  • I am actually beginning practice for this on Sunday... do you have any of the other chorus numbers that I could take a peek at? :D

  • Oh, it's in English! I knew there was an English translation of the libretto but I had to listen to it in German. *Grumbles.*

  • wow. this is my first college opera and we're doing merry wives of windsor too. i'm also in the chorus. this seems to be a very good production of it. i'm actually kind of excited to do it now! haha. good job!

  • Have a blast! Afterall, opera is like choir ... but with acting :)

  • afterall, opera is NOT like choir but with acting. it's so much more!

  • I agree, I'm doing the English version of this opera... and opera is not like chior at all. Choral singing is difficult because it's about the blending of all voices, no matter how powerful one's sound. Maslanka's work is a great depiction of this. Operatic choruses are solo singers that meld together to sing a single idea, or many different ideas to bring the drama to the tabel of the stage. This clip of the opera is a wonderful depiction of this idea! Bravi to the entire very talented cast!
