I'm a registered nurse and you could tell Elvis was ill he had Diabetes and when a diabetic is in the later stages they get this ashen look to their skin, Elvis had this as well as an enlarged heart that cannot pump efficiently and fluid build up he was so swollen his face his hands. His memory was impaired so that he was reading songs lyrics off papers. In my opinion he died from cardiopulmonary failure and the lack of concern for his welfare by his friends and doctor. Shame

there were thousands of fans lining the streets of Elvis Presley Blvd. in Memphis to pay respects to him as the hearse passed by.Everytime I see it I get choked up that so many payed their respects. He never forgot where he came from. Even though he spent a lot of time in Hollywood and Los Angeles in the 60's and early 70's, Graceland was his HOME.

I only have one question as far as the nurse is concerned she said he called her around 8am and asked her to come over and stay and she kept hearing the harvey team being called and she was being messeged some way stat. I remember that day clearly. I was 11 y/o I was watching "The Beverly Hillbillies" on TV and they showed a news ticker across the bottom of the screen that Elvis had passed. The local TV stations showed his movies, the radio stations played his music 24/7. It was really hot that summer (as it usually is in Memphis, trust me) and that news footage did not exxaggerate: The were crowds outside Graceland trying to get in for the viewing were huge. It was pretty intense.

@dazimo That was JD Sumner at the beginning of this video, a legendary gospel singer who sang bass for Elvis along with his group 'The Stamps'. He's not an "idiot" just religious. He deserves respect. He's also in the Guinness Book for singing the lowest recorded note ever produced by a human voice (a 'C' note but three octaves below Middle C.) JD was a hero to Elvis'. Remember that Elvis originally wanted to sing gospel. His favorite group was the Blackwood brothers of which JD was a member.
