@Chris7689333 yes very few people actually die in this show, especially bad guys. which is one of the things i like over other shows like bleach where every bad guy gets owned. and i dont think its necessary to kill every bad guy. if Arlong died instead of just getting his ass beat and then arrested by the marine, would that make a difference to you? by keeping them alive, the option to bring them back into the show is there aswell.

I think he should die aswell but very few people actually DIE in One piece and someone as important as a admiral is probably going to get owned by Luffy later. One piece is one of the most thought out animes out there in my opinion so i definitely think there is a reason Akainu is alive.

Then, he destroys and island. And after that he fights Blackbeard, and almost kills him several times. And after all of that, he dies standing up.
