Truth is, Petraeus' surge was nothing more than a surge in bribery. Turns out that Saddam's disenfranchised military had planned to go underground to fight a guerrilla insurgency which had nothing to do with Al Qaeda, Islamic fundamentalism, or Sunni/Shiite ethnic conflict. The surge worked because Petraeus (to his credit) realized these terrorists were just a bunch of corrupt gangsters whom he could simply buy off with old fashioned payola.

Barack Obama has tried in PRIVATE to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence. According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a KEY THEME of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

And after all that, he approached the Iraq government to delay American troop withdrawels until after the election. They told him to go fuck himself and then immediately ratted him out. He LIED about it then immediately got caught in the lie. Then he said it was a misunderstanding. The reporter who broke the story immediately exposed that as a lie too.

There is a word for what Obama did....treason. It's illegal to try and subvert foriegn policy matters in this way.
