Also, when people seek counseling at ex-gay groups, more often than not they seem to be running from guilt because they did suffer molestation and blame it on themselves. That's part of the reason they're looking for counseling in the first place. The healthy, happy GLBT people who haven't been molested would be content to engage in a theological debate rather than seek counseling. It's circular logic. Of course the groups have molestation victims. Those are the ones who seek counseling.

A little piece of me hopes that this is PARTLY true, then people could say that Catholic priests are partially responsible for making people gay. I used to use that as a justification as well. I was a seminarian and at a inter-novitiate conference I heard them say homosexuality was a gift...I was appalled. NO ONE says "I have never meet..." in a context of admitting possibility of otherwise without an explicit acknowledment of the possibility. It is said to convey an absolute.
