Thank you for uploading this! I did always notice the detail in the paintings where, and you could particularly see it in the darker paintings, he had scratched away that black, and underneath were bright colors that show through, but they were just very tiny scratches, yet they make such a lovely effect. And I about died when I saw those original canvases with Christopher Carrion, Mater Motley, John Mischief, I felt like I was seeing holy relics, haha. I adore the Abarat series.
My most favorite book in the entire universe and in the entirety of eternity.
