This guy did a fine job and if you want to get into interprestation, this is the only scene in the whole play where Mitch is confrontational, so as for contrasting with Stanely, who isn't even in this scene I believe you are mistaken. These actors did fine work and should be applauded not criticized. Especially in an amateur video posted in low resolution. Kudos to them.
I think it's sad that people that view this are so critical of the performance. If you have ever been on stage it's hard to stay true to the story and at the same time give it your own interpretation. I don't think he had Mitch wrong, Mitch was the opposite of Stanley, but at this point he was fed up. Mitch was tired of the mendacity (Streetcar). Give these people a break... at the end of the day could even professionals compete with Brando or Leigh?
I think there's a lack of sense of variation and gradation in Blanche's role. The actress sounds invariably hysteric. The flaws are not necessarily only due to the actors, but may also come from the direction.
To say they suck is mean. They really got into it and did well. There are variations on the play to the movie. If you haven't done it then you really don't know how hard it is. Bravo!
Interesting interpretation of Blanche... I'm not sure its what we'd expect of the character but you can truly see her madness in the way she is represented here.
Man, some of you people are really mean. Have you done any acting? I'd imagine the actors would appreciate constructive criticism, but comments like "you suck" and "pathetic" probably aren't very helpful. It's hard to put yourself out there...so good for them for doing it.
Almost as if she drives everyone around her insane, while she, herself, is slipping. Both actors in this production are phenomenal and i give them so much credit and respect because it is not an easy scene or characters to pull off.
Especially because of the complexity and symbolic nature that Tennessee Williams instilled in them when he wrote the play.
@bwoplooch Yes you're totally right mexican woman rocks... Flores... BUT Mitch (in this scene) is supposed to show that all men are like Stanley. He's Blanche's last hope to exist in this new south. But even he rejects her and gets physical. It's getting very close to the breaking point ( when Blanche gives in to Stanley [NOT RAPE!] )
Cringe worthy.

Blanche could have had more variation to the role in this scene..she is too hysterical the entire time. She does it well, but she needed more layers.

dude mitch was all wrong
u got aggressive with her... the whole purpose of mitch is to contrast with stanley who IS aggressive..hense the rape...
yeah hes pissed bout her lying to him but not in a way where he wants to beat her up cuz he loves her still...
o and wheres mexican woman!?!?! shes the best part of it lol

this scene is perfect.
if you've seen the movie or read the play, you can see that Mitch succumbs to being aggressive, to prove many points.
including that Blanche brings out the animalistic truths in all the characters she comes in contact with.

Oh, by the way... Blanche was wonderful. She hit-the-nail-on-the-head with the crazed act. I really enjoyed her performance.
