ;)

  • i just ordered the PS Vita. i really want to get this but I have a laptop/ps3/iphone 4s. hmmmm wonder would it be useful?

  • @iSprint4GEyes Had that issue too but i have decided on this. Even though I could squeeze in a vita as well.

  • @shikori7 i got both :-)

  • @shikori7 7 thanks. well first i preordered the Vita, then I ordered the prime off officedepot so I couldn't decide which to get. surprisingly I use both equally, I use the Prime when my hp laptop dies after 2 hours of use or when I'm in the car with family... I use the Vita when I'm just tired of browsing/during commercial breaks :-)

  • @iSprint4GEyes

    cancel your PS Vita.

  • Thanks Richie, Great video as usual. Have to say, as much as I think Apple is overrated/overpriced, but damn, iOS is so clean. Even with a slower processor, its still so smooth. Can't wait 'til android gets that clean.

  • @CrittyWitty Thank you! If intuitive and works right out of the box, then iOS is hard to beat. Android is definitely for users who want to make an effort in exploring the system a bit more to make it more personalised. I like that, and many people will, but there are those who just want "clean" and "simple".

  • @RitchiesRoomTV iOS jailbroken can pretty much do that.

  • @GetPatriotized That's true but a lot of people do just want the "out of the box" experience. If you are going to jailbreak your iPad, then you may like Android because you can more easily customise it.

  • @RitchiesRoomTV I already have an Android phone.

I love both OSs. Not a fanboy.

  • @CrittyWitty Agree!

  • @RitchiesRoomTV yeah mainly just the stock browser and YouTube. When I saw in my home menu in YouTube you uploaded this video, I tapped it and it just froze there with the video screen open and it wouldn't respond at all. The home/back buttons didn't work and didn't even light up. It stayed like that for about 30 seconds, then the screen went black and the eee pad logo came up and the device rebooted itself normally. The browser just seems to not respond and crash when I have over 5 tabs open or

  • Hey Ritchie, I got a few questions regarding your transformer prime. Does it crash often? because mine crashes extremely frequently, especially after the 9.4.2.11 update. It is mainly with YouTube and the browser which sometimes just crashes it completely so it has to reboot. I even restored it to factory default and re-installed everything again but there seemed to be no difference. Did you have any problems like this? Thanks

  • @1lann Hi we got a retail sample to play with for a day and we didn't have any issues with it crashing. We get it back again this weekend I'll take it through it's paces and see what happens. I let you know over the weekend how we went. Was it mainly YouTube and the default browser?

  • @RitchiesRoomTV Thanks for the review. Looks like a cool tablet. Can't beat what Apple has in the works though. I made a video today about the ipad 3 which I think you would like. No tablet company can compete with the creativity and ingenuity of Apple.

  • Gah, i was trying to say that on the in browser version for the prime, the youtube UI is slightly modified from the desktop version so google did take some consideration on in browser version of youtube for android devices. Then I was trying to say when you go full screen ect... (I suck at speed typing with tablets) Also, strangely enough, m.youtube.com on the prime loads youtube as mp4 so you get a player virtually the same as the ipads.

  • @1lann Thanks for all the points you make here. The in-browser experience is a fighting ground for iOS and Android, with Flash content separating them most of the time. With video content being the major media now consumed on the internet, the user experience will be paramount to the success of the device. That said, despite the iPad's less flexible approach, it is still the number one tablet device.

  • @RitchiesRoomTV Totally agree on that part. The buttons for the youtube UI are wayyy to small in full screen while using the browser. I always accidentally hit the notifications bar. The iOS seems to be more focused on ease of use while android focuses on customization and flexibility.

  • @1lann I think you just described the total iOS and Android strategy in your last sentence. The question is if users will gravitate to Android for that personalisation experience. So far the market leans towards "it just works".

  • it changes to 480p from 340p so it saves you bandwidth while you're in the smaller player, whereas the ipad use 480p and stays as 480 while in fullscreen. That is why the transformer prime's screen goes black for a short while while switching to full screen. Also you can also press the youtube button on the UI on the prime to load the video from the youtube app. Also don't forget, on the prime you get to choose your resolution from 240p to HD. So you get much more flexibility for playing videos

  • @1lann Yes that is the reason you get a slight pause when you go to full screen but the trade off, as you rightly mentioned, is you have a wider selection of resolutions to choose from.

  • @RitchiesRoomTV (YouTube is owned by Google so it's really more closer to android) It really works by Google converting the uploaded content to many formats. WebM, Flash and MP4 or H.264 as you said. The android and ios YouTube app uses the MP4 format while in the browser, ios continues to use it through MP4 using it's own player but android uses flash. However I noticed that the UI for YouTube in the browser is actually slightly modified from the desktop versiom and when you go full screen

  • @1lann Thats correct, YouTube does convert it to many different formats and then serves it up as required.

  • you like humiliate the ipad 2?... very good! GREAT VIDEO! :D!

  • @FiNiSt3rRa No here to humiliate the iPad at all, just comparing the Prime to the world's best selling tablet. If you're going to do some benchmarking, why not go straight to the top?

  • This might be a silly question but please dont mind me, does your ipad have flash in it? How come its running the video directly on the page? Thnx for your great videos btw.

  • @RebasUno No it's actually a really good question. From my understanding, the Safari browser on the iPad is simply taking the H.264 codec version of the embedded video and playing that back on its own player - it's not actually playing a flash version. YouTube and Apple work pretty closely together so it would make sense that Apple would find a way to make YouTube videos playable within a browser instead of having to open the YouTube app. It's a great development on Apple's part to be honest.

  • @RebasUno It's not running flash. The video can be played because youtube supports HTML5

  • @MrIdrinkpiss HOLY Sh** I am so behind in tech news! Gosh Thanks a lot. And keep up the great videos

  • So Ipad is quiker in some things and the Asus in other things so they are too close no?

  • @kolakok1 Yes that seems to be case. It's hard to separate them.
