Having the military overseas does not make me safer. It actually increases the chance of a terrorist threat. 9/11 was a prime example of that threat.

Doubling the debit from $5 tril to $10 Tril.
Ignoring economy: 0 regulations for derivatives ($60 Tril in Swaps) or subprimes (60% un regulated)
Invading the wrong country for $3 tril for control of a dwindling resource (oil)
Letting Bin Laden go in Tora Bora (no boots on the ground)
Suppoorting 0 regulation for polluters, allowing this planet to be raped to death for profit
0 financial regulation STILL

Sorry, I get around 10 comments a day and I usually end up skipping half of them. I don't think you are even capable of discerning the difference between a political party and a political ideology, given that you attack the conservative dogma and then cite Republican atrocities as an argument. The truth of the matter is that Republicans in general have not been Old Right conservatives for 60 or so years.
And you give a laundry list of issues, but I doubt you actually understand them.

again, the concepts are not bad, but they fail in their implementation. cap-and-trade goes too far, too fast. it just creates another system for wall street to get rich while normal americans pay higher prices for gasoline, electricity, natural gas to cook, heating oil, plastics (made from petroleum), food ( higher transportation costs). as drawn up, it will tax americans like no other time in our history, and we just cannot afford it right now. i am outta here... have a good weekend.

why perpetuate the us v. them attitude? why not talk about what people are doing to themselves to prevent them from getting ahead? do they really need 200 channels of cable and cell phones for everyone in the house? do they really need a new car v. used? do the really need to drop $60 each week on cigarettes (poor smoke more than wealthy), it is consumerism that has wrecked this country and both parties are guilty of promoting it. where is personal accountability? dead, and it's a shame!

i would agree, but therein lies the problem. we hear/read the same thing and interpret it completely differently. the economy should have never grown to the size it did before collapsing, because it did so on debt. people used to be embarrassed to borrow or be in debt and now there is no stigma. people complained when bankruptcy laws were mad more difficult because they wanted easy ways out for their mistakes. almost out of space... more...

We sold $ AT LEAST 60 Trillion in Swaps. We hired Bremer in Iraq, he fired 500,000 men, did not stop looting, allowed 3 tons of munitions to be taken by the men he just fired, supplied no water or electricity in a city larger than LA. THOSE are facts.
opinion would be - "That's a great way to run war" or "Not a good idea in LA - NOT a good idea in Bagdad". There ARE facts, concrete things that happened - dick invented profit margins in war in 1991... that is a fact! Fact vs opinion is crucial!
