I've a spare hour this morning and I'm able to watch this in full. It really is very enjoyable. Myself and my partner have been up to Scarborough and Whitby in the last year, and though we're on the coast ourselves it felt more invigorating here, which is further north than our part of the world. I'm a big Brontes fan, so Scarborough has extra appeal for me because it's where Anne Bronte is buried.
Loved the video Steve, I remember going to Blackpool a few yours back, went into the Sealife place there and we all loved it too. I don't think I'd ever be able to go to Scarborough but after seeing this I'd love to go.
Shame it is over 6 hours away from us, over 300 miles. In my car that would be very expensive. lol
I really don't see the harm a camera could do in an arcade, really, I could understand if your filming near a ATM in there but anywhere else, really??
Great vid! I'm going to Scarborough a week on Tuesday, the Scalby Mills pub at the end of the north bay is great, really quiet with great food and beer!
I don't know what is the point of cameras not being allowed in the arcade places. The owners have no common sense. By the way Scarborough is a very nice town!
Prepare for an English summer, bring a coat and an umbrella ^_^. I've heard you mention this channel but this my first visit, I wanted to see more of Scarborough. So many beautiful vistas there. A lot of great architecture there, quite nice. Lol, I still can't believe you broke a whole tank. Cool train, dead bears galore. HELLO!, sounds like my sister's kids. "Oy! what you lookin' at." says the seagull. WTF kicking you out,a tourist filming, they never seen that before? Thanks for the tour. :)
Looks like a really nice part of the country - might try to get up there at some point. You claim those bears were poisoned... but I saw you with a gun just moments before! :-) Thanks for sharing!
Makes me wish I could take a trip there. If only you did have that paintball gun with you! Those annoying little children :). Do love the music around halfway through. Let me guess, steel drum samples ran through Octamed? Anyways, is it just me or does all bad 'arcades' always have some version of Time Crisis, Big Game Hunter, and some random two player racing game? Last of all, I'm trying to place the song at the beginning. Sounds like some sort of 80s sounding British futurist synthpop. :)
@senorverde09 No Octamed. I did that bit of music entirely on my Roland MC303. The music at the start is the epitome of 80s British futurist synthpop. It was Gary Numan singing Cold Warning from his Berzerker album :D
@BenwaysWorld Hmm, no Octamed? Interesting! Oh, and I should have guessed it was Numan :D. Serves me right as I've been listing to Telekon more than anything else lately. Again, thanks for sharing! Shame about what happened with the tank though :). Just comes to show that you are not suited for land warfare (yet).
This was an awesome video Steve, these are some of my favourite videos when you take your camera outside. I love to see the differences and the similarities in where everyone lives. It really was great of you to take time out of your own personal holiday to show us some footage or Scarborough, I personally have never been there so it's really great to see. It reminds me a lot of Dunoon, a place I used to visit once a year as a wee boy. Thanks muchly Steve :D
@AtsumaKarin I did more anti arcade ranting after getting chucked out of the 2nd place, but I edited it out, coz I didn't want to get all negative, and I was more amused than anything :)

Benway i need that song... xD
Hennersy 6 months ago
@Hennersy The one where we're looking at the fish? This is the only place where it exists in that form, as it's a very slowed down version.
You can hear it in its original form at watch?v=_1fi5XWri2M

In defence of the arcade owners you could easily have been a burglar and casing the joint with your camera ...lol

Amazing.
I stayed with my family in a self-catering apartment in that same street when I was about 10 or 11.
One of the kitchen cupboards fell on me when I opened it to get some cornflakes.
Great place, shame about the kitchen furniture.

Aww damn, Steve! Now I really wanna be back up there after watching all that! :(
We haven't been to the Sealife Centre yet, though in all the years we've been going. I think we'll go there sooner or later, though.
Yeah, the Ferrari is pretty cool.
That cat is cute, I want him/her! :P
Lol @ your anti-arcade rant after being kicked out! :P
Glad you had a great holiday. Welcome back to reality, Steve! ;)

Now, what is this "reality" of which you speak?
BenwaysWorld 6 months ago
Ah, it wouldn't be a British holiday without rain, would it? And people walking on the beach in their wellies.
I reckon someone did a train drive-by on the teddies.

@Hindleyak lol... the teddies did look a little massacred :D

Shame they were funny about you filming in some of the arcades.
