James Randi would probably have him attempt to magnetically attract a small round metal ball (or something else that couldn't be cupped, suctioned, or otherwise falsely stuck to your skin). Then this guy would suddenly "lose" his powers and claim he needed time to regain them.
Hand suction?! Look at his interviews videos etc.. he can do the same thing on his forehead with a big pot and his chest how do you produce suction the oh yes he can bang them together and it's not just bowls anyhow I doubt hes magnetic but I do wonder what he's doing
That's a simple vacuum or suction reaction and has nothing to do with magnetism.
In fact, do the same trick, but this time put talcum powder on your hands instead of the object and do the trick with a much smaller object. You won't succeed and it won't stick.
I could do that same trick from the time I was like 5...you just have to form a suction between your palm and the bowl...I challenge you to pick up the bowl by it's side, or even the inside of the bowl...Why do you need to wipe the powder away from the bowl...If your so magnetic, the only thing that should interfere with your powers is a METALIC object or an Electrical Field...I do not believe Talc is metal, and it does not produce any significant EMF...BTW Did you get that Million Yet?
@Gatlun In fact, if he's magnetic, small objects should stick to his top of his fingers alone, even with cloth or paper between. I'm willing to be he's not able to.
@chrisofnottingham Doesn't matter, he's using the effect of suction by vacuum here. Anyone can do that even with powder on their hands. It's a matter of pressing air from underneath your hand.
Well, the real test is obviously to see if any random person can do exactly what he's doing and get the same results. Of course, it's hard to tell exactly what he's doing. It's a video. Could have been faked any number of ways. I saw a movie once where someone flies, and you can't see strings or anything!
@ajkochanowicz If his hand really was just sticking to the bowl, there was enough powder still on the bowl to keep it from sticking----try putting a very tiny thin layer of powder on tape and try to stick it on a wall
@SigmaKidd If he's magnetic, he should be able to pull the same off with a certain amount of clothing in between. I'm sure he fails there though. Irons and what not will stick on skin, but never with clothing in between.
K, there was suction between his hand and the bowl. You could tell it had a negative shape response with respect to his hand, thereby forming a concave dimension between both objects. His hand would have forced all the air out from between both it and the bowl before lifting the bowl up off the surface. I could easily do that trick myself.
Okay...why does he wipe off the talcum powder???!!! Then when he lets the object go and holds up his hand there is no talcum powder on the palm of his hand!!! I would like to think this guy can actually do this...but let's see him prove it. Search:
I agree with SupraJulie. I would like to see this done with a paper barrier. Use real magnets first, to show the paper does not interfere. Also, I would like to see it done with an irregular surface of metal that cannot rely on friction or suction.
That's great but i would be shocked if "James Randi" gives you the million Dollars! In his challenge to authenticate a case of real "Faith healing" for instance, one of his clauses was that the disease must be incurable, and it must be a disease that medically could not have gone into spontaneous remission. Right there he ruled out every healing, because any disease, "though rare" can potentially go into spontaneous remission. Thus his get of the hook card!
hahaha the circle on his hand indicates he caused a vacuum effect on the bowl, suck a little bit of air out of a coke bottle and stick ur hand over it, same thing.
this is one of the stupidest things i have ever seen...
do the same thing with a bowl that doesn't have a concave bottom.
yeah, that's what i thought.
this video just goes to show how pathetic & stupid people can be. even if you don't know how he's doing it, don't just assume it's magic, or he's magnetic, use your pathetic little brain & try to figure it out!
@dieyou2000 He was on Stan Lee's Super Humans and what they think it is, is that he increases the electrical conductivity on his body which allows him to stick things to himself. He was able to do it through years of meditation and practice, not a mutation.
@dieyou2000 Yes that is true, but Miroslaw didn't claim to have used magic, faith, or a particular god. He uses psychokinesis, which is moving or manipulating matter with his mind. He did that by raising his electric conductivity.
@SlashTheGuitarist You can't manipulate matter with your mind. Point me to proof you can and I will believe you. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
@Xerock uh yes they did I'm watching it right now, at 23:40 the scientist says skin conductance, which is the electrical conductivity of the skin. If you want to prove me wrong, look it up (Galvanic skin response). Our bodies are powered by electrical signals, the nervous system, the heart, so you might as well shut the fuck up right now before you make yourself look even more stupid
@Xerock Oh.My.Fucking.God. You are ridiculous. The video of Stan Lee's Super Humans you idiot. When they are in the lab. I like how you probably went on that wikipedia page and found the section where it mentions the Church of Scientology. Now if you were smart, you would have read the part where it mentions its use in polygraphs and that the only reason it is less frequently used is because EEGs and MRIs are better for psychological research, which was one of GSR's many uses.
So he's magnetic perhaps he could demonstrate the magnetic field by putting his hand near a monitor? Perhaps you could magnetize your forearm and attempt to pick up several screws?
More importantly if this was actually magnetism, what is the point? I mean what does this seemingly paranormal power actually do that normal people can't already do?
Why is the claim, never something that actually makes a difference. Psychics can't warn about terrorist attacks but can guess irrelevant information.
Um, so you're just using suction. It's... painfully obvious.
Next time, pick it up with a fingertip, release it in the air, and "re-magnetize" to catch it again in the air. Then it might be easier to support your claims.
I think you're just using suction to get it to stick to your hand, talcum powder or not... If you're really magnetic then do it through a piece of paper.
