I think 8 fps at 18MP on the 7D is better then 11 fps at 5.1MP OK you can have 9 fps at 12.i MP full frame where most full frame are at 21MP for Q but if you want speed and Q with 18.1MP and 14 frames per second (12fps with AF) check out the EOS 1D X

Hell no! I don't do that with mine. According to the manual, it shortens the life of the camera shutter especially the moving parts! ONLY when necessary do that. As you all know, the camera HAS a life span.

i am surprised that videos of a camera shooting at continuous shooting speed are the most viewed. btw irl, nikon's af speed isn't as fast as canon's silent & fast USM, so irl in sports, AF-C, it would not be 9FPS, it would be 6-7FPS. i actually demoed a d3 and own a d300.

But i'll go with nikon. D700 is the best mutiscenery cam so far.

It's a full format cam with stunning AF, best low light and ISO capabilities and nikons D-Lightening sets the i-dot.

The 1D Mk 4 is comparable to D3x but much cheaper

D700 is the best camera with batterygrip MB-D10 so far. Much better than 5D Mark II (better ISO noise, better AF) and the D700 has all the electronic and the sensor of the D3 (i think not D3s, i think there are minor changes to the D3 and D700)

the mark4 shoots 10fps @ 16megapixel, the D3 shoots 11 at DX mode which means not higher than 5 megapixel. So the 1D4 has to write a lot more of MB's to his CF than the D3 has to do.
