Hard to say. I have a feeling they've been choreographed to within an inch of their lives. ("Cut to Jerry, smiling...swish pan to Steve, making a funny face.") Still, the whole movie is awesome.
I saw David Byrne last night on his "Music of David Byrne and Brian Eno tour" and I'm thrilled to say he's still got it! I wasn't even born when Stop Making Sense was filmed so I'm thrilled to have got to see him now.
the concerts were all recorded then put together, if you notice the backing singers change their cloths ai irregular times, but what a concert wish i couldve have been there, to young tho. Grrrr
This band puts out so much energy. I am exhausted jjust watching them. Loved SMS when it first came out and have been a huge fan ever since. I just wished my stereo went higher than 10. :(
Saw them at the greek in L.A. seat 12 row L looking straight down to mike. Film is exactly from my vantage point. Front row center seats in Vegas, canceled the day of the show, made me mad as hell, but...at least I was at the Greek. Never ever been to another live show that could even begin to compare.
I love the talking heads more than I love to scream ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh love has come to town. I love the byrnes-esk rap at the end
It was recorded in the Summer 1983 and released in 1984.
kkkkkklf, I want to thank you so very much for this awesome movie concert. Today, I have spent 90 truly fantastic and wonderful minutes of great music. I can only think how much I'am (we are) obliged to you. Thank you again and again!
one of the best bands ever.. check out how many styles there r in this song.. amazing! rock, funck, soul.... i can just keep goin! def goin on my favorites!
Thanks For Posting.....best song...on the best movie....ever made......takes me back.....thrusts me forward.

out of all the versions of this on youtube, this one is definitely the best. The performance owns them all, and the sound quality is very good too.

No matter how old I get or how old they get...I completely enjoy their way of performing and their songs! AWESOME!

It's a Roland synth guitar (G-303?). I think he's just playing it as regular guitar, though.