@Stopmotionist 1) He doesn't do it with his forehead here. 2) Other 'magnetic' individuals who do similar things, many of whom state they know they aren't actually magnetic, are thought to have small irregularities in their skin which makes their skin 'sticky' in the same way that squirrels and geckos have 'sticky' feet. If he's magnetic he can do it through a piece of paper.
I see... ok explain to me why you haven't checked the one where he wears gloves. Same concept as using a piece of paper. Also, among the many scientists with PH.d, wouldn't you say that they would have thought about all angles including using another material in front of the object to be lifted?
yes there are a bunch of scientists who are testing him but their tests prove inconclusive at the moment. They are banking on internal chemical factors.
Ok, I saw your "proof" and it always amuses me how little correlative evidence people need to believe in this kind of nonsense. This guy was using his own pots and pans. Any legitimate test would have used something other than what the guy brought in with him, and they also would have requested that he use other part of his body (ie the back of his hand or the side of his head).
Let me see if I understand this correctly: He claims to be able attract metal objects to his hand via some form of self emitting "magnetism". He proves this by placing talcum powder on a metal bowl, placing his hand on it, lifting it into the air & shaking it to show that it is indeed attached to his hand via "magnetism"...Yet to remove the bowl, even though vigorous shaking was unable to release it, all he does is simply put the bowl down and his magnetic energy just...I dunno...turns....off???
I don't get why people try these kinds of things any way. What's the point in trying to trick people? And so what if you get a bunch of gullible idiots to believe that you are magnetic? All it takes is for someone to throw their keys at you and there you go, you aren't magnetic.
...he shows his hand at the end, and there's a perfect circle where he wiped the talcum powder off of the bowl! The entire point is for there to be a small barrier preventing suction from being involved. This is painfully fake.
I don't get it? Is this supposed to be psychic power? Pick up a bowl without using your mind? What's the talcum powder for then? Why do all these people even have to use their hands anyway? Why can't they just do it? What good is this "power" if they still have to touch things (or get really close) and usually take more time (and apparently effort) to do it than a "normal" person would?
uri geller made a compass needle move "with the power of his mind". James Randi showed how it is done: a small powerful disc-shaped magnet is taped between 2 fingers with flesh-coloured tape so when he moves his hand needle moves. Very simple. This is the same or some other magical trick. The gullibillity of some people never ceases to amaze me.
@zoltanical Sounds logical, but how did he release the bowl so easily? Magents don't have an off-switch. Was it an electromagnet? If so, how did he turn it off? Just wondering.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
dude the powder is not used as an adhesive or anything the power was to show that wasnt happening my friend u kinda got it wrong but i agree with u on 1 thing that is totally fake i know I am a magician and i know trickery when i see it
Actually, he's gonne trough endless medical exams to explain his skill. He really uses psychokinesis, altough this clip doesn't seem real, because of the powder and all. Check Miroslaw Magola, you'll be quite surprised.
Is it only me who saw him smear the talcom powder around with his finger? (Clearing a space for his perspiration)
Is it only me who saw the distinct lack of talcom power on his hand?
No no no... To debunk Randi, you need to do it with a MOUND of powder on an IRREGULAR SHAPED object. Or, simply a mound of power on a regular shaped object.
Well over all people can do weird stuff and others might not like it. most people don't want that kind of money they probably get what they want just by doing demonstrations im staying neutral in this one
What is this? He is claiming to debunk the James Randi Education Fundation...Well why the fuck doesn`t he march down there and collect his million? James Randi for the past umpteen years has been offering anyone one million bucks who can show true supernatural powers.
heu?! ... anyone went to school? all the pots he uses are stainless steel (probably even with copper): those metals are NOT magnetic. i vote for the suction thing (things are shinny and/or very flat) ... with areas of the body that are flat and without hair ... try with the part of the head that has hair (wait a week or so to have some hair grown). boooooring, next. don't even waste JR's time, please.
Then why call himself 'magnetic man'? I would think he would go to special trouble to make sure the pots etc could be magnetically attracted. Of course, no metal is magnetic unless it is first magnetised and can be magnetised..
whats with the powder and all of this add on bull shit. any dumb ass can do that. real power is standing away from the item and moving it with from a distance. what a fucking joke and people actually believe this guy. lol
Hahaha - Maybe suction? Maybe his hand is wet or damp, and the powder isn't "baby powder" or "foot powder" as the container indicates, but really powdered "denture adhesive"? A real demonstration please! LOL (I know you're having fun, and don't actually think you have any powers, but we need LESS of this garbage, not more of it!)
Lol, how funny... Well, to get to the debunking: First, you never see what is in his hand before he puts the bowl down again, so that's already worth examining.
Second, if you are genuine, go get the one million dollars. And before you say "Oh I don't need one million dollars", well others do. You can donate them if you wish. (Or are you such an egotistical man that you wouldn't want to pass a simple test to get a free 1 million dollars and give it to poor people?)
True, though there are possibly other effects in play too, like the "fat" ever present on our skin which may serve not only as a sealant for his suction cup effect but is also a bit sticky.
For a long time now, I have been wanting to appear in a TV challenge like the one I performed in my internet video clips. A prize of 1 million dollars has been offered for this. I cannot wait to get a reaction and an offer from the sceptics who are speaking about a hoax; these people have avoided meeting me so far.

