It seems that you've confused "metal vs not metal" with "what you like vs what you do not like". You cannot say that slipknot aren't metal. You also can't say St Anger isn't metal - you might hate it, it might be awful, but it is metal. A very ugly, stripped down, chaotic form of metal. Which is sort of what metal is about.

All bands have great songs, all bands have horrible songs. All bands have great albums, all bands have horrible albums. You have to compare equals. Notice how they didn't play KoRn's heaviest songs, but their lamest. They didn't play Twisted Transistor or Coming Undone. Same for Slayer, if you played a crappy Slayer song u wouldn't think its metal.

Then in the '90s they went MAINSTREAM and sold out FOUR TIMES! The "One" music video, The Black Album, Load and ReLoad, and that Napster incident. That's when they became New Metallica and started playing pop, alternative rock, and nu metal. Now they're not even remotely close to heavy, just another gay mainstream poser band.
I kind of hated the nu metal label at first but I've definetaly embraced it now. Fuck it. I like American Head Charge, Ultraspank, Static-X, Mudvayne and many other bands that might be considered nu metal. That's what sounds good to me. I've been a fan of iron maiden since1979 and have been into metal since that time. i'm also from Birmingham England, the birth place of metal. Maiden can no longer be called metal. Their last two albums are utter crap and no longer metal.

Then in the '90s they went MAINSTREAM and sold out FOUR TIMES! The "One" music video, The Black Album, Load and ReLoad, and that Napster incident. That's when they became New Metallica and started playing pop, alternative rock, and nu metal. Now they're not even remotely close to heavy, just another gay mainstream poser band.

I kind of hated the nu metal label at first but I've definetaly embraced it now. Fuck it. I like American Head Charge, Ultraspank, Static-X, Mudvayne and many other bands that might be considered nu metal. That's what sounds good to me. It doesn't make a fuck to me if it's easy to play or been over done. Is it that big of a deal? KoRn may not be metal but at least they created a new genre, the bands that copied it are the ones that are mallcore because used the success of KoRn to go mainstreem.
