Gay marriage rights and black civil rights aren't quite the same. If you see a black man in the park, you can instantly tell that he's black. He doesn't have to say or do a thing.

Great video. But I think your idea of gay kids getting beat up in school is a bit dated. Take it from me. I'm in high school and know several openly gay people. They aren't beat up. They have lots of straight friends and are treated pretty much equally. Maybe that's just where I see it, but I don't think it is.

In my best friend's high school, there have been many beatings and the occasional attempted stabbing against many minorities, including the gays, atheists, muslims, etc. This school is very close to a local ghetto, and is something like 70% black. So, his point is not dated, it just isn't as wide spread as some think.

Great video. I'm a priveleged white man, so I want to check that at the door, but I think the bigger issue is with education, or lack thereof. Religion and lack of education tend to go hand-in-hand (and more so with science education). I don't think I need to point out the unfortunate reality that many blacks lack a good education. Great video. But I think your idea of gay kids getting beat up in school is a bit dated. Take it from me. I'm in high school and know several openly gay people. They aren't beat up. They have lots of straight friends and are treated pretty much equally. Maybe that's just where I see it, but I don't think it is.

@EPICsliceOFcake It depends on the school. In my high school, many guys were openly gay, and everyone was totally cool with it. In my best friend's high school, there have been many beatings and the occasional attempted stabbing against many minorities, including the gays, atheists, muslims, etc. This school is very close to a local ghetto, and is something like 70% black. So, his point is not dated, it just isn't as wide spread as some think.

Anyhoo, if you get to Valhalla you will have a mandatory 6am-6pm job, no days off, fighting other "Chosen" warriors, you don't get to eat anything until the end of the day and the only meal option is grilled pork and only drink option is mead. Finally at the end of times you have to fight a bunch of frost and fire giants in a battle which doesn't end unless you die.

Great video. I'm a priveleged white man, so I want to check that at the door, but I think the bigger issue is with education, or lack thereof. Religion and lack of education tend to go hand-in-hand (and more so with science education). I don't think I need to point out the unfortunate reality that many blacks lack a good education. Fix education (which is difficult with white men and the likes of Herman Cain trying to keep you down) and the religious problem will fade away...slowly, but surely.

Some of the people in here know nothing about gay history, before the start of the modern gay rights movement in the late 60s being caught having gay sex could result in prison, loss of a career, loss of family, or being beaten to death. For a time in American history gay sex was punished by death. Before modern times your choice was basically to spend your life alone or risk having your life ruined or ended.
None of this might be on the same scale of the slave trade, but it still is terrible.

What does being a "Black" have to do with a point of view? You can look at someone and tell that they are black, you can't simply look at someone and tell that a person is gay. Also wasn't it something like 95% of black people voted for a Democrat in 2008? I personally think that anyone should marry whoever they want to, but it's dumb to think that black people who make up about 11% of the United States population are the main problem.

my dear, it is not all christians that speak against homosexuality, their are people like you that do not believe in organized religion at all that feel the same way. People will feel how they want but it does not give them the right to put their hands on anyone because of those feelings..if you do not condone homosexuals then thats what it is, but people from all walks of life, not just black christian, need to learn to be civil. These are things that should be taught as a child.

The only rights gays have been denied is the right to get married...and since you brought the bible into it, you tell me where in the bible it says men should marry men, the bible clearly says, "woman give yourself to your husband." Now most people want to say, "well jesus is a god of love, and he says to love everyone." This is very true, but he was speaking of a neighborly, humanitarian love.