Why do you wipe the powder off the base of the bowl before "attracting it with your magnetic powers?" Baby powder has no effect on magnetism. Also, why don't you use something other than the flat bottoms of lightweight bowls?
Why don't you put your hand insipe a cup with smaller things like nails or pins, a buch of them at once, see if they stick on you, like a magnet would work. You just use pots and pans all the time. James Randi invited people "like you" to go over there, without fuss or anything, and talk to him. Get one million dollars TODAY.
What the hell are you talking about they have avoided meeting you. Go down there and use your super powers lmfao to win that one million. Your such a joke it's not even. Are you mentally ill?
I'm curious if you've sent in an application yet to the JREF. Randi . org is where you can apply, and you design the test, it's really easy, and I hope you win the million. That would be awesome. Keep us updated!
Honestly, people like Chris Angel and Uri Geller have absolutely nothing on you. I applaud you for your successful scientific showing on 'Stan Lee's Superhumans' as well.
There are other people on Earth that have the same talent - they can attract metal or even plastic or glass materials. It is not fake, if you research the subject you will find it is a rare and unique talent, shared only by a few people worldwide. Just because science hasn't been able to explain this phenomenon, doesn't mean it is fake, it is just unexplained.
he right look up Liew thow Lin.......Its true he is not trully a "magnet" man neither is Liew Thow Lin but they both posses skin that exude highly Frictional properties....I dont know if this guys the real thing but check out Lin.....It's gentic he passed the friction or "suction" trait down to his three sons and two of his grandchildren, n he dosnt require his hand heexudes this trait from his mid section and you cant fake that he has also been examined by SEVERAL UNIVERSITIES
Well...I'm convinced....not! One thing I have learned watching Youtube is this; the more incontestable the video claims to be, the less convincing is the evidence of the video itself.
James Randi has a test which will pay 1 million dollars to anyone who can prove they possess supernatural abilities under controlled conditions. If he wants to truly "debunk" James Randi, why not do the test? He has had this test now for over 25 years, and of the ones that has taken it, NO ONE has yet to pass it because as of yet, all claims for supernatural powers and false.
I know how he did this. He is using his hand like a suction cup. The palm of his hand creates a pocket of air when he pushes down and lifts up a vacuum is created by slight cuping of the hand. When he puts the bowl down all he has to do is straighten his hand release the suction and the bowl is released. He seems to have dampened the hand he used for suction as you notice no power on it when the bowl is released at the end. It took me all of less than a minute to figure out what he is doing
What's more interesting is that when he lifts it and violently shakes his hand, it doesn't come off. But when he goes to put it down, it just comes right off.
If he was really magnetic, he would need to pull it off with his other hand.
Did you just put powder on the bowl and then rub it off? Because theres no point in putting powder on the bowl in the first place if you are just going to rub it away
(drmabus) How many times do we hve to tell YOU have not stopped James Randi's million dollar challenge, He has anounced that in two months he will stop it because no one can prove the paranormal!
He sprinkled the talcum powder over everything since that was what Randi used to discredit a previous person whom made the same claim (i.e. being magnetic).
This video by no means "debunks" James Randi, lol. It was not done in a "controlled" scientific-manner and it looks like he's palming it anyway.
If he's debunking James Randi. Why doesn't he claim the Mill? Anyone can use a $1,000,000
Magnetic Men, charities, hell even Microsoft. Although I'm not too sure how well Microsoft would use the $1,000,000
But if Microsoft could do something that simple to get a free $1,000,000 I'm sure even they would. What a loser. A magician is one thing, they entertain. But someone who tries to claim it as a supernatural power, that's sad.
You never gavce us a close inspection of your hands, whether you have painted on magnetic paint or hidden a magnet on your hand or under a fake skin that you could simple switch off the current with an accomplice. Also, why brush the powder off so that it thins out? Lastly, off you go to get the million dollars.
This just looks like any other trick which would be fine. We all get to wonder "how'd you do that?" It's the reference to the JREF that makes you look like a dumb fuck. Why the talcum powder and then why the brush off? Fucking idiot.
Yeah, the JREF is totally debunked now. Who could possibly doubt that a man editing his own video, using his own equipment, with no witnesses, isn't cheating?
Ehm, since when does magnetic power imply that you have to lean on the bowl for a bit before it "sticks"?

