i follow all the instruction and i was stock at 9:45 because i dont know what to do after that. all i heard from your tut. is "run top" what was that? where i could find that one?
I can't see to keep the icon on my task bar. I had it there but I was messing around customizing my task bars and i deleted the icon, I can connect to everything just fine after typing nm-applet & but once i close that terminal it shuts the program down. any one help me with this?
1) No. Backtrack is a Linux distribution. You don't need to already have linux to start using linux. You should get instructions on how to install or run Backtrack (or some other type of linux). Before you think about installing though, use iso burning software to create a live CD or live DVD. It's a CD or DVD that you can boot your computer from to run linux without installing to your hard drive. Boot your Macbook and other computers from the live DVD to see if it'll work ok.
i want to learn hacking, like network security etc. im 17, almost like Lulzsec but a White hat. i need somewhere to start can someone suggest where i should search? or what i should learn? java php ?
@HydraeNox I write a lot of segments, do a lot of research and work on graphics and other stuff to bring out new products. Shannon manages the HakShop, writes segments, manages our social networking presence. Paul edits, continues to build out the studio, works on -insert secret project here- . It's a pretty busy little studio/lab/office/fire house. You're welcome to visit :)
also why do americans want to watch iplayer? what shows do we have on there that interests you guys? i use a vpn for hulu but thats because US rocks ;)
@Hak5Darren Thanks for the reply, would love to visit but I'm English, so it would be difficult for me to visit. Do you work for a firm developing products or are you independent? I find it interesting what the 'geeks' do behind the scenes in their spare time.
skip to 3:47 to avoid wasting your time

Hey, maybe silly questions, but:
1) do we need Linux installed before using Backtrack?
2) Does it work on Mac OS? Cuz' my only Laptop that makes decent wi-fi connexions is a Macbook

In backtrack 5, how do I re-install and application such as ettercap?
graveF34R 7 months ago
@core215311 As you may have noticed, most of the audience isn't 7 years old so that shit won't fly as well as it would on a Justin Bieber video.
