  • I remember watching this when I was 5 lol!!! Memories

  • At the end, she looks like a female alien bobby mcferrin..... lol

  • this is like... a million different sopranos voices edited together you know, and then autotuned the crap outta

    still very very pretty though

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze actually only 5 sopranos

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze No.. no it's not

  • @DaughterxOfxBlaze they only had a few like four or five but used no autotune.

  • AAAAAAhh boldness, u take from us beauty u give us character.......

    and who wants character

  • Outstanding.

I've been listening to this song since I was 11, and it never ceases to amaze me.

    Also, awesome movie. xD

  • good choose if I can I will listen to this an thousand time

  • Bruce and DIva have the same foreheads......

  • The lady singing this is an Albanian Opera Soprano called Inva Mula. None of the vocals are enhanced by Computers, although at 4:23 it's not just her voice you hear it's also a Wind Instrument. Oh and with out all the Blue make up and shit, she's actually pretty :)

  • @LottiBondarj666 That's not her on the video. The role of Plavalaguna was played by French actress Maïwenn Le Besco, it's just Inva's voice :)

  • a... a twi'lek ?

  • amazing....

  • She looks like Paramore! (thats Haley Williams)

  • mila jovovich >>>>>>

  • am i the only one on the planet that was scared of her when was young first time watching this...???

  • nope...well i wuznt scared but i thought she wuz pretty freaky looking

  • @Dipslip16 younger, fuck that i'm scared of her now!

  • @Dipslip16

totally dude, youre so right! and ye cool

  • @Dipslip16: your comment is two weeks old by now. so i'd say: obviously yes ;-)

  • @Dipslip16 I thought she was real! I actually just wanted to meet her lol

  • @Dipslip16 I was the opposite. I thought she was pretty. lol. I was a weird kid. :)

  • @Dipslip16 Im 13 and STILL freaked by her

  • It's impressive, but it's a human thing to sing, I think it's not even that difficult everyone thinks... try with Mozart's Queen of the Night. :P

Anyway this is not all by herself, there is an artificial sound that replaces her voice in some points, they must have done that just to make the song more futuristic.

Inva Mula is a lyric coloratura soprano, I bet she could do the whole song by herself is she want, it's not so hard as it may seem, but probably they wanted the song done this way.

  • Nice Quality @Dwightfonseka!

  • @ParaxBrookexMore I agree, at 3:38 she starts getting down. At 4:10 she really begins tearing it down. At 4:20, she goes krakatoa oh the audience with that flute sound effect.

  • @100LEGIONS thats actually Inva Mula - Tchako's voice. she's a diva in real life and doesn't scared of anything.

  • @quacktackular she doesn't afraid of anything? Fifth Element must be a pretty cool guy!

  • Twiilik ftw

  • love that last part with the action in it !!

  • Her voice is still deeper than Justin Bieber's...

  • @benjimo721 justin bieber, don't sing...

  • @benjimo721

she's even better looking than him

  • this is awsome!!!!!

  • Inva Mula is albanian ... Im albanian

  • @popPuNkEJay i knew an albanian, not that it really matters but just sayin.

  • @TheDevenus95 cool .. us albanian are cool ppl ... believe meh ...

  • @popPuNkEJay i know, the guy i knew was cool and hilarious too

  • @ nexus1g 4:15 ...

  • @nexus1g i think you can totally hear that she's singing with some reworked pitch, look at 4:21 or begin at 4:33, the >sound< of the notes changes so fast, and sounds so different than a human voice, i think it's definately reworked with some kind of a keyboard. i even think they didn't put any efforts to hide that, it's just so obvious that it's simply an aspect of the song. (as it's a futuristic sci-fi movie anyway)

  • @rueckwaertssalto ... but maybe i'm wrong ;)

  • @rueckwaertssalto SHe is not human! That's how she can sing like that

  • @cabba00 Inva mula tchako, look it up if you dont believe me

  • @cabba00 yes she is HUMAN AND SJE IS FROM ALBANIA * INVA MULA's VOICE

  • @rueckwaertssalto Check out Disneydiva7's cover of it. Now... Human? I think so. :3

  • @rueckwaertssalto she's an actress, but the voice is for a really opera singer, and is real!!!! ignorat, her name is Inva mula tchako... learn

  • Is the part between 1:20 - 1:25 computerized?

  • @JohnKeotes nope ;) it's all real voice of INVA MULA An ALBANIAN soprano

  • awesome!!! & very good quality

  • Film performances just aren't as good as they used to be.

  • the "diva" has the most amazing voice EVER. and the ACTUALLY impressive part? its pure talent. The woman playing her was discovered in a small village in russia and actually has got no musical training or education AT ALL.

  • @esmezOuzOuznr2 you are wrong , she is not from russia .

Fuck yourself looser :)

  • @4Absolut You know... I was talking about the guy you were referring to, but go ahead with your abusive language, you don't sweat me.

  • @lordblades Accept my pologies please . I havent understood with which was you talking about. Have a nice day man :))))

  • I remeber seeing this as a little girl...I love it lol...

  • How sick will it be when we are having Opera's in outer space with the Earth as a backdrop. Badass

  • The song is called: Il dolce suono, in Opera Lucia de Lammemour.

  • My favorite part of the movie! I was so sad she got shot. :c

  • move to 3:28 if you want to go to that action part ;)

  • it's hard to believe that all those notes are woman-made, not even edited or anything!

  • Mila Jovovitch you are so damn sexy. I love you as an actress and love watching you do your work.

  • This is one of the greatest movies ever made.

But I have a question, I've gotten so many mixed answers on the singer's actual voice. I know that the voice can do amazing things, and that it's possible for the human voice to do vocalizations that are found at about 4:13, but I've heard that it was her voice and that it wasn't her voice. I can't find any definitive proof either way. Does anyone have an answer with proof backing it?

  • @nexus1g Well, I'm not sure whether or not it was her real voice but this girl sings it nearly perfectly... [/watch?v=bgo0CDL6bd0]

Shows that it's almost possible, so nothing can prove that it's fully impossible!

  • @nickbond221 yes its her real voice watch the extras on the dvd

  • @nexus1g look at the suggestions on the right side "laura sings diva dance" - the sound of this (the original) is reworked, but laura does it without any technical help

  • @mrroubin01 That's the question I had though; I haven't been able to find any proof one way or the other if there was technical assistance with her voice in the movie. But I want a more official source for the answer.

  • 3.52 und 4.16 sind die besten stellen überhaupt =D

  • A+ on the singing and the fighting but F on the dancing.

  • best moment of the movie

  • what an amazing voice..sometimes Hollywood pulls off a bit of class ;)

  • @sunflowerofpeace No! ;)

At the time, it was the most expensive film ever produced outside of Hollywood.

  • music from Gaetano Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor : "Il dolce suono", and was sung by Albanian soprano Inva Mula-Tchako, while the role of Plavalaguna was played by French actress Maïwenn Le Besco.

  • wow, what a voice..

some people may find offensive that other ones laugh about this scene, since the diva is sUch an awesome singer and give you the chills. but i guess the humor was really intentional..

  • Anybody know what she's singing?

  • @Kotori32

Dude, she is singing II Dolce Suono, by Inva Mula

You'll find it somewhere here ---->

    cheers ^^

  • nigga willis!