I don't get why people try these kinds of things any way. What's the point in trying to trick people? And so what if you get a bunch of gullible idiots to believe that you are magnetic? All it takes is for someone to throw their keys at you and there you go, you aren't magnetic.
syth184 1 year ago
...he shows his hand at the end, and there's a perfect circle where he wiped the talcum powder off of the bowl! The entire point is for there to be a small barrier preventing suction from being involved. This is painfully fake.
Chirox82 1 year ago
What the...? He sprinkles talcum powder then he wipes it off??? Then he presses his hand onto it for a long time before lifting it up?
Chew1964 1 year ago
I don't get it? Is this supposed to be psychic power? Pick up a bowl without using your mind? What's the talcum powder for then? Why do all these people even have to use their hands anyway? Why can't they just do it? What good is this "power" if they still have to touch things (or get really close) and usually take more time (and apparently effort) to do it than a "normal" person would?
swordsbane 1 year ago
afaik, stainless steel has little to no iron .. what does this have to do with magnets?
segankuz 1 year ago
@segankuz Um...stainless steel is almost completely iron. 98% or so. The same as regular steel, but coated with a chromium solution.

uri geller made a compass needle move "with the power of his mind". James Randi showed how it is done: a small powerful disc-shaped magnet is taped between 2 fingers with flesh-coloured tape so when he moves his hand needle moves. Very simple. This is the same or some other magical trick. The gullibillity of some people never ceases to amaze me.
zoltanical 2 years ago 2
@zoltanical Sounds logical, but how did he release the bowl so easily? Magents don't have an off-switch. Was it an electromagnet? If so, how did he turn it off? Just wondering.

