pratt 123 it is so easy to break a noob circle.

first if u have archers attack his inf in the back. then he will have to move. and if he doesnt then attack on 1 side only and overwhelm him but dont use all ur units. when he sees his inf starting to break he will break it on his own then u can use all ur units and surrond him.

well lets see archers vs calv = loss for archers men with axes vs men with long spear = loss for axe men and well defended archers vs a few chariots = loss for chariots over all Macedon had it in the bag :D

The micromanagement in this match is amazing, I loved the little trap for his chariots with the pikes (sorry I forgot the name), it was sweet :)

Your videos got me into RTW, I just happened to see one, and thought "Holy shit, its age of empires on steroids!"

I'm still getting used to the strategy, coming from age of empires, where you just send a mob of knights and militia running at the enemy,its a challenge to learn the new planning and micromanagement, but fun!

@vvulfgang Age of Empires is good too, I love RTW, and it's definitely much more complicated an realistic. But they are both good in their own way. Age of Empires has the awesome kingdom building system (I wasn't very fond of RTW's campaign, but that's just me :P), and a nice and simple combat system. RTW on the other hand has really epic battles, which involve much, much more strategy than AoE's battle system.

They're both great games :D

i see some of your fights.you are pretty good but don;t be so proud because almost all your oponents were very noobs:for example they charge with their cavalry from behind your spearman,the atack camil cavalry with horse cavalry,they don;t not know to use chariots and cavalry and they use Head Hurlers against archers,they send their elefants in front,isolated from the others units,they dindn;t heard about lose formation.

yes it is true the romans usualy fighted in formation rather than charge like retards.The reason the line behind them moved foward was to let fresh men fight and let the men b4 fightin gain thier energy back.

Phalanx is excelent to defeat almost any unit, while it's still not out-flanked. If you're holding a defensive position, and those units are not attacked from range, you should set the phalanx formation. If you've noticed, in such formation they move very slowly. If you want to move quickly, you should make them run, deselecting this formation.

Egypt were very weak but the Egyptian culture was to strong to conquer literally. this is why Egypt became independent after Alexander preserving its culture. it was similar with the romans. yes they were beaten by the romans but they kept their traditions ect. and thus was really just a client kingdom
