This song has spoken volumes to me as of late. And Jeremiah 17:9 has been kicking my tail lately too. So much truth in these two mediums... my heart can barely take it. ;)
I've been a Christian for my whole life but recently I had a falling out with God and got into trouble with the law and I just realized that even though it wasn't the end of the world, it was still rock bottom for me because I let other things take control of my heart...My life was a wreck... but even through all that, I know that the only way out is through God, and letting Him have my whole heart... I'm not really one of those touchy feely people but this song nearly brought me to tears.
Looking through the list of Sanctus Real songs, the Lord directed me to this one. THIS is EXACTLY what I am struggling with right now. The ONLY thing holding me back from progressing on with God is my heart---the action/choice of letting the Unfailing-Love the the Father touch my heart. He spoke to me yesterday and said, "Open your heart to me," and because my mind wanted to wander to other things and I was feeling so much anger and disappointment with Him, I didn't. I turned my heart away.
@iloveInChrist009 I agree! Today I wrote:" Most people aviod disappointment by rejecting something/someone new. But time around I rejected Your Spirit because I don't want to fail and disappoint You!" I wrote that to God becasue I backslide and thats how I feel. But the bible said that your heart will decieve you...its ok becasue Jesus will never leave you.
(I'm a poet/writer for Christ if you havent figure it out yet..lol)
@radafat "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:9 That's why they say that they're giving their heart away so that they don't follow their heart anymore, but they follow Jesus who can save them from themselves and their deceitful hearts.