I assume that he finally got Randi's million, did he?

Actually, he's gonne trough endless medical exams to explain his skill. He really uses psychokinesis, altough this clip doesn't seem real, because of the powder and all. Check Miroslaw Magola, you'll be quite surprised.

Hmm...

Yeah this broke-ass sexual chocolate could use the money.
I bet that's adhesive that he sprinkles on that bowl.
AquarianAgeManifest 2 years ago
heu?! ... anyone went to school? all the pots he uses are stainless steel (probably even with copper): those metals are NOT magnetic. i vote for the suction thing (things are shinny and/or very flat) ... with areas of the body that are flat and without hair ... try with the part of the head that has hair (wait a week or so to have some hair grown). boooooring, next. don't even waste JR's time, please.
zeBeaverSon 2 years ago
HAHA! Nice observation!
AquarianAgeManifest 2 years ago
Then why call himself 'magnetic man'? I would think he would go to special trouble to make sure the pots etc could be magnetically attracted. Of course, no metal is magnetic unless it is first magnetised and can be magnetised..
marxdesign 2 years ago
It is so easy to put a thin magnet under fake latex skin.

Also, it could be a magnetic RFID chip.

Ju5tClever 2 years ago
This guy should march on down to JREF and collect his million. OK. Maybe not.
pitbull103 2 years ago
Hahaha - Maybe suction? Maybe his hand is wet or damp, and the powder isn't "baby powder" or "foot powder" as the container indicates, but really powdered "denture adhesive"? A real demonstration please! LOL (I know you're having fun, and don't actually think you have any powers, but we need LESS of this garbage, not more of it!)
VimisiDigitalMedia 3 years ago
Lol, how funny... Well, to get to the debunking: First, you never see what is in his hand before he puts the bowl down again, so that's already worth examining.
Second, if you are genuine, go get the one million dollars. And before you say "Oh I don't need one million dollars", well others do. You can donate them if you wish. (Or are you such an egotistical man that you wouldn't want to pass a simple test to get a free 1 million dollars and give it to poor people?)
Have fun

hahahahaha I can do the same thing. it's the AIR PRESSURE in your palm that makes it stick! DO IT ON THE CHEST YOU MORON!!
normalman37 3 years ago
True, though there are possibly other effects in play too, like the "fat" ever present on our skin which may serve not only as a sealant for his suction cup effect but is also a bit sticky.

Why do you wipe the powder off the base of the bowl before "attracting it with your magnetic powers?" Baby powder has no effect on magnetism. Also, why don't you use something other than the flat bottoms of lightweight bowls?
mts1583 3 years ago 2
Why don't you put your hand insipe a cup with smaller things like nails or pins, a buch of them at once, see if they stick on you, like a magnet would work. You just use pots and pans all the time. James Randi invited people "like you" to go over there, without fuss or anything, and talk to him. Get one million dollars TODAY.

