one of the the greatest songs that Simon and Garfunkel sang, even if I know that Luke Kelly wrote the original one! Is there anyone of you that knows the tabs of this wonderful song?
It's such a beautiful song, written by Christy Moore, that one can forget the horror of nuclear war that the song is about. Let's use this song as an anthem of hope that an end to all war be found soon ...
First version I heard was Simon and Garfunkel. You don't always have to have the loudest or strongest voice to sing meaningfully. Just a passion for the song and the ability to interpret it. I'm also a musician and it's interesting to see how different artists interpret the same song!
Are you a memmber of the Dubliner's group? I notice the screen name is Dubliner85. Or are you one of their fans. Check out my YouTube page. It has some of my singing as well as some videography.
Gotta say, I wasn't expecting such heavy songs (lyrically.) Seriously, this and Sparrow and He Was My Brother are all so sad.

Actually, someone else wrote it, both Paul Simon and Luke Kelly recorded versions of it.

Nice song, but Luke Kelly sings the definitive version of this.
