PBs are 800m long. About the size of the aforementioned BC-304. Fortress-class warships are 50km long, with much more powerful weapons.
@Halo1Pokemon1Master An Executor has 300.000 crewmen. It has 3 complete Divsions on board. A fleet of the much smaller Empire II-Class-Stardestroyers is able to make a planet unlivable into a few days. Damn I was a frickin Star Wars nerd as I was young xD

There are no working railguns currently put onto any US warships. And no the recoil doesn't tear the ship apart. That's cause all the heat generated as recoil is absorbed into the cannon itself. Problem with that is after a few uses, the cannon melts down and won't work no more. Currently scientists are trying to fix that problem. As for why they use a railgun, it's based off the actual Transformers comic where a railgun is actually used by S7 to kill the Destructor.