SUCTION WITH HIS HAND IS NOT MAGNETISM
geoffchristie 3 years ago
There are other people on Earth that have the same talent - they can attract metal or even plastic or glass materials. It is not fake, if you research the subject you will find it is a rare and unique talent, shared only by a few people worldwide. Just because science hasn't been able to explain this phenomenon, doesn't mean it is fake, it is just unexplained.

he right look up Liew thow Lin.......Its true he is not trully a "magnet" man neither is Liew Thow Lin but they both posses skin that exude highly Frictional properties....I dont know if this guys the real thing but check out Lin.....It's gentic he passed the friction or "suction" trait down to his three sons and two of his grandchildren, n he dosnt require his hand heexudes this trait from his mid section and you cant fake that he has also been examined by SEVERAL UNIVERSITIES

visceralgristle 3 years ago
James Randi has a test which will pay 1 million dollars to anyone who can prove they possess supernatural abilities under controlled conditions. If he wants to truly "debunk" James Randi, why not do the test? He has had this test now for over 25 years, and of the ones that has taken it, NO ONE has yet to pass it because as of yet, all claims for supernatural powers and false.
Bluelemonzz 3 years ago 3
Interesting how nobody who comments here actually believes this guy.
Fuglafjordur 3 years ago 2
I know how he did this. He is using his hand like a suction cup. The palm of his hand creates a pocket of air when he pushes down and lifts up a vacuum is created by slight cuping of the hand. When he puts the bowl down all he has to do is straighten his hand release the suction and the bowl is released. He seems to have dampened the hand he used for suction as you notice no power on it when the bowl is released at the end. It took me all of less than a minute to figure out what he is doing
jrich360 3 years ago 3
Instead of a video, go for the million bucks.
But it's all good...as long as there are human beings there will be morons believing this shit as well as bigfoot and UFO's.
gypsyjoerosario 3 years ago
How is this debunking? A poorly made Youtube video in 30 seconds, with no wittness nor done in controlled conditions.
Maybe if you tried it in controlled conditions, you'll end up looking like a fool like James Hydrick.

what a fake, when you have to go through that much, you know its all about diversion.
WhiteJewDevil 3 years ago
Hey let's zoom in and let's have someone examine the bowl and the powder before hand, nah let's just trust the video I'm sure it's all legit.
UrinationNation 3 years ago
What's more interesting is that when he lifts it and violently shakes his hand, it doesn't come off. But when he goes to put it down, it just comes right off.
If he was really magnetic, he would need to pull it off with his other hand.
asdfme 3 years ago 3
Interesting that he has a perfect circle of powder on his hands after it, i.e., he got NO powder on the center of his palm.

(drmabus) How many times do we hve to tell YOU have not stopped James Randi's million dollar challenge, He has anounced that in two months he will stop it because no one can prove the paranormal!
DEANOTECHNO 4 years ago
The Randi Challenge will end in 2 years, (not months). It gives any further claimants enough time to apply and win the $1M.
BTW: If he's magnetic, why does he need to sprinkle that powder over his hands and the bowls? Makes no sense.
gnuworldorder 3 years ago
He sprinkled the talcum powder over everything since that was what Randi used to discredit a previous person whom made the same claim (i.e. being magnetic).
This video by no means "debunks" James Randi, lol. It was not done in a "controlled" scientific-manner and it looks like he's palming it anyway.
kaoken19 3 years ago 3

Lastly, off you go to get the million dollars.
tamlac00 4 years ago
This just looks like any other trick which would be fine. We all get to wonder "how'd you do that?" It's the reference to the JREF that makes you look like a dumb fuck. Why the talcum powder and then why the brush off? Fucking idiot.
