i just bought a nas 220 unit from sea gate the black armor edition. would like to know how to set it up as a networking server? I'm just getting an idea of what the MAC address is and some of its functionality but would love if you could elaborate a little more on the MAC addresses? Thanks and great tutorial

I've tried everything but I realized it doesn't work for Netgear Adapter WNDA3100v2. I tried all kinds of software, so, for some reason they fixed that.. but you can change the MAC address of the other cards so easily with many softwares

RE: anonymity+privacy. I agree, but wanted to add a little something.

It's great to boost your anonymity, but technical tricks don't do people much good if those people don't understand how privacy and security are achieved on an insecure network such as the internet.

For example, you mention anonymity in your video, but from the same video I can tell that you're sitting right off of Rt. 126 in Clearfield, Utah. No amount of obscuring your MAC address is hiding that.

That happens to you if you are connecting to a network where the owner of that network have specific Mac Address allowed to connect only. My big brother did this to me, so what i responded.... i download mac changer and another program called Find Mac address 2.1. ( this program helped me search for all the computers' mac address that are connected to the network. Then i cloned my Mac Address to his Mac Address, and now i use the internet without limitations.) Try that if you want.

the guys that are not gettin access to registry. is because u have to open as admin. if u have VISTA ofcouse.any way.i tried ever way possible to change my Mac address its just not possible at least for me... ok have this card ' Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS.VISTA.when i do change the Mac.its say succesfull but the fhysical address it still the same . when i go to regestry the are there are 2 .Networaddress and Originalnetworkaddress.PLZ help me.!!

Well the dells broadcom wireless does not wireless packet injection nor will it allow you to capture packets. You can spoof your mac but the boradcom card and drivers are very limited. If you want to get in to there wireless i would suggest to go on ebay and buy a new Mini PCIE wireless card like intel pro or dlink

I have a broadcom 1390 dell mini whatever in my inspiron 1501, and my neighbour has wireless unencrypted but i think they are using mac address filtering, i used netstumbler and i have the mac address of their access point, so now what can i do to get on their AP? how can i figure out the mac addy of their laptop/desktop that is wirelessly connecting to their own ap?

If they know your IP, ISP and time of the "incident" or whatever you're trying to do, they won't need you MAC address for nothing.

As for the IP question, I don't think so, since it's the ISP that gives you your public IP, but I can be wrong.

this works great...but I need to use an account to connect to the internet at my school. If I keep on spoofing the Mac address, is it possible for them to just ban my account? or they'll just keep on blocking my mac address?
